The novel is boring; there's no action, it's all investigation, and there's nothing interesting about it. Plus, the protagonist is the typical one who stays quiet and doesn't clear up misunderstandings; he's a complete idiot. And I hate reading about child protagonists. I don't know if it gets better later on, but I'm not interested.
