Chapter 30: The Final Explosion

Rome – Villa Scarletti – Night

Everything in Villa Scarletti was moving at an unexpected speed. Terror, betrayal, and threats filled the place. Lights flashed rapidly, and the sound of gunshots rang out in the air. The team was facing enemies stronger than ever, and they couldn't retreat now.

Marco stood in front of Filippo Scarletti, his eyes shining with indomitable determination. "I've lost everything, Scarlett. Whether you win the game or not, we're here to end this."

But Filippo Scarletti wasn't going to stay calm. "You're just a storm in a calm sea, Marco. I thought you knew your place, but you don't understand anything. Everything here is mine!"

As Marco exchanged glances with Columbo and Salvo, he felt something strange in the air. Tension was rising, and hopes were gradually fading with each step. In the end, the hardest decision had to be made.

"Just listen to me, Scarlett!" Marco said, taking another step forward. "The game is over for you."

At that moment, the border was crossed. Everything exploded.

The Explosion

At that crucial moment, everyone heard a loud explosion shaking the villa. The explosion came from outside the villa, where their team had planted a small bomb earlier, aiming to destroy one of the main walls. The guards panicked, and everything was lost in a moment of chaos.

"Get up!" Colombo shouted, trying to lead everyone towards the back entrance. "Time is running out. If we don't leave now, we'll all be trapped!"

Marco, Salvo, and Franco didn't hesitate. They all quickly ran away as the villa collapsed around them. At that moment, each one of them felt as if time had become their enemy.

The Last Carnival

As they fled, they passed by another place where Luca Ferri was hiding, observing the situation. Luca stood confidently, watching them with a very calm expression despite all the chaos.

"Didn't I tell you that this game is bigger than you?" Ferri said with a nervous smile. "Even if you get out of here, you won't have a place to escape."

But Marco was quick to respond. "We'll make a place for ourselves!"

At that moment, the sound of a helicopter rang out in the sky, and all eyes turned towards it. It was a police helicopter, which had arrived too late at the crucial moment.

"You're too late!" Salvo shouted, smiling sarcastically, as everyone ran towards the exit.

The final decision

By the time they approached the back door of the villa, the police had surrounded the place. They had only one choice: either escape through the hidden tunnels that Luca Ferri had learned about, or surrender to their fate.

"Just give us a chance!" Marco said loudly, as he faced the police officers. But at that moment, everyone felt something strange. The wind was blowing around them, and the lights were swaying rapidly.

"No time for bargaining." Franco said, as he dragged Marco into the tunnels Luca remembered.

Sacrifice

As everyone fled, Columbo stayed behind. "I can't escape with you. The security system in the city is weak, and I won't be able to guarantee your safety."

Marco's heart was filled with anxiety, but he shouted, "Follow us now!"

But Columbo shook his head. "This is no time for talk, Marco. Find your way. I'll stay here and keep them busy."

In a moment of sacrifice, Columbo ran to face the enemies alone, while Marco and the team went deeper into the tunnels, preparing themselves for the next chapter of their lives.

The Journey Ahead

As they walked in the darkness, Marco kept looking back silently. "We will not forget Columbo." He said, turning to Franco and Salvo.

But their thoughts quickly drifted to the greater goal. The road was still long, and they knew they would face more obstacles and dangers.

"We will not stop until we reach the end." Marco whispered, as the tunnels took them into the unknown, as the game approached its final decisive moment.
