To be honest, it was a bit touching, but both Noah and Snape rolled their eyes unconsciously.

Sure, he was all emotional now about burning the contract—but where was this sense of responsibility when his two sons were running around acting like idiots?

Noah also felt something was off. Normally, the Ministry of Magic would intervene in disputes between vampires and werewolves. So why hadn't they stepped in during all this chaos?

Could it be the Ministry did know about this group, but treated them like a private army?

That didn't make sense. When this guy first saw him and Professor Snape, he clearly identified them as wizards. That meant he'd encountered magic users before—but the magical world rarely allowed outsiders to retain any knowledge of it, right?

"Have you seen wizards before?" Noah asked directly, voicing his doubt.

"I have," Alexander Corvinus replied with a bitter smile. "Your kind cast the Obliviate spell on us many times. But unfortunately for you, I've lived far too long. Its effects don't last on me—I start remembering everything within a few days."

"Oh?" Snape narrowed his eyes. The Obliviate spell had no effect?

That was... not good news.

"Don't worry. I haven't said anything I shouldn't. Though I've watched this world change for over a thousand years, I'm just an observer now."

"Alright, Mr. Corvinus. Still, you could've just informed your werewolves. Then you wouldn't have had to burn the contract—but it's your choice."

"If you're trying to compliment me, then thank you," Alexander said with a dry chuckle. "Honestly, I'm just tired. Even if you hadn't shown up, I was planning to burn it. I want to see other worlds... before the end."

Snape and Noah were silent. It was obvious this man had no will to live anymore.

And Noah remembered—Corvinus had given his blood to Selene, then later took his own life.

"Well, I've said what needed to be said," Corvinus continued, watching the last ashes of the contract disappear into the wind. "It was... interesting meeting you, wizards."

About ten minutes later, Selene returned with the squad that had gone in to clear the scene. Their faces were pale.

Selene walked up beside Noah while the soldiers approached Corvinus and quietly reported the situation.

Corvinus didn't seem surprised—he just sighed.

He whispered something to the soldier, who hesitated but eventually nodded. Moments later, all the soldiers placed their weapons down, lined up before Noah and Snape, closed their eyes… and waited.

Snape and Noah were stunned.

"What are you doing? You expect us to kill you? We're not vampires or werewolves. We don't harm ordinary people without reason," Noah said uncertainly.

"Eh? Aren't you going to erase their memories?" Corvinus asked, confused. "You know—so they forget about you wizards?"

...

Okay, so this guy was conscious of how things worked. But what was with the "ready to die" expressions?

Noah and Snape exchanged a glance. Neither of them had even considered erasing these people's memories.

That was the Ministry of Magic's job—not theirs. And while they could do it, it was just way too tedious to cast memory charms one by one.

"Let's leave that to the Ministry. We're foreign wizards," Noah said, shrugging.

"Alright, wizards. Anything else you want to know?"

Corvinus didn't press the issue. Though both he and his men were clearly curious about the magical world, he understood the danger of knowing too much.

And while he may have lived through countless eras, even grown tired of existence—Alexander Corvinus still hadn't lost his humanity.

"Since you're the progenitor of vampires and werewolves... your blood must be special. So..."

"You want my blood?"

"Yes—for research, or other reasons. But I'll keep it secret. I imagine you don't want someone digging up your body later..."

"Correct. I'd rather rest in peace. Though, honestly, I'm not sure I can die."

Corvinus was surprisingly agreeable. But then, he glanced behind Noah and noticed the woman.

He frowned slightly, a memory surfacing.

"She was once human," Noah explained. "A vampire named Viktor killed her family. She later became his adopted daughter and turned into a vampire."

"I see. I'm sorry, child," Corvinus said softly. After a moment, he asked, "Are you still vulnerable to sunlight?"

"Yes. Most vampires are." Selene's voice remained cold, but she nodded.

"Then take my blood. At least... you won't have to fear the sun anymore."

"Your blood?"

"Yes. But I ask you both—keep it a secret."

Selene didn't respond, but Corvinus didn't seem to mind.

Out of nowhere, he produced two syringes and filled them with his blood, handing one to Noah and the other to Selene. He looked slightly weaker afterward.

Selene remained composed. Living in the sun had always been her dream—but after learning so many terrifying truths, it was hard to feel happy.

Noah, meanwhile, stared at the syringe in a daze.

Because at the moment he took it, his long-silent system suddenly came to life.

"Detected special item: Undead Blood."

"Undead Blood possesses an extraordinary fusion ability, granting the inheritor terrifying potential."

"Its purity and magical essence are immense. With it, you could even become... Spider-Man."

Spider-Man?

What the hell?

So… chug the blood and let a spider bite him?

Noah's thoughts spiraled. But no, that was ridiculous. He was a wizard, not someone who wanted to shoot webbing out of his mouth.

...Also, spiders don't spit silk—they kind of poop it.

Honestly, he regretted listening to so many bizarre lectures from Professor Seho. That man's low, philosophical voice still haunted Noah's brain.

"Wait—are you saying I can gain animal abilities from this?" he asked silently.

"Yes, though not exactly."

"Explain. And if this involves drinking the blood and finding an animal to bite me, I'm out."

"First, you can't simply drink it. You're not a vampire. You can't absorb its power that way. The correct method is fusion—extracting its unique traits and integrating them into your own bloodline."

"Second, why rely on random animals? You could extract blood from higher beings and integrate their powers instead."

"...Huh?"

That response left Noah speechless. The system usually wasn't so talkative—but this was insane.

"Wait—you're saying I could get, say, Asgardian blood… and become like them?"

"Yes. Human physiology limits how far a magician can evolve. That's why high-tier sorcerers often abandon their bodies. But Asgardians have a base physicality ten thousand times stronger than yours."

Noah's brain spun.

Give up his body like the Ancient One? Or… evolve beyond his limits with something like Asgardian DNA?

"So if I get Asgardian blood, I won't need to give up my body to ascend?"

"Correct. Earth magicians shed their forms to reach higher planes. But superior species—like the Asgardians—can keep theirs."

Now Noah was very interested.

"But where am I going to find an Asgardian?"

Then his eyes suddenly lit up.

"Wait... if I remember correctly, someone very powerful is coming to Earth next year..."
