Chapter 08: Better Off Dead!

Not knowing where they'd end up going. Through the mirror was the only way possible to the Better Place. It didn't take long to get to where the mirror would take them. On the other side, was where Sandra and the Little Invisible Ghost Summoner didn't want to be.

The graveyard was dark and foggy under the glow of the full moon. They spotted the two witches digging up a grave in the graveyard next to a gargoyle statue. "So how do we know this Better Place is safe for me?" Sandra asked George the Little Invisible Ghost Summoner, beside her. They walked through the foggy path heading to the graveyard site, where the two witches seemed to ignore Sandra and her little ghost friend, floating toward them. Sandra jumped at the sound of wind blowing through the trees. heading to the graveyard site, where the two witches seemed to ignore Sandra and her little ghost friend, floating toward them.

Sandra wasn't ready to lose her old life behind her. Whatever plans the witches had for her, wasn't anything Sandra could handle by herself. Sandra jumped and screamed in fright. They watched a couple of crows fly up to the dead oak tree from the grass, next to them.

"We'll know soon enough, Sandra," George whispered, not taking his eyes off the two witches, in the middle of the graveyard. "I think these two ladies can help with your bathroom mirror problem," George explained.

Trying to get the two witches' attention, digging up a grave in the middle of the graveyard, Greg whistled and waved his arms wildly at them. A black crow popped out from behind the tombstone the two witches were digging up. And startled them, backing the one witch on the left, scream and drop her shovel into the half-empty dug up grave.

"What is your problem, Gene?!" Cookie the other, older mature witch yelled at her partner. Ignoring Cookie, Gene, the bad luck witch, jumped into the empty half-dug up grave. Grabbed hold of her musty old shovel. And tossed it over the half-dugged up grave. She hoisted herself back up to the top of the empty grave.

Dusting her black dress, Gene just grunted and snorted in reply. "Do you know what your problem is, Cookie?" Gene finally asked, grabbing hold of her shovel. Cookie the other mischievous witch shuddered and shook her head, she didn't know anything. "Why should nothing scare or get in your way," Gene said.

Taking a look at the full moon, Gene and Cookie gasped as they were covered in shadowy darkness in the graveyard again. As storm clouds covered the bright full moon. It was going to be midnight soon. They didn't have all night to prepare the portal leading from the Better Place to let out the ghosts wanting to cause chaos among the living in Supernaturalville.

Sandra could feel herself getting nervous and anxious as they got closer to where the two witches were digging in the darkness of the graveyard. George started to glow and took a physical human body! Sandra gasped! He was so handsome and couldn't imagine him ever having a human body, before!

"How are you able to have a human body, George?" Sandra asked her friend. Before George could respond, he pushed and shoved Sandra behind a tombstone in the path in the graveyard. Sandra screamed as George ducked behind the tombstone next to her.

"They shouldn't know about us, Sandra," George whispered. He put a finger to his lips to remain silent. They watched the clouds move past the full moon again, as it showed a path of light in the graveyard next to the two witches digging up a fresh empty grave.

Sandra couldn't help but ask: "Do they know something we shouldn't?" Sandra whispered to her friend, George. But he didn't keep his eyes from peeking over the tombstone they were behind. And seeing the two witches trying to almost finish digging up the grave in the middle of the graveyard, they were at.

Sandra gasped when he grabbed hold of George's left arm beside her. It was cold and hard as rock! "Does it bother you, you are one of the living undead?" Sandra whispered. George got mad and pushed her away from him.

Finally, Gene and Cookie, the two witches, finished digging the grave. Setting their shovels aside, they stared at the darkness in the graveyard, thinking about what to do next. "The little girl couldn't be hard to find," Gene said to her partner. "Where do you think she could be, right now?" she asked, Cookie.

Folding her arms in frustration, Cookie shrugged and didn't have a clue. "Maybe she's waiting back home, in her bathroom? Where would her mirror let out the ghosts haunting her bathroom mirror in Supernaturalville?" Cookie wondered, thoughtfully.

Sandra couldn't believe they would be looking for her! She lowered herself behind the tombstone, her friend, George was hiding behind. "They want to look for me, George!" Sandra said, angrily. "Because they know there is a connection with my bathroom mirror, being haunted by your ghost wanting to keep me out of my bathroom mirror," Sandra explained, trying to make sense of it all.

George couldn't let the witches find them. They had to get out of the Better Place. Before the witches got suspicious of their whereabouts in the graveyard. Beyond the darkest shadows of Sandra's bathroom mirror, where George's ghost is getting restless to keep out of the bathroom mirror alive.

Looking around the moonlight graveyard, Gene the witch started sniffing the air around her. "I smell something fresh in the Better Place," Gene explained, sniffing the tombstones in the path of the graveyard she walked in.

"Her scent is close by," Gene continued. This excited Cookie, her other partner. Cookie clapped and applauded. "It won't take me long to track down the girl, hiding somewhere nearby," Gene said.

Sandra didn't want to wait for them to discover her any longer. She popped her head out of the tombstone she and George were hiding behind. And grabbed hold of the two witches' attention! "Hey! Here I am! Come and get me if you can!" Sandra whined, and jumped over the tombstone she was behind.

Running around the two witches, next to the graveyard, this got the two witches, confused and upset. George looked at Sandra like she was losing her marbles. "That's not the way to get their attention, Sandra!" George shouted at Sandra.

It didn't matter what was to happen to Sandra. She kept hiding behind a different tombstone. She wanted to confuse the witches the girl was trying to hide herself from getting exposed to show herself to themselves.

Then, Cookie the mature witch grabbed hold of the shovel in her hand. "There is only one way to stop her," Cookie said. She hurtled the shovel at Sandra! It smacked her beside the back of her head, knocking the girl out cold!

Gene and Cookie both laughed and cheered and applauded themselves. George watched helplessly as the two witches walked over to the spot behind the tombstone where Sandra lay unconscious. They each held onto Sandra and dragged her over to where they were digging up the fresh new grave for her.

George couldn't let the ornery two witches bury his best friend alive! "I can't believe the world beyond the ghost mirror in Sandra's bathroom will finally be closed, for good!" Gene said, excitedly. "I told you there was nothing to worry about, didn't I?" she asked, setting Sandra's body beside the empty freshly made grave.

"I don't know what you two are thinking, but you are not going to harm my friend!" George perked up, getting their attention. George wasn't sure they knew anything about him. But they didn't like his interruption at all.

"What is that boy up to?" asked Cookie, the smart, mature, unfriendly witch snarled and flared her nostrils angrily. "You're not allowed in the cemetery after dark, kid!" she continued, sounding impatient.

"I have a connection with the ghost mirror in Sandra Starbright's bathroom," George said, sincerely. "You need my help to open and close the portal to the ghost mirror, not the girl's," George said. "Or it could upset the ghosts living amongst the ghost mirror in her bathroom. And would not like them once they get set loose in the real world," George said. Trying to explain to him in the best way possible.

The two witches didn't know what to believe. So, they pushed Sandra's body into the empty grave. And started to bury her alive, ignoring George. He couldn't believe what he was witnessing! There was nothing George could do but watch in horror.

It seemed they didn't care that George was there to make it worse. The two witches had to make sure Sandra didn't wake up. They kept screaming and hollering. The witches didn't stop cackling evilling the entire time they buried Sandra under her grave.
