Shattered Alliances

Present Day – The Aftermath

The safe house was suffocating with tension. Blood stained Elijah's shirt—Luca's blood. They had barely escaped the ambush, and now everything was unraveling.

Dante paced near the window, gun in hand. "Nathan's a traitor. We should've put a bullet in him when we had the chance."

Elijah leaned against the wall, exhausted. "And yet, he didn't kill Luca."

Dante turned sharply. "You call that mercy? He put a goddamn bullet in him."

"He aimed for a non-lethal shot."

Dante scoffed. "Because he wants to kill him himself."

A heavy silence followed. They both knew it wasn't that simple.

Nathan's betrayal cut deeper than any gunshot.

And Luca—

Luca was gone.

Somewhere in the City – Luca's Escape

Luca's fingers trembled as he pressed against the wound on his side, stumbling into a dimly lit alley. Blood loss made his vision blur, but he kept moving. He had to.

Nathan had pulled the trigger.

Nathan had spared his life.

Luca chuckled bitterly, leaning against a brick wall. "Still playing both sides, huh?"

Footsteps echoed. He reached for his gun—only to find himself staring down the barrel of another.

Lorenzo Moretti.

His cousin's smirk was as cold as ever. "Bleeding all over my city, Luca? That's rude."

Luca gritted his teeth. "If you're gonna kill me, get it over with."

Lorenzo tsked. "Kill you? Oh no, cugino. You're far more useful alive."

Luca's stomach twisted.

Because with Lorenzo, "alive" was never a good thing.

Nathan's Dilemma

Nathan stood alone on the rooftop, staring at the skyline. The city had never felt so empty.

He had made his choice.

But why did it feel like he was still losing?

His phone buzzed.

Lorenzo.

Nathan exhaled before answering. "It's done."

A satisfied hum. "Good. Now bring me Sinclair."

Nathan's grip on the phone tightened.

Because this time, hesitation wasn't an option.
