The surprises this game brings to players are truly endless. First, there's the incredibly realistic and expansive scene, and now an AI system within the game?
Jane quickly looked at her arm and discovered she was wearing a sleek black bracelet on her right wrist. The bracelet fit her arm perfectly, dark and flawless, with complex lines covering its surface, and a shimmering interior.
"Wow..." Jane couldn't help but marvel, "This is so high-tech..."
The audience was equally surprised:
"Sure enough, it's the future world. Is intelligent AI really this widespread?"
"I heard the AI is called Chang'e, and it's from our Dragon Kingdom's technology. Makes me a little proud!"
"The developer really gets it, setting the background right in our Dragon Kingdom!"
"The 25th century, that's 400 years in the future! Technology should be this advanced by then!"
...
"It appears the user's brain may be damaged. Initiating self-examination now," Chang'e said again, responding to Jane's words. The bracelet emitted a burst of purple light, quickly scanning over Jane.
"A slight concussion was detected. Otherwise, the user's body is healthy. The short-term memory loss is likely due to the shock. Please do not worry."
"Uh, I don't have amnesia, I'm just... in a game," Jane was speechless, subconsciously wanting to explain to Chang'e that she was a player. But she quickly realized—she's in a game!
Everything around her was so realistic that it almost felt like an illusion.
"To ensure the user's survival, please check the escape pod for any usable materials," Chang'e instructed. "Also, please pay attention to the lower right corner of your field of vision; it represents your current physical condition."
Jane immediately looked at the lower right corner and saw four status bars, representing health, hunger, hydration, and oxygen levels.
Finally, Jane felt like she was playing a game. She obediently stopped admiring the scenery outside and returned to the cabin. After some searching, Jane found a knife, a flashlight, a backpack, and a complete diving suit in a storage cabinet, but nothing else.
"Unfortunately, there is no food or water," Chang'e's voice came again. "To survive, I suggest the user go to the sea to catch fish."
"Go to the sea?!" Jane exclaimed. "Seriously?"
Although she knew this was an underwater game, the prospect of going into the sea made her scalp tingle with anxiety. The game's realism made entering the sea feel no different from doing so in real life.
And one more thing.
"I don't know how to swim..." Jane worried. She had been a landlubber all her life and had never learned to swim, let alone snorkel!
"Users need not worry, I will teach you how to snorkel," Chang'e replied calmly. "Now, for your own safety, please proceed."
The audience and Jane were stunned by Chang'e's capability. Could this AI really teach someone to swim?
"Alright, I'll give it a try!" Jane resolved, gritting her teeth.
She donned her diving suit and helmet and opened the hatch beneath the escape pod. Taking a deep breath, she jumped into the vibrant blue water.
Splash!
The somatosensory suit's performance was perfectly showcased by the game. Jane immediately felt the water envelop her body, the waves caressing her skin with a delicate and soothing sensation. The sea's temperature was warmer than she anticipated.
In her field of vision, Jane saw layers of reef rock adorned with colorful mushrooms and aquatic plants. Around her, small, oddly-shaped fish swam by.
"Wow, this underwater world is stunning!"
"Feels like I'm watching a nature documentary!"
"Look at that purple mushroom!"
"And that fish, it looks like a flying saucer!"
...
The viewers were thrilled. The underwater scene was almost identical to Earth's oceans, except for the unfamiliar marine life.
"You are fortunate. Your current location is a shoal," Chang'e informed her. "The shoal area has many small fish, and the likelihood of encountering large predatory fish is low."
Meanwhile, Jane, submerged in the sea, was too focused to appreciate the beauty around her. She held her breath, her face turning red as she flailed her arms and legs, sinking rapidly.
Seeing Jane's struggle, the audience realized something was amiss:
"Jane, breathe! It's a game; you can breathe!"
"Yes, you can even talk!"
"Jane, stay focused!!!"
