So… Chiron, I just wanted to ask if maybe Thalia and I could go into the city, just for fun I mean, not a quest or anything", Thalia asked.
"And why would you need to leave the camp? Can't you have some fun in camp?" Chiron looked suspicious, "it is very dangerous for a big 3 kid to go around in the mortal world"
"We are plenty strong enough not to get killed", Thalia said, rolling her eyes.
"Well yes, but-"
"We want to go on a date", Alexander deadpanned, taking her hand. Thalia turned bright red, like tomato sauce. She punched him- again.
"You really need to stop punching me, it hurts"
"Then maybe you should stop saying and doing stupid shit", she huffed, though she never pulled away from his hand.
"Ah, young love", Chiron smiled, "though I still can't let you go outside, too dangerous… maybe you could have a picnic on camp grounds?"
"Fine", Thalia pulled him away.
Later that day, when they had a free slot in their schedule, Thalia and Alex walked to the beach and rolled up a blanket. Alexander had gone off to the kitchens, sneaking in to get some food for them, whilst Thalia had organised some Coke from the Hermes cabin. Outside food and drink were technically forbidden but if you paid the right Hermes cabin member, you could get practically anything.
Thalia and Alex sat down and began chatting about anything and everything. It was nice, they just talked and enjoyed their time. Alexander hand cooled the beverages and they enjoyed the sunlight. They completely forgot the time and only noticed when Chiron stood there, arms crossed, "Whilst I fully support your feelings and am glad you are enjoying yourselves, that is no reason to miss your activities, now, let's get you back to your scheduled activities. You have archery right now. If you hurry, you can still have some meaningful practice"
"Yes Chiron", they chorused, both unhappy with their date having been interrupted. They got up and gathered up their things, storing them in their cabin before heading to the Archery range. There, they practiced a few shots before the dinner time came and they sat in the dining pavilion. They were getting strange looks from the other campers.
"I think some of the nymphs couldn't keep their mouths shut", Thalia grumbled.
"Let them look, it's not like we kissed or anything", Alexander picked at his food.
"Yeah…", Thalia looked uncomfortable, clearly still not used to all the attention. One would think being a big three kid, she would be used to it by now. After dinner, Annabeth was very upset with him, she looked murderous, with a mad glint in her eyes, "how dare you?!"
"How dare I what?"
"You know exactly what I mean", she pulled her knife. Resting it against his throat.
"I don't, actually", he glanced around nervously.
"What has gotten into you, Annabeth?", Thalia asked.
"You don't have to hide it, the whole camp has heard by now, how he assaulted you", she pressed the knife further into his neck, loosing him a hit point.
"Assault? He? Me?", Thalia looked just as confused as he felt, "Alexander and I just had a nice picnic together and lost sight of the time, besides, he is nowhere near strong enough to actually assault me"
"Is that true?" She asked him. He simply nodded, looking at her pleadingly.
"Those damned nymphs", she muttered, "sorry for this"
"Guess I know why they were staring at us", Alexander chuckled, "who knew the nymphs would be so malicious"
"I assume they were doing it because you refused their advances one too many times"
"I'm thirteen! What were they expecting? Me to lunge at them?"
"That kind of thing happens more often than you would assume", Annabeth explained, "though most of the time, the rumours aren't as drastic as this. Charlie Beckendorf was labeled a bed wetter when he refused to sleep with one of the dryads"
