chapter 8, Shane friend ll

"But I never said you were safe from me... hump," Jasmine said, hugging my left hand.

"What...? You just said that if I did anything to Princess, I would die. Doesn't that mean if I don't do anything, nothing will happen to me, right?" Despite her cheerful face, I couldn't shake the feeling of something hidden about their past.

I glanced at the clock and saw it was 12:16. Since it was lunchtime and we hadn't eaten yet, I invited Jasmine to go to the canteen. Robi, on the other hand, wasn't fond of eating with a lot of people, so he always ate alone on the rooftop of the building.

"Jasmine, let's go to the canteen to eat," I said with a smile.

"Um," Jasmine nodded in agreement.

On our way to the canteen, people couldn't help but stare at me. Before long, a man approached me.

"Hi miss," he said. This man had green hair, but his eyes were covered by a black cloth. The left side of the cloth, where his left eye, was slightly visible.

His sudden approach startled me. This was the man who was always with Samuel, the brother I mentioned earlier.

"U-uh, why?" I asked, slightly nervous, because Samuel had warned me to avoid this man whenever possible.

"I was just wondering if you've seen Samuel?" he asked me with a smile.

"Samuel? Um, I haven't seen him around." I said, looking directly at his left eye.

"Oh, okay. Thanks. Just tell Samuel that we're having a party later if you see him." He said this as he turned away. I nodded in respond and just turned to Jasmine, who had a frown on her face.

After Samuel's friend left, we headed to the canteen.

Jasmine, seeing my expression, asked, "shane, do you know that guy?"

I looked at Jasmine and said, "Not really. I just see him with my brother." I said with a smile.

I really didn't know that man. I just always saw him with Samuel. I didn't even know his name. But there must be a reason why Samuel didn't want me to know about these people. He didn't know how worried I was about him, what might happen to him because of the things his friends were doing outside.

Soon, we arrived at the canteen. We bought rice and adobo pork. I only bought a small amount of rice because I couldn't eat much here. It would ruin my image...

As we were eating, someone sat down in front of us. I was surprised because it was Robi. Robi, who usually didn't eat in the canteen, was now in front of us.

Jasmine, seeing this, looked at Robi with disapproval. She also said, "What are you doing here?"

"Why can't I be here? It's not like you're the one I'm going to be with." Robi replied, starting to eat.

I, amused by the two of them, smiled. "Jasmine, if it's okay with you, Robi can eat here so we can talk about what Ma'am assigned us," I said in a soft tone.

Because I convinced Jasmine, she didn't refuse even though she didn't like it.

During our conversation, I told them about the rules of the house.

Samuel, who didn't like other people in our house, would definitely refuse to let Robi and Jasmine come.

"Well, your brother is grumpy!" Jasmine said.

I just smiled at Jasmine's statement because it was true, especially if the person in question was me.

Robi, listening to my explanation, spoke. "Princess! Does your brother have any connection to the darkness?" He asked with a serious face.

I was surprised by his question. "Uh, I don't know. To be honest, my brother hasn't opened the spirit world." I replied. When the two heard this, they seemed surprised and fell silent.

Robi, who asked me the question, bowed and said, "I apologize for my question, Princess." When I saw this, I wasn't surprised because people without a spirit world have a low future. So even though they were my friends, they knew they had crossed the line.

"It's okay. You still don't know my brother, right?" I said to break the awkwardness between the three of us.

Jasmine, who was cheerful, was eager to listen. " tell us! What kind of brother is he?!"

"Um," Robi nodded, also wanting to know about Samuel.

"Okay, I'll start with how we met."

Samuel and I have known each other since we were children. We lived in an orphanage in Laguna Lumban. I lived there for seven years, and Samuel for eight. We were both adopted, but by different people.

Samuel, with his handsome and strong physique, was adopted by a martial artist in China. Meanwhile, I was adopted by a church in Kalayaan, Laguna.

Five years passed. Samuel's adoptive father was found dead in a DC raid in Shanghai (dimensional crack). Because of this, Samuel had no one to take care of him, so he had to return to the Philippines. Upon his return, all the martial artist's wealth went to him. He received $1,000,000 and a whole room full of books I didn't know what they were about, but he said they were about martial arts. Maybe that's why he's so good at fighting, even against a normal person.

Six and a half years had passed since I was adopted by the church. I had to leave because the church started to have a DC. All the priests and nuns died around that time. My new friends died in the sudden collapse of the church. Since I had nowhere to go, I needed a new place to live. I looked for three months for a place to live. I even ignored my birthday, just to find a place to stay. But one day, I found out Samuel was looking for me. Because of this, I looked for contact information about Samuel. It didn't take long because while I was looking for information, Samuel found me and let me stay in his... home. It wasn't big, but it was just right for two people. I was happy because I had a place to live and I could be with the man who had been gone for so long.

At the end of my story about Samuel, Shane was covering her mouth. What's wrong, Jasmine?

Robi soon spoke. "So, you were destined to be together." Robi said with his arms crossed. I could also sense he was thinking, as if he was remembering something.

At his words, I frowned because it seemed like he was referring to something else. Jasmine, who always disagreed with Robi, nodded. It seemed like they were trying to prank me.

To break their wrong assumptions, I said the truth. "But don't get the wrong idea. We don't have a romantic relationship." I said with a smile, my eyes even closed.

"Uhhh, how boring," Jasmine said, disappointment on her face.

This was the first time I heard Jasmine say this to me. 'But what can I do? This is the truth!.'

Unexpectedly, what happened that morning came back to me, the kiss on my forehead by Samuel.

For the second time, my face flushed.

Jasmine, seeing this, suddenly became cheerful again. She also said, "So we were right, HAHAHA." She said while even standing up and pointing at me.

"A-what?" I replied, my face flushed. The feeling from earlier came back. What's wrong with me?

"What what? It's obvious, right Robi," Jasmine replied, her hands on her hips.

Robi nodded and said, "So I was right."

"A-what? What did you say? When did you say that?" I replied, trembling because of what the two were saying. I couldn't believe they were teaming up for this kind of thing.

But at Robi's question, his words suddenly came back to me, about whether I would love someone from the darkness.

Jasmine added, "I thought I could have you all to myself, but you already have a man in your heart." She said with a smile and crossed arms, obviously enjoying my discomfort.

Robi joined in, "That's why I told you earlier that Princess has someone she likes." Robi imitated Jasmine's crossed arms and smile. It was only then that I noticed they looked a bit alike.

I tried to calm myself down and said, "But what I said is true. I only feel brotherly love for him, nothing more." I said this in a soft tone.

"How boring." Jasmine repeated what she did earlier. Robi, for the second time, imitated Jasmine. Robi and Jasmine nodded in unison. No one was behind, no one was ahead.

'These two... sigh.... But even I don't know what this new feeling is. Ha~ whatever...'

We finished eating and went to our classroom. After four and a half hours, we finished all our classes.

"Guys, you know my brother doesn't like other people in the house. So you can only stay for 30 minutes." I said.

Jasmine and Robi understood this, so they nodded.

On our way to my house, it took us half an hour to get there.

"I'm home!" Shane shouted.

"So you live here, baby girl!" Jasmine said in a cheerful tone.

"There are only you and your brother in this house?" Robi said while looking inside.

"Yes, it's just me and Samuel here. As we talked about earlier, you can only stay here for 30 minutes because if my brother finds out I brought people home, he'll get angry." I said while taking off my coat, leaving only my socks.

Before we got to the sofa, we saw Samuel standing, holding food in both hands.

"How was school, Shane?" he asked me with a smile.

"U-um Samuel, I'll explain." I asked worriedly.

"Explain what? Come in and sit down," he said. I didn't answer, I saw him put down the two foods he cooked, grilled cheese and crackers, and pancakes. As he put down the two foods, he added, "Why didn't you introduce me to your friends?"

I was surprised because this was different from what I expected. "Huh?"

"Hm?" Samuel replied. What's going on with him? He's been acting strange since this morning.

Robi, wanting to see Samuel, was the first to introduce himself. "My name is Robi San Jose." As he introduced himself, he put his hand on his chest. I don't know why he did that, but I think it was like showing respect?

Jasmine followed, with a cheerful face, she said, "Good afternoon, Mr. Samuel."

'Mr. Samuel? What is that, Jasmine?' I said, surprised by the sudden actions of the two.

Samuel smiled at what my friends did, but I noticed he didn't pay much attention to what Robi and Jasmine did and immediately turned to me.

"You don't have to worry, but it would be better if you told me earlier." When I said this, the fear I felt that Samuel might be angry at me disappeared.

Have you really changed, Samuel? But why does it feel so sudden?

"Um," I replied, looking down and smiling. Samuel took my hand and led me to the sofa.

When we were seated, he offered me the pancakes and grilled cheese and crackers. I took them, my face slightly flushed.

Samuel looked at my friends. "Sit down and eat, feel free in the house." He said with a smile.

The two sat down on the other sofa and started eating.

Samuel stood up and asked the two, "What do you drink? Juice or coffee?"

Robi and Jasmine looked at each other briefly and then looked at Samuel. "We're okay with coffee." Jasmine said.

"Don't be a decision demon of an angel. Just juice for me," Robi said with a smile.

"Okay, wait for me here, I'll get it." When Samuel said this, he went to the kitchen to get the coffee. I saw him heating the water.

While Samuel was gone, Jasmine asked, "Baby girl, your brother isn't like what you told us earlier." She asked while looking at Samuel. She also shouted that she wanted something sweet.

I looked down and said, "I don't know. He's been acting like that since this morning. He seems like a different person, but I feel like it's still him. I can't tell." As I said this, Jasmine came closer to me.

"Maybe he just found out you're going to steal me from him." Jasmine said with a smile.

Robi stood up and went to Samuel. I don't know why, but it seemed like he wanted to talk to Samuel.

By the way, Robi said something earlier. Based on what he said earlier, that I have someone I like, but from the darkness? Don't tell me he's referring to Samuel?

It's not true, but why do I feel like it's true?
