Chapter 57: Are All Magicians So Scary?

Noah knew how to deal with these demons—whether they were power clones or physical entities, he understood their nature.

The only difference was whether his strength was enough to handle them. Balthazar had descended as a power clone, relying on trickery, but his abilities were still formidable.

However, compared to Noah now, Balthazar's strength wasn't nearly enough.

If Noah were just a fourth or fifth-year magic apprentice, he might not stand a chance.

But Noah was a fully-fledged wizard, recognized as such by the system. Balthazar's fate was already sealed!

"Confringo!"

Without wasting words, Noah flicked his wand, and suddenly, the entire convenience store was engulfed in roaring flames!

Ordinary fire couldn't harm demons, but magical flames were a completely different story.

In essence, they were a demon's worst nightmare.

Under Noah's control, the blazing inferno surged towards Balthazar like a dragon. Fortunately, the demon was quick to react—otherwise, he would have been incinerated on the spot!

"Who the hell are you?!"

Balthazar looked utterly disheveled after narrowly dodging the attack.

His once-pristine face was now charred, his clothes burned to rags. Panic flickered in his eyes—Noah's power was far beyond what he had expected!

"I'm from Ravenclaw. Who do you think I am?" Noah sneered.

"Ravenclaw? Bloody hell! You're a Hogwarts student? The British Ministry of Magic is involved?! No, that's impossible! They wouldn't send a mere student!"

Balthazar's mood plummeted. He had underestimated his opponent, never expecting him to be from a British wizarding school.

Now, he deeply regretted his reckless provocation.

Killing this boy wouldn't be simple, and worse, if Noah was truly affiliated with the British Ministry, they might launch an investigation.

If that happened, Balthazar might find himself abandoned by Mammon.

Drawing too much attention was the last thing they needed at this stage.

"Listen, kid, I don't want to kill you. Don't make this harder on yourself!"

"You're quite confident. But do you actually think you can kill me?" Noah scoffed. "Sorry, I don't see that happening. And by the way, I've accepted a commission worth £10,000. Do you really think you can just walk away?"

"Arrogant whelp! I have to admit, your flames are impressive—strong magical energy, too. But didn't Constantine tell you? I rise from the ashes!"

"Oh really? Then let's see how many times you can burn!"

Noah didn't hesitate. This demon was just a minor inconvenience.

The real threats had yet to appear. Noah knew that Mammon's followers were close to achieving their goal, and Angela's spiritual awakening was the last missing piece.

But stopping them?

Not his problem.

This was America. The chaos here had nothing to do with him.

Besides, he was well aware that Aurors had been shadowing him the whole time.

They hadn't interfered yet, but Noah knew they were watching everything.

"Since someone else is going to clean up the mess, why should I bother?"

As magical energy surged around him, Noah unleashed another spell at Balthazar without hesitation.

Since fire wasn't enough, he'd simply use something else.

Even basic spells were enough to make the demon suffer!

Balthazar quickly realized he was in serious trouble.

Close combat? Impossible.

Noah had clearly set up protective wards.

Even if Balthazar managed to get near him, the boy could just Disapparate in an instant!

Target the others?

He could probably take down Constantine, but that would take time.

And in the process, Noah would simply teleport everyone away—then return later to finish the job.

For the first time, genuine panic crept into Balthazar's mind.

If this continued, he was doomed!

Meanwhile, Angela and the others were completely stunned.

It was the first time they had seen a wizard fight in earnest.

Compared to Angela, Ms. Haifin and Constantine were slightly more composed.

Haifin had already seen Noah in action before, and Constantine, being familiar with magic, wasn't as shocked.

"My God… Is this what magicians are capable of? Even one so young?" Angela whispered, her voice trembling.

"To be precise," Constantine exhaled a puff of smoke, "he's actually holding back."

Angela and Haifin blinked. "Holding back? What do you mean?"

"Ladies, it seems you don't fully understand magicians. Or perhaps you simply don't understand magician."

Constantine smirked, taking another drag of his cigarette.

"That kid is restraining himself. If he weren't, this entire store would already be a crater."

He turned to Ms. Haifin. "Your brother—what year is he in now?"

"Second year. But he's top of his class! His professors say he could skip straight to fifth year!" she said proudly, fanning away the cigarette smoke with mild irritation.

"Top of his year? Ready for fifth year? Bloody hell." Constantine chuckled. "No wonder. You see, even a third-year Hogwarts student has insane destructive potential. But this kid? He's on a completely different level."

Angela still couldn't fully grasp the situation. "Are all magicians this terrifying?"

"Terrifying?" Constantine laughed dryly. "Magicians aren't just scary—they can raise the dead and command spirits. Not that it's legal, of course. But as far as dealing with demons goes? Noah is more than capable. In fact… it looks like he's already won."

Angela and Ms. Haifin turned their attention back to the battle.

Indeed, it was over.

Noah wasn't an exorcist, but brute-force spellcasting was just as effective.

Balthazar had been durable, but only just.

Under the relentless assault of Noah's magic, he was now barely clinging to existence.

And that was with Noah still holding back.

If he had unleashed his full power, Balthazar wouldn't have lasted a second longer.

Newt Scamander, Noah's predecessor, could level entire landscapes with a single spell.

Noah wasn't quite there yet, but he was getting close.

"Alright, time to wrap this up. Say hello to your boss for me."

"Wait! Stop! We can negotiate—"

Noah didn't care.

As his magic surged once more, his wand radiated a brilliant light.

With a flick of his wrist, he uttered the final spell.

"Sectumsempra!"
