What's there not to love? Pokemon! Poison types! Dark types! Normal types! Fisti-cuffing Pokemon, clan politics, region politics, gym badges, and more! Pictures and spycraft galore! All to top it off with some good ole social buffoonery. As any proper MC knows, making mistakes occasionally, and not being perfect is the way to the top! On to some more serious information, I'm hesitant to rate this as strong to stronger, even if it will seem like that at the start. Janine DID have a year to train her starter, but the problem is... well, that doesn't mean too much. There's still a very long way to go. In truth however, the real struggles will begin when she reaches the level of Gym Leaders or around there, pushing past the wall, or languishing forever in the mediocrity of 'merely' being one of the top 10000 or so trainers in the entire world. (The World Coronation series really did have a bunch of Gym Leaders not even breaching the top 1000, crazy world.)
