Chapter 5

Accompanied by a commanding male voice: "Open the door now. I want to see who's bullying my sister."

I knew it was my brother who had arrived.

Kellan peered through the peephole and recognized who it was. He excitedly told Melody, "Melody, your brother is here."

"He never gave me a second glance at the company all this time, but now he's come over specially on New Year's Eve. Does this mean he's finally accepting me deep down?"

The mother-in-law also heard the voice outside: "Son, I don't think that's what he means. Why is he talking about someone bullying his sister?"

Kellan shot me an irritated glance: "It's all because of this bitch. My brother-in-law must have found out that Vivienne, this slut, has been bullying Melody."

He then declared to me self-righteously: "Vivienne, you're finished."

Kellan was too excited to notice that Melody's expression had changed.

I replied directly to him: "We'll see about whether I'm finished or not, but I know you're about to be. If you've got the guts, let him in."Kellan turned to open the door upon hearing my words:

"Fine, I was considering letting you off easy for old times' sake, but now it seems you need to learn your lesson the hard way, you ungrateful wretch."

But just as he touched the doorknob, another hand suddenly appeared on it.

Melody pleaded, "Honey, can we not open the door?"

Kellan was puzzled. "Why not, darling? Don't worry, your brother is surely here to stand up for you. Besides, you're pregnant now, so he's bound to be at his most sympathetic. He might even accept me too."

Yeah, right. Of course she didn't want to open the door.

Once the door opened, her true identity as an impostor would be exposed.

Nash, the son of Thornton Corporation, frequently appeared on various media platforms, his face unmistakable.

Everyone knew him, but Melody's case as an impostor was different.

The moment she faced her "Brother," everything she had carefully constructed would crumble.

Melody remained silent, the atmosphere tense and unyielding.

With her "Brother" already here, there was no point in pretending anymore.

So, I said, "Of course she doesn't want to open the door."Because once the door opens, her facade as the Thornton Corporation heiress would crumble."

Kellan, upon hearing this, burst into laughter.

After laughing, he didn't forget to insult me: "You crazy woman, what are you raving about here? If Melody isn't the Thornton Corporation heiress, are you saying you are? I think you're just jealous of Melody and that's why you keep slandering her."

I shot him a glance: "You're right, the real Thornton Corporation heiress is actually me."

"But it doesn't matter anymore. From the moment you hit me, I decided I wouldn't let you off the hook."

Kellan laughed even harder, and even my in-laws joined in the laughter.

Father-in-law: "You've been married into our family for three years. Don't you think we'd know if you were the Thornton Corporation heiress? If you really were the Thornton Corporation heiress, how is it possible that not a single member of the Thornton family has visited us in three years?Mother-in-law: "It's still daylight, how are you already dreaming? Oh my, don't tell me my son knocked your head silly."

Kellan stopped laughing and said mockingly:

"Don't think that talking like this will make me change my mind about opening the door. I know you're just afraid of being punished by Ms. Thornton, so you're spouting nonsense to try and get me to protect you. Let me tell you, it's not going to happen. I'm definitely opening this door no matter what."

Melody tried to stop him again, but this time she wasn't successful.

The door finally opened.
