Chapter: 30

Zeke's POV:
The room was quiet after Roman left, but it wasn't peaceful.
Liam let out a dramatic sigh, stretching his arms over his head, his smirk as lazy as ever. "Well, that was fun. Should we take bets on whether he's coming back or not?"
I ignored him. Instead, I leaned back against the pillows, fingers brushing the spot where Roman had been. The warmth was already fading, leaving behind nothing but a cold void.
Liam tilted his head, watching me with that sharp, knowing look of his. "Nothing to say? Not even a brooding 'this was a mistake' speech?"
I turned my head slightly, meeting his gaze. "Why would I regret it?"
His smirk widened. "No reason. Just wondering how long before you get tired of waiting for him."
I didn't reply.
