In the blue room the Spaniard was more comfortable, with a body, even if it was imaginary, Ikky felt much better; his reunited and concentrated self was no different from his time in the tutorial; perhaps the science fiction environment was the only thing that told him that all of this was not real, that it was something that only happened in his head.

Consciousness and the perception of one's own body were something that were more closely linked than one might expect, while without a body a large part of Ikky's effort was to avoid disintegrating and getting lost, that physical body, even if it was imaginary, served to keep his entire mind unified and under control.
