Lana stepped into the sleek, modern office building, her heart racing with anticipation. She had made it past the intimidating interview with Ethan Blackwood, and now she was ready to start her new job as Ethan's personal assistant .

As she walked through the bustling office, Lana couldn't help but feel overwhelmed . Everyone seemed to know each other, and the air was thick with the hum of gossip and speculation.

Victoria, the woman who had previously held Lana's position as Ethan's assistant, greeted her with a tight smile. "Welcome Lana", she said, her voice dripping with insincerity. "I'll be showing you the ropes and helping you get settled in"

Lana's instincts prickled as she followed Victoria through the winding corridors. There was something about Victoria's manner that seemed off, something that made Lana feel like she was walking on eggshells.

"I'm now the head of HR", Victoria explained,as they But I'll be keeping a close eye on you, to make sure you're up to par".

Lana felt a surge of unease at Victoria's words. It sounds like Victoria was going to be monitoring her every move, and Lana wasn't very sure she liked that.

Finally, Victoria stopped in front of Ethan's office door. "This is it", she said, her voice curt. "Ethan's office". "You'll be spending alot of time in here".

Lana's heart sank as she pushed open the door and stepped in. The office was sleek and modern, but it felt cold and impersonal.

Ethan looked up from his desk,his eyes narrowing as he watched her. "Ah, Lana",he said,his voice devoid of warmth. "Welcome to your new job."

Lana felt a shiver run down her spine when she met Ethan's gaze. She couldn't believe she was going to be working for this cold, calculating man.

"I expect you to be ready to start work immediately", Ethan said, his voice dripping with disdain. "I don't pay you to stand around and look pretty".

Lana's temper flared at his words, but she bit back her retort. She wasn't going to let Ethan get under her skin.

"I'm ready to start," her voice cool and detached.

Ethan's eyes seemed to bore into her soul,as if searching for any sign of weakness. But Lana stood her ground, refusing to back down.

Finally, Ethan nodded,a small,cold smile playing on his lips. "Good",he said. "I'll be watching you closely".

Lana felt a shiver run down her spine as she met Ethan's gaze. She knew she was in for a tough ride.
