Hunt (Mass release end)

Everyone froze in silence.

The sight on the screen made their heart palpate in fear. They could listen to their own heartbeat and it is telling them to just give up everything and tell her what she wants.

And many of them agreed with it. The problem is that most of them don't know shit. They knew who Ayaan Rakshit is and they knew their organization is targeting him, but they didn't know anything beyond that.

They didn't know the involvement of the mediator and they didn't know anything about the coverup of the IGP. And worst of all, they don't know shit about their secret owner. Hence, the prefix of 'Secret' when they addressed him.

They know instinctively that only the people of the headquarters knew this information and they also seemed to share the same feeling as the rest.

"I… I know about the mediator. As far as I know, we only have one to deal with any sort of illegal activity. Whether it is extortion, or smuggling that needs the cooperation of different officers across the states. If an IGP is involved, we most certainly used him."

A man who looked to be a tad bit older than the rest of the group spoke up.

"YOU… WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?" The CEO turned to his right and yelled. That's where he found this traitor who sold them out.

Dia ignored his yelling and snapped her fingers. Two men came and took away the guy who agreed to confess. The moment he was taken away, the others also soon collapsed.

More and more people agreed to volunteer and they were all taken away one by one. But their information was limited. They only knew about the mediator. They didn't know who put up the hit and they definitely didn't know their secret owner.

The screen also changed. Almost ten people who were taken away could be seen on the screen. Each of them were placed in different rooms. They were treated normally, there were no forceful measures, no torture.

Seeing this, people who didn't know the information Dia demanded felt a bit helpless.

"I… I have other information. I can tell you about the future plans, financials, prime targets and underground dealings we have with some international clients. Pl.. please let me go."

"Yes, yes. I do too. Secret stash of cash and other resources, special contacts on international level. I know of these as well. I will tell you."

Dia halted in her tracks as she saw more and more people tried to appease to her, thinking that she was moved.

"So, none of you guys have anything about what I asked?"

She asked, her tone calm and casual. They all nodded and agreed.

*SNAP*

With a snap of her fingers a bunch of soldiers came out of darkness and stood in front of those people who agreed. This time, these people weren't taken away. They were left to be there. The soldiers took out their knives and repeated the exact same process that Dia has implemented on the first woman.

Screams rang through the whole hall.

The remaining people who stayed silent until now started sweating. Some even peed in their pants. They didn't think that Dia will act this cruel.

"T..This is ridiculous. This is illegal."

One of them muttered. But even as he did, he realized how low his voice was. He couldn't even speak about it out loud, in the fear of whatever happening to others might be subjected on him.

They didn't know what to do. Even if they wanted to talk, they didn't know anything and once they made that clear, they are being cut open and bathed in calcium chloride.

They gulped in nervousness.

Dia still nonchalantly walked as if she was enjoying some pleasant music. When she was about to pass by the CEO, he spoke.

"You are committing the biggest mistake of your life."

"Pray tell. How did we do that?"

"You don't know who you are messing with. Whatever you are doing now… whatever cruelty that you are trying to portray, that man does this when he gets bored. He kills people when they look him the wrong way.

At least, that is what I heard."

"Heard? So, you don't even know this secret owner? Is that what you are telling me?"

"Yes. I don't know who it is. The only contact we had is through the mediator. The same mediator you are asking about."

"So, you got the details of the hit through him."

"Yes."

The CEO just gave it up.

"Seems like you are ready to speak. I guess, what we are doing does work after all."

She snapped her fingers and sent him away.

"Do we have fifteen people, guys?" She asked the soldiers and they gave her a positive answer.

"Then, we don't need the rest. You can finish them off."

She snapped her fingers and the soldiers moved, each to a chair with a bag of Calcium chloride.

.

Half an hour later.

Dia walked out of a warehouse in the outskirts with two stacks of papers.

Ayaan was waiting for her, as he sat on the motorcycle, gazing at the afternoon sky. His face as calm as ever. But Dia could feel it.

The aura around him is cold. The hot sun of the afternoon couldn't even mask it. She just shivered as she inched closer to him.

"Here sir. We got the details of the mediator. We had some trouble running his profile, but we managed to get the information on him. His name is Shivan, a resident of Kanna state. After some digging we found out that he acts as a power broker."

"Power broker? Literal?" Ayaan asked as he took the papers. There was a photo of a man on the first one. Shivan.

A man in his late thirties. Slightly bald, a bit chubby and with a scruff beard.

"Literal power broker among other powers. He was definitely not limited to power plants and projects. Any big deal that happened in the last five years in the Kanna state, he had a cut. He was deeply involved with the ruling party over there.

However…" Dia paused.

"He went missing?"

Ayaan asked, finishing her words.

"Yes, sir. The very night we acted against the Black Dog, he disappeared. He took a private flight out of the country to Albionis, Britholm city to be precise.

I contacted our Agent there. But we don't have any information yet.

The problem with this is that only this mediator knows the secret owner of the Black dog.

I sent the details to Raj to find out if this is the mediator that dealt with our case…"

"Don't bother. I will take care of it myself. Did you have the Black Star order with you?"

Dia gave the second stack of papers to Ayaan. He took a pen from her and signed it.

"I will be on my way to deal with them. So, be quick."

Ayaan then walked in. He passed through the hall where the torture is still going on. Walked for a couple of minutes before he stopped at the interrogation room. Fifteen people are on the other side of the glass wall. Some sitting at the table, some walking around, some just standing.

He clicked a button the wall and they could see him standing there as well.

They were about to step forward and talk, but Ayaan just pressed a few more buttons. A gas started pumping inside. The people inside started choking. At that moment…

*CLICK*

*CRACKLE*

*BOOM*

With a faint explosion, the gas ignited, setting everyone on fire.

The same notification was repeated for fifteen times. Including the CEO, all the witnesses of Black dog who confessed are dead.

Dia came running inside and looked at the scene in shock.

Ayaan turned around and walked past her.

"Is it done?"

"Yes, sir. The Black Star Order is out" She replied almost as if she was on autopilot. She looked as if the people burned and not even their screams could be heard through the glass.

She then looked at Ayaan's receding back. She knew Ayaan was going to kill him. There was no way he could let go of his anger that easily after the recent revelations. But she didn't know he would be this cruel.

She could only wonder what he will do to the IGP and the other police officers involved.

Ayaan got back into the city, he rode towards the city police station. The station where the DSP and his subordinates who screwed up Maya's case were working from.

At the same time, just a few minutes before he reached the station, the fax machine in the station spit out a document and the mobile phones of all the officers involved got an alert.

Except for the mobile phones of five officers that are involved in the case. Every officer that got the alert looked at their phones and them in shock.

The message just said one thing.

"The Officers listed below are now suspended from their duties, effective immediately, and should be under arrest for the Intelligence team to take over their custody, for the crimes that cannot be revealed.

If they are in your presence, detain them and await for the intelligence team representatives to arrive.

If they resist, you are permitted to use force."

Even before they could react, Ayaan's motorcycle stopped in front of their station.
