chapter 5: Selina Sky 2

After a few hours, the infinity-S-2 stopped next to the gates of a Victorian-style mansion before the gate slowly opened itself, and the guards at the gate stepped to the side, allowing it access to enter the yard.

Once the car was inside, Selina turned off the engine and stepped out; as she stepped out, she was welcomed by a black-haired man who looked to be closer to her age.

The man wore a plain white dress shirt with black slacks and sneakers. He was quite handsome with a well-built body; the man had a smile on his face but quickly turned into a frown when he saw the panicked look on her face.

Selina practically threw herself in his arms, and he welcomed her, hugging her tightly before speaking.

"Is something the matter? Did the plan fail?"

His voice was smooth and gentle, combined with the slow back rub, he was giving her, which served well to calm her down; he also noted that it would be a bad idea to talk outside, so he ushered her inside the mansion.

Once they were inside the living room, both took their seats, and one of the maids within the house brought in a warm cup of tea that seemed to have been prepared in advance. She placed it on the table table, and Selina took it and took a sip to calm her nerves.

"Alright, all of you can leave this area; I don't want any eavesdropping."

He commands, and the maids present bowed and left or went outside; they knew something secret was going to be discussed, so they made themselves scarce. With the two now alone the man again asked.

"What happened?"

With a deep breath, Selina calmed herself further; the tea helped quite a lot; she placed the cup on the table and looked at him before speaking.

"The stupid idiot fucking jumped when I asked him to."

The man showed no outward reaction and remained calm; he recognized that panicking wouldn't help, or rather, he wasn't bothered by what she said.

"Isn't that a good thing, now he's out of the picture."

"The fuck you mean it's a good thing I caused a man to kill himself."

It seemed the tea wasn't working as well as it should, she practically shouted at the man.

Regardless of how she felt about the marriage with him, killing someone was a huge deal and she didn't want a burden like that on her conscience.

"Yeah, but now me and you can get married since that man is out of the picture and don't worry you won't be arrested. People of our status are above prison after all."

He calmly explained to her that, in a sense, he was indeed correct; the Sky family is quite influential within this city; her father had gotten away with a few crimes of a higher degree than what she did.

Hearing him say that did make her calm back down again; however, it did not get rid of the sense of guilt she was feeling right now.

"Yeah, you're right. Plus, I was wearing a mask and sunglasses, so nobody knew it was me."

"So, to everyone else, he got in a really expensive-looking car with a strange woman? Then you have nothing to worry about."

He spoke, reassuring her further that if nobody saw her face, then there was practically no case, although the car would be a problem, but that could be fixed.

After hearing what he said, Selina heaved a sigh, a rather big Sigh; at least she wouldn't go to prison, but the fact that she caused a man to kill himself would remain in her head.

"Thanks, Arthur"

The two then shared a hug that seemed to last a very long time.

....

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the cliff, a young man with black hair and blue eyes floated on the water as he stared up at the distant sky. His arms were crossed, and so were his legs. It was almost as if he was resting on a bed.

"Hadn't expected to be such a big lake down here and not one this deep."

He spoke to himself while looking around, it's been about an hour or two since he let himself fall, his initial conclusion wasn't that he was going to hit solid ground, but he didn't expect to plash into such a deep lake but from the height he fell from hitting water or concrete would have they been the same regardless for a normal person at least.

"Hmph, she was quite cute, not gonna lie."

He said, remembering the look of panic on her face as he fell, and he figured she must be freaking out right about now; though it would be best to have her notified that he was alive, he wouldn't want her getting some trauma because she thought it was her fault.

He pulled his phone from his pocket; the phone was completely waterproof and was undamaged because magic is just like that; he dialled the number for his dad and waited for him to answer.

<>

"Well, right now, I'm at the bottom of a cliff."

<< You mean the one just outside the city?>>

"Yeah, that one"

<< Get back here then, I need to go, I have a few things to check I won't be back for a few days>>

"Well, actually, Dad, I have something to do; I'll be at the hospital for maybe 5 or 6 days."

<>

"No, it's not like that, remember those 2 rich people that wanted me to marry their daughters because they found out about the existence of magic."

<>

"Well, one of the daughters asked me to Jump off a cliff."

Leon could hear the sigh from over the phone, and he could practically see his dad shaking his head in exasperation.

<>

Was all his dad said before dropping the call which made Leon smile, before lifting his arm up.

"Now, then, let's make it more believable."

However, before he could continue and harm himself just so a girl could like him, Leon noticed something off about the place.

The first indication that something wasn't right was the lack of spirits within the lake, specifically water spirits; there weren't even any water fairies or wandering spirits. Spirits are everywhere, so for there to be a place where there aren't any, it meant that something was up.

To an extent, he can understand why there wouldn't be any spirits, but fairies are everywhere, not to mention the little rascals are fearless, and there's no place they can't go.

So, for this place to have no fairies meant something was up, and the fairies were being cautious, or at the very least, Titania forbade them from coming here, but he had better things to do than invest in a random occurrence at the bottom of a cliff, so he proceeded to carry on with his plan.

Unfortunately, he was stopped as he felt movement beneath the water.

"huh?"

He exclaimed as he flipped himself and had his front submerged in the water; opening his eyes, he saw it.

A large serpent blue serpent with black eyes stared straight at him unflinchingly. His body tensed as it registered the beast's presence below. However, he quickly relaxed; although he couldn't tell its grade, he was sure he could eliminate it.

'relax it's just a snake'

He thought to himself as he withheld a sigh; he wasn't in the mood to fight a monster right now, although he berated himself for such carelessness. This is something he should have sensed or seen when he splashed into the water hours ago, which meant the creature was a master of stealth.

'it's not moving and just staring at me'

He thought and let his eyes wander before spotting the eggs at its centre.

'I see, sorry to bother you then'

He thought before he shot himself out of the water, causing a splash, and flew straight back to the top of the hill.

"I was down here for a whole hour or two and I didn't even notice, that's some crazy stealth"

He exclaimed although this was still carelessness on his part
