EIGHT: INTO THE BADLANDS

The revelation was a shocker for Akin and made him realise the darkness and the depth of the power play among the upper echelons of Jefferson. This made him realise how crucial and powerful his role as an overseer of the major force of Jefferson was, and the reason he was being targeted so fiercely. His very existence is an upset to the existing power balance and even the four advisors who had not made a stand concerning his life and death must not be fond of him too since he had potentially taken some of their influence away. Bones had told him most of his information about Scorpio's betrayal had come from his master, Capone, who is close friends with the advisor Scorpio had a deal with. Of course, Akin had also caught onto the reason why Bones would give him that much information, and he had told the sly fox he'd give his full support when he needed it in the future.
