Alternative Title: Wait, What Do You Mean I Got Reincarnated as a Heroine in Another World?! — And Now I Have to Save the Kingdom as a Healer Prodigy and Magician While Pretending to Be a Noble Lady Even Though I Was a Shut-In Doctor Back Home.

Follow Kairi Izumi—a quiet, eccentric, and somewhat conspicuous girl— who never felt like anything but an NPC in a story. Working behind the scenes, unnoticed by others had always been part of her daily life, dwelling with medicine and toxins.
So, it's not surprising that she wasn't tad attractive according to others.
That is, until one day... that guy, he confessed to me.
Wait a minute—doesn't that mean I'm a heroine now? Hang on, how is that even possible? Me? Heroine? No way! I’m just a girl from a small village who likes to help others. I don’t particularly stand out, and compared to the other girls, I’m not even that attractive.
And so, a question lingers, driving the unfolding of this dumbfounding narrative forward:
Wait, what do you mean I got reincarnated to be a heroine?
That's weird because usually a heroine is not strong let alone smart - they are usually dumb, cute and pretty. Definitely not me. I mean, how is that possible? Me? Heroine? No way!
Deleted the previous one because of typo. Alright so, I wonder if this is myself being shameless or simply wanted to be honest about what I really think about this story using reader and author's perspective. Admittedly, I always said to myself, "No, this is not enough. I will have to do more." and here I am, thinking that something has always been lacking in any story, as I accidentally found the way to improve in every chapter, with the latest one will be dropped later. I'm not sure what this story will be but there are a lot of things to offer for this story, one of them will be a fresh air among these abundant and overused tropes and genres, a gradually slow but stable story development while still being fluid despite establishing a certain structure. Second, numerous plot twists, world-building (obviously), and character developments that will be gradually revealing and somewhat foreshadowing as I commit to make this fantasy something that no one has ever seen it before, with the gradual transition between light and dark fantasy, it has potentials to be developed even further, but means nothing if I never work for it. At last, please support this story in anyway possible. This is not me demanding you, but it is me concerned about you, the reader, who has read this story but barely hasn't done anything to support it. Alright, that's all and thank you.
I enjoy the vague, fractured tapestry that is the protagonist's narration at the beginning of this story. An odd amalgamation of half-remembered memories coupled with immediate fourth wall-breaking and a humorous reference greets the reader, welcoming them into the story by using the odd narration to provide a sense of relatability, attaching this factor to the protagonist and constructing a bridge out of it, recovering from the gap of confusion this type of narration might fall into and, through the journey across, transforming the reader's puzzlement into curiosity. This introduction provides the perfect segway into the later chapters as information about the world, magic system, and science references serving as inspiration for the magic system are delivered rapidly, requiring the careful attention elicited by the feeling of curiosity the first chapter already paved the way for and instilled in the reader. This method of introducing the world to the reader doesn't suffer from the "info-dumping" problem a lot of other novels, especially Isekai, suffer from, for two main reasons. First, the information is a mix of history and fiction, so some of it is based on real languages and countries, which means the reader doesn't have to memorize entirely new terms. Second, those that are fictional have a concrete, meaningful connection to the story. This storytelling is already flawless. But while describing the environment and sensations of the protagonist, Kairi Veylith, through analogies and metaphorical symbolism does draw the reader in, the lack of specific descriptiveness doesn't keep the reader engrossed and instead kicks them back out. Often times I can't visualize the room or environment a scene is occurring in. This is unfortunate because you've already succeeded in getting me interested in visualizing the environment of the story, but now I can't. In a way, however, the lack of physical descriptors and abundance of symbolic parallels and metaphors come together to create a personable and creative dynamic, wherein the protagonist becomes an unreliable narrator through their absent-mindedness and external obliviousness. It keeps them rattled and confused, but the reader intrigued, and the problem of a lack of physical descriptiveness of the environment is solved in the scenes of Kairi's past life, and fades to the periphery when the writing becomes more humorous and casual, beginning in the fourth chapter. The scientific inspiration serving as the foundation of the story's magic system is elucidated well in Chapter 7. The computer science references are outright noticed by the scientifically-minded protagonist. The abilities characters are able to manifest relate to and counter each other in ways much more intricate than "water countering fire" or something like that you'd encounter in other magic systems. It gets you imagining scenarios in which they compete with each other. Some abilities are only useful if used in anticipation of another ability being used, which keeps you cautious. I look forward to how these ideas are stressed as the story progresses especially as the protagonist is thrown into the mysteries surrounding what happened to Kairi before she took over her life, but if you want useful meta-commentary make sure to check the Creators' Thoughts section at the end of every chapter. Stay with it to Chapter 11 to see the story and its mysteries to start really coming together.
Wait, What You Mean I Got Reincarnated As A Heroine In Another World? is a fresh, self-aware twist on the isekai and heroine tropes, offering a protagonist who would much rather work behind the scenes than be the center of attention. I like it on how she starts questioning everything. Is she really meant to be a heroine? Or is this some kind of mistake? The synopsis hints at a meta, comedic tone, playing on the idea that heroines in typical stories are pretty, somewhat naïve, and effortlessly charming—everything Kairi is not. This makes for an engaging premise: a reluctant, intelligent, and unconventional heroine trying to figure out how the heck she ended up in this role. Strengths: ✔ Self-Aware and Subversive – The story seems to poke fun at traditional heroine tropes in romance and isekai, making it stand out from typical reincarnation stories. ✔ Unconventional Protagonist – Kairi is smart, introverted, and more of a background character, making her struggle to fit into the “heroine” role both relatable and entertaining. ✔ Lighthearted and Comedic – The tone suggests a fun, possibly satirical take on the genre rather than a dramatic or serious one. ✔ Potential for Unique Romance – If the love interest falls for Kairi because of her quirks rather than despite them, it could lead to a refreshing, natural romance. Final Thoughts: For readers who love meta, subversive takes on the isekai and romance genres, Wait, What You Mean I Got Reincarnated As A Heroine In Another World? looks like an entertaining and refreshing read. With a reluctant protagonist, a comedic self-aware narrative, and an unconventional approach to the heroine trope, this story promises plenty of humor, charm, and unexpected romance. Highly recommended for fans of lighthearted, self-aware isekai, unconventional romance, and stories where the “wrong” person gets thrown into the spotlight.
A reincarnated doctor from modern world. being transferred into a fantasy world? I just know she's going to use her medical skills and knowledge there, also, an academy life :3 I like academy settings like this. it's also interesting that they all have own unique abilities. New characters keeps popping out, I'm surprised the author can think of that many names :v It has a good start, like just waking up from a dream, it was good :3 recommended if you like slice of life and academy life genres ヾ(*’O’*)/
I love these healer types of isekai stories so I might’ve a bias, but what a truly well written start, I am all in!
This is the first novel i am reading on this website and honestly, this seems really worth it. I thought it is just a random isekai but this is far better than those random isekai's. Looking forward to the story!
The main character knows about the truck-kun and is getting isekai'd. No wonder that part was the thing that engaged me for reading. Ayy, that's cheating. The MC knew about what getting isekai'd means?
Reveal Spoiler
VERY INTERESTING PREMISE. MC reminds me of maomao for some reason. perhaps it is due to their medicinal expertise im not quite sure. Reading the early chapters felt like a breath of fresh air from all of these generic system webnovels. We actually got a protagonist that doesn't seem too overly overpowered!
a female waifu character thats smart, thats rare and heck its relieving to be honest, because i dont wanna read half of an extra chapter where the mc explains the shit to his waifu in baby terms like other novels, in any case jokes aside its really captivating with jokes at the right place. About thr sus parts, i def aint talking about it, wont want anyone here know my kinks heh jk. I liked it
very interesting story premise, expecting good things from this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm about to read hehe............................................................................................................................................................
So i am on chapter 7 right now, and i commend the author for coming up with such names of characters, the world building is slow and good, the storyline up to now has been really good.
I don't read a lot of romance, and that's a fact, but this is a whole different story. It mixes fantasy in that caught my attention, and then has the lovey-dovey stuff on top for those who prefer that. To make things better, it actually has proper grammar! Imagine that, good writing for a Webnovel!
Its a novel that has a good writing personality and clearly an Author who wants to show the world what he can do. Id say give it a go. Although it isnt similar to most others, that doesn't have to be a bad thing (Atleast when it comes to the beginning).
