Chapter 11: Madison

Just my luck, I groaned inwardly. I caught the very man I had to impress in a foul mood.

I was just about to make my exit discreetly, before he could catch sight of me—I’ll take my chances and call Candice later to make that appointment—but as fast as lightning, Candice stood up and came around the desk to grab my arm.

“Good morning, Mr. Hayes!” She greeted him brightly, drawing his attention to us. With my escape plan ruined, I remained helplessly by Candice’s side as the CEO turned to us.

His eyes took me in critically, I felt pinned to the wall behind me at the intensity of his stare. Lightning bolted through my blood, sending boiling warmth into the pit of my belly. This man was the very definition of the words sensual and hot.

How do any of the women here get work done with so much sexual appeal in the very next room? It was probably a good thing he wasn’t the one I’d work for if I got this job.
