Outside the supermarket, a crowd had gathered—those who had been forced to evacuate.
They watched as the building burned, its walls collapsing intermittently. Fear and curiosity warred within them.
The scene before them was both bizarre and terrifying, but the more unsettling it became, the more their curiosity grew—even though they knew it was dangerous!
Fortunately, in this era, portable devices weren't very advanced. Most lacked even the most basic recording functions.
Otherwise, footage of this moment would have already flooded major communication platforms, and Noah would have been in serious trouble.
"Man, what the hell happened in there?"
"I don't know. God, I was just shopping, and then this fat guy barged in, grabbed a bottle of liquor, and started chugging it like it was water. Next thing I know, some female cop threw me out!"
"Same here! Damn it… you think something crazy's going on in there?"
"Who knows? But you might be right!"
The onlookers whispered among themselves, their eyes locked on the supermarket, which looked like it was moments away from total collapse. The more wrecked it became, the more excited they grew.
Once the supermarket completely caved in, they would finally learn what had happened inside!
But just then, an indescribable feeling washed over them.
It was as if something unseen was urging them to leave immediately.
At first, they ignored it, but soon, the entire crowd began to back away—slowly, unconsciously, without even realizing why they were doing it.
And then, it started to drizzle.
The raindrops fell lightly on their skin, and a strange haze settled over their minds. Their thoughts grew sluggish, their curiosity faded, and before they knew it, they were leaving—one by one, their steps unsteady, their expressions vacant.
Even as the supermarket groaned and shifted ominously behind them, even if it were to collapse entirely, not a single person turned back.
As if they had all forgotten why they had been there in the first place.
Meanwhile, something eerie was happening within the ruined supermarket.
The destruction seemed to reverse itself.
Shattered bricks, broken glass, and chunks of concrete slowly began to float into the air—then, piece by piece, they returned to their original positions!
The entire supermarket was reconstructing itself as if time itself had been rewound.
But none of the bystanders noticed.
Even passersby on the street seemed strangely oblivious, their eyes sliding right past the supernatural spectacle.
Noah stood in the middle of the devastation, wand in hand, observing the changes around him with calm understanding.
Looking down at Balthazar—who had been completely shattered by Noah's attack yet was still clinging to life—Noah sighed.
"Demons really are tough bastards… and this is just a power clone."
"Noah, what's happening?!"
Ms. Haifin let out a breath she didn't realize she had been holding. She had been relieved when Noah finally took down the demon, but her relief didn't last long.
Because the corpse was still moving.
And that wasn't even the most terrifying part.
The supermarket—reduced to rubble just moments ago—had stopped collapsing midair, then started putting itself back together as if nothing had happened!
Her mind struggled to process what she was witnessing.
Angela, on the other hand, was outright dumbfounded.
She had never seen anything like this.
Not even Hollywood could dream up something this insane.
Constantine had already shattered her perception of reality. But now, this wizard—who was even more terrifying than an exorcist—had completely blown her mind.
"This… this…"
Noah was about to say something when he suddenly paused.
At the same time, Constantine's expression darkened.
Their reactions put Ms. Haifin and Angela on edge. Before they could ask what was wrong, they saw it for themselves.
Two faint halos shimmered in the air.
And then—two figures appeared within the supermarket!
One was old, the other young.
Both wore brown trench coats and jeans, giving off a rugged, cowboy-like aura.
But their faces were grim, and their eyes carried a sharpness that put everyone on edge.
"Boy, do you have any idea how much trouble you just caused?!"
The older man's expression was thunderous as he stormed toward Noah.
"Do you know how many Muggles were around?! More than a hundred! Is this what Hogwarts is teaching students these days?!"
"Hogwarts taught me not to use magic in front of Muggles," Noah said with an indifferent shrug. "But I thought that only applied to the UK."
"Don't play dumb, kid! Do you have any idea how hard I worked to modify all those Muggles' memories?!"
"Well, you two have been tailing me since I got off the plane, and you never told me how to report to the Ministry of Magic. So, I figured you were letting me do my own thing."
"Letting you move freely doesn't mean you should go around making a damn spectacle! Wait… have you known we were watching you this whole time?!"
"Obviously. Neither of you even tried to suppress your magical signatures—especially the younger one. He's about as subtle as a Bludger to the face. How could I not notice?"
Noah spread his hands in mock innocence.
Ms. Haifin and Angela finally pieced together who these two were.
They were from the American Ministry of Magic.
As for what "Aurors" were, they had no clue.
The older Auror snorted. "You would be a Ravenclaw… A top student, too. Even though you've only finished your first year, word is you're already at a fifth-year level."
"More or less," Noah admitted. "Anyway, mind explaining what's going on?"
Something wasn't adding up.
The Ministry of Magic had clearly been aware of him from the start, yet they hadn't approached him.
Even after he obliterated the supermarket, they had only stepped in to repair the damage and scold him a little.
Why were they being so… lenient?
Especially toward a foreign wizard.
Even if he was considered a prodigy at Hogwarts, his influence shouldn't be this big.
The two Aurors exchanged a glance.
Then, the older one sighed. "Don't overthink it, kid. We have our reasons. I'll be dealing with this idiot beside me later. But you? Keep a low profile."
"Oh? So you're not gonna tell me the truth, huh?"
"Nope. Classified information." The Auror smirked. "But if you do keep it low-key, I can promise this—
"We'll protect you."
"From what?"
"From demons."
With that, the Auror turned his attention to Balthazar, who was still struggling weakly on the ground.
Ignoring the demon's desperate pleas, the old Auror raised his wand.
With a flick, a bolt of magic shot out—reducing Balthazar to ashes in an instant.
"Hogwarts really lets students use Dark Arts these days, huh?" the Auror muttered, eyeing Noah's wand. "That spell of yours wasn't light magic, kid."
Noah shrugged. "Professor Snape's magic. You can take it up with him."
"Snape?" The Auror grimaced. "Ugh. No thanks. That greasy bastard isn't my problem."
Noah chuckled.
As the Aurors left, Noah turned to Ms. Haifin and the others, ready to leave as well.
But then—
Ding!
A sound echoed in his mind.
The system—silent for years—had just issued him a mission.
