After returning to the small town of Puente Antiguo, Kagura Hitomi waved goodbye to Natasha Romanoff and decided to take a stroll around the town before heading back to the hotel.
Tony Stark, after some "persuasion" from Agent Coulson, had decided to help S.H.I.E.L.D. investigate Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor.
Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan also received requests to assist in the investigation.
Though Pepper was furious and scolded Tony over the phone, especially feeling it was unfair to Kagura, the mysterious hammer from space falling so openly in New Mexico was no small matter.
After much consideration, Pepper still agreed to help S.H.I.E.L.D. by coordinating the transportation of equipment.
"I'm sorry, Hitomi. We'll have to finish helping Agent Coulson with the investigation before we continue our family trip. The hotel room is ready, so you can head back and rest. But if you go out, be sure to stay safe," Pepper had left a message.
"I understand. Thanks for your concern, Pepper," Kagura replied in a message, then walked alone down the quiet streets of the town, casually trying to find Thor.
By all accounts, since Mjolnir had already landed, Thor himself should have already arrived on Earth.
So, the mighty Asgardian prince, the god of thunder, should be somewhere in this town.
Recalling her memories of the original MCU, Kagura thought Thor was likely to be found at the astronomical research institute, where Dr. Erik Selvig and Jane Foster worked.
In Kagura's memories, they had a close connection with Thor: Dr. Selvig was Thor's close friend, and Jane was his girlfriend.
However, when Kagura arrived at Dr. Selvig's institute, she found it eerily empty.
Well... it's fine, Jane and Thor were going to break up eventually anyway, right?
So, not a big deal. No need to panic! (Not that it would help…)
Looks like, in the course of investigating Mjolnir, Coulson and S.H.I.E.L.D. had not only taken away Dr. Selvig and Jane's research equipment and materials but also removed the researchers themselves.
Well then, the next question is... where is Thor?
Kagura scratched her head, thinking, Ugh, looks like I'll have to check the hospital.
'Maybe he's locked up there as a drunk homeless guy, though I'm not too hopeful.'
While muttering to herself, the silver-haired girl turned toward the town's hospital.
'BANG— !'
Just as Kagura was thinking about how to find Thor, she heard a loud crash from a nearby café.
Then, a deep, rugged, yet magnetic male voice reached her ears, "This drink is quite good, I really like it! Give me another!"
'BANG— !'
The sound of a cup breaking followed.
"Hey! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
"What's the problem? I just thought the food was great, the drinks were amazing, and I wanted another round!"
Kagura looked toward the sound, where a tall, muscular man in a T-shirt and jeans, with blond hair and blue eyes, was arguing with the café owner.
"You could just say so! Why throw things around? Are you out of your mind?" The café owner yelled, pointing at the man.
"You dare speak to the prince of Asgard like that?" The blond man stood up, looking haughty.
"What kind of prince? You're clearly out of your mind!" The café owner argued back.
"Pay up! You broke things!"
"Pay? Hah!" The blond man scoffed.
"The people of Midgard are so foolish and small-minded, stingy and petty. I need more food! Serving me is your honor, and after I've eaten my fill, I'll ensure you get your due reward."
"Get out! I'm not serving a lunatic who's trying to skip on the bill!"
"Are you threatening me? You've got quite the nerve!"
That's it! It's you!
The foolish but lovable god, Thor!
Kagura quickly stepped forward, rushing into the café.
"Wait, wait! No fighting! No fighting!"
She pulled the two men apart, then turned to the café owner.
"Sorry about this. My friend here is a bit... country, has delusions of grandeur, and his brain isn't all there. He doesn't know better."
Saying that, Kagura took a $100 bill out of her pocket and handed it to the café owner.
"I'll cover the cost of the things he bought and the broken items. I'm really sorry."
The café owner hesitated, looking at Kagura.
"You'd better keep him under control. But since you're young and pretty, I'll let this slide. If he causes any more trouble, I'll call the cops."
"Sorry again," Kagura lowered her head. "Sorry for the trouble."
...
"Miss, thank you for helping me out. My name is Thor Odinson. Mind telling me yours?"
Thor seemed to have finally realized the situation, calming himself down.
He then said to Kagura, "It wouldn't be right not to know the name of the person who saved me."
"Ah, I'm Kagura Hitomi," Kagura sighed, hands on her hips.
"You really don't know how to talk to people, do you, Prince of Asgard?"
Kagura gestured for Thor to sit at a nearby table.
"Earth is an egalitarian, free, and easy-going society. We don't just throw things around. People like you, acting wild, would be considered crazy here."
"You have a point," Thor nodded.
"It seems I've been mistaken for a lunatic... By the way, you knew who I was?"
"Heh, no! I'm not from Asgard, Prince," Kagura laughed.
"But didn't you just claim to be the prince of Asgard yourself?"
"Do you believe me?" Thor leaned closer to Kagura, narrowing his eyes.
"Everyone here refuses to believe that I'm the god they worship."
"Well…" Kagura smiled sweetly.
"First off, humans on Earth don't really believe in you much anymore. And second, I believe you."
"Uh…" Thor wasn't sure how to respond.
"Well, in any case, I really appreciate your help, Miss Kagura. Your beauty surpasses that of most of the goddesses in Asgard."
"Haha, it's nothing. Thanks for the compliment. So, what do you want to eat now?"
Kagura waved her hand happily.
"Tell me about your story, Prince of Asgard."
