Chapter 56: W T F?

Noah didn't know that after they left, the members of the American Ministry of Magic that he had been talking about appeared and said some inexplicable words.

He was now controlling his own magic power to rush directly to the scene of the incident. To be honest, doing this really consumed a lot of mana—no, it was magic power.

Without the help of the Floo Network, Noah could only rely on his own magic to find the location. Fortunately, the place where the incident happened was not far away, and his magical power had already reached a decent level.

Otherwise, Noah would definitely be exhausted by now!

Apparition was not a simple spell. This kind of magic was not something low-grade students could use.

And this magic also had some side effects—most notably, severe dizziness! Of course, that was the mildest consequence. The worst-case scenario? A part of your body might get Splinched and left behind.

"Damn it! What the hell are you doing?" When Noah and the others appeared again, Angela rubbed her head and complained.

"It seems that you're all fine—at least no limbs are missing. I just brought you to the crime scene quickly. John, do you feel it?"

Noah was in no mood to talk nonsense with this woman, even if she was pretty.

"Yes, very evil, just like—"

"Like the evil spirits from Hell, right? Well, it's almost the same."

Noah nodded silently. Of course, he knew what was going on.

Balthazar, a half-breed demon with a higher title—Mammon's subordinate—had killed many of Constantine's friends with his own hands.

Of course, that guy wouldn't dare to come here in person.

If he did, then his death would be imminent.

In fact, Noah was wondering about the relationship between these demons and Dormammu, but after thinking about it, they were probably from different dimensions but coexisting within the same world.

Speaking of which, Dormammu was originally a magician from Earth, but he accidentally discovered the Dark Dimension and entered it.

No one knows how many years he spent there, but he eventually became the ruler of the Dark Dimension.

In order to obtain even greater dark power, Dormammu abandoned his physical body, replacing it with pure mystical flames. From then on, he started conquering other dimensions.

Even the Ancient One derived part of their power from him.

However, Dormammu was both distant and terrifying. Noah had no intention of provoking such a being—at least not now. Even if it was just a power clone or projection, it was beyond him.

But guys like Balthazar and Mammon? They weren't necessarily at their peak.

Moreover, they resided in another dimension and could only exert power in this world through faith and rituals, meaning Noah wasn't particularly afraid of them.

He walked straight into the convenience store, and Constantine quickly followed.

Ms. Haifin and Angela, still confused about what Noah and Constantine were doing, trailed behind. But as soon as they stepped inside, they immediately understood.

"Damn it! Hennessy!"

Constantine instantly spotted his friend. He ran over and grabbed the overweight priest, who was guzzling down bottle after bottle of liquor.

Unfortunately, Hennessy didn't seem to recognize Constantine at all—he just kept drinking!

Noah frowned as he scanned the surroundings. Right now, it wasn't convenient for him to act.

But of course, there was a way. He immediately turned to Angela. As a police officer, she could be useful.

"Get all irrelevant people out of here. If you don't want him to die."

"Okay, I'll do it right away!"

Angela wanted to ask why, but then she remembered who this guy was.

A magician—one who had just transported them five kilometers in an instant.

This was near the morgue. Angela knew this area well—her sister's body was still stored there.

Without hesitation, she flashed her police badge and cleared out all the onlookers, including the store owner.

Finally, after securing the area, she locked the metal gate and the store's front door. The last thing she wanted was for this situation to escalate because of some small mistake.

By the time she turned back, Noah had already drawn his wand.

"Stupefy."

With a casual flick of his wand, Hennessy, who was still drinking madly, collapsed to the ground.

His condition was bad, so Noah had to stabilize him first.

"Episkey."

Hennessy had consumed so much alcohol that he was on the verge of alcohol poisoning.

Necessary treatment was needed—especially because Noah had already noticed something lurking in the shadows.

After finishing his spellwork, Noah stood up.

He neither put away his wand nor spoke to anyone. Instead, he cast another silent spell.

This priest had clearly been cursed with Compulsion Magic—a classic trick demons and devils loved to use.

"Should I blast you out, or will you come out by yourself, bastard?"

A deep chuckle echoed through the dimly lit store.

"Little one, you have quite the temper. It seems you've forgotten the advice I once gave you."

Balthazar stepped out from the darkness, his ever-present smirk plastered across his face.

As he emerged, Constantine slowly let go of Father Hennessy. He could never forget the demon who had murdered so many of his friends.

"You think you can give me advice?" Noah scoffed. "I wonder what the Ministry of Magic would say if they found out about your little schemes."

Balthazar's smirk twitched.

Yes, he feared the Ministry of Magic. He also feared far worse beings.

But that didn't mean he feared Noah.

Balthazar's expression darkened. He was a half-breed demon—one of Hell's elite. No one dared talk to him like this.

But on Earth, his true form couldn't manifest.

And unfortunately for him, the young magician standing before him knew that.

Which meant this brat was mocking him on purpose.

Balthazar clenched his fists, his knuckles cracking as he took a slow step forward.

"Kid," he sneered, "you're playing a dangerous game."

Noah didn't move.

Neither did Constantine.

Balthazar grinned. "I'll deal with you first."

In the blink of an eye, the half-breed demon lunged forward, his supernatural speed turning him into a blur.

But just before his fist could connect—

His expression twisted in horror.

"What the f—? WARDING MAGIC? How is that possible?"
