Chapter 12: Madison

I wished this elevator could move faster so I could rush home, jump into my bed, and cry. I felt my phone vibrate. It was a message from my mother. I wasn't ready to face whatever she sent me just yet, so I slipped my phone back into my purse with the message unopened.
