The Doctor exchanged pleasantries with Johnson and all who were present in the room before issuing the test results.
"Mr Johnson your condition seems to be stable but if you aren't careful you could end up here once again "
Johnson just scoffed and avoided the Doctor's eyes knowing he was guilty.
The Doctor then took a look at Elizabeth and told her to really take care of him and always see to it that he takes his medication.
When he was done, the Doctor greeted them once more and left the ward.
Elizabeth turned to Deborah, pointing fingers at her saying
" This is all your fault, only if you had covered for me, we won't be here "
Barbara immediately chipped in saying "Mum it's okay, we can scold her properly when we get home "
Deborah who was already tired of explaining, just mopped at mother and daughter without saying a word
Johnson stood up to leave and then instructed Deborah to call the house driver Joe.
She immediately dialed his line, and on hearing her voice he answered
"Good day Madam Deborah, how is the old master doing?
Deborah responded, " He's doing fine, he wants you to come and pick us up from the hospital."
As soon as she said this, he released a sigh of relief since they had all been wishing that Johnson would recover.
"Say no more Miss, I'm on my way " With this, the call ended.
Barbara kissed Johnson on his forehead and decided to leave for school as she was already running late.
Elizabeth gave her a pinch and whispered to her "Don't you know that you are supposed to wait, at least till when the driver gets here "
Barbara hissed silently and continued heading towards the door and out of the hospital.
As soon as Joe arrived, he had no problem getting to Johnson's ward
KNOCK KNOCK
He gently opened the door and let himself in
With a face wide with smiles, he hugged Johnson saying
"We've all missed you, sir ".
Johnson laughed out loud telling him that he had also missed them.
Joe hugged Deborah too but on trying to hug Elizabeth, she gave him a stern look that made him swallow his saliva and hug himself.
He then thought to himself "Thank God the old master is still alive, this woman won't hesitate to fire us if he's no more"
They all left the hospital and got into their ride
As they journeyed home, Joe was in high spirits and couldn't close his mouth out of excitement for Johnson's improved health
He kept on making jokes which got Deborah and Johnson rolling with laughter
The same couldn't be said for Elizabeth
She just gave off a cold aura with an icy look, as she couldn't bear the pain of seeing Deborah happy with her grandfather.
In her head, she thought" That should be Barbara but that girl is too senseless for my liking"
Not far off, they sighted their mansion. The gates were designed with ivory stones and a few paintings which made it look lavish.
The mansion itself was one of a kind as Mr Johnson made all house designs match.
It was a buoyant building with elegant designs and no other house in the vicinity could match up
As soon as they drove in, the whole compound was silent as a graveyard.
Johnson asked," Did they all quit or what?"
Immediately the doors of the mansion were opened
The servants shouted in unison " Surprise!"
Johnson, Deborah and Elizabeth were shocked, Elizabeth quickly turned to Joe and said
"Were you aware of this?"
Joe smiling sheepishly just nodded his head saying
"I don't want to be the spoiler of a surprise "
Deborah was so happy that Johnson was loved by all, a tear quickly dropped down her face but she wiped it off immediately.
The Chief Servant Edward walked up to Johnson and hugged him
" We've all missed you, sir "
Johnson laughed saying "I'm not going anywhere yet, I still have to spend time with my granddaughter"
On saying this, they all turned their heads towards Deborah's direction.
She then turned her face downwards as if she was looking for something on the ground.
Deborah could be occasionally shy and she wasn't one for attention unlike her step-sister Barbara.
Elizabeth was so envious of the attention Deborah was getting that she quickly said
"And his other granddaughter too" As soon as the words came out of her mouth, she regretted it.
The servants began to whisper 'Where is she? Is she referring to that spoilt brat, 'I heard she couldn't even wait to see her grandad discharged', what a girl.
Johnson then instructed Edwards that they should prepare for a celebration.
He then gave him access to the family account instructing him to spare no expense.
Johnson also told Edwards to invite all senior citizens to be in attendance.
He wanted to celebrate a second chance at life
On hearing this, the other servants began jubilating because a feast in the mansion was no small feat.
They all assembled to meet Edwards who was going to delegate duties and assign tasks to each of them.
Mr Johnson then called out to Deborah
"Granddaughter would you be so kind as to escort me to my room, I think I need to rest"
'Of course, Grandpa' Deborah then followed Johnson to his Master bedroom.
She kissed him on his forehead and then decided to take her leave.
Deborah told him" Grandpa I will have to head back to school at this moment but I will be back on time for the celebration"
Johnson smiled, waved his hand and told her to not get carried away with her schoolwork.
Johnson's bedroom could be described as a mini art gallery.
He was a fan of old paintings and ancient artworks, all of which he considered his treasure and not money.
As he was checking out his artifact, he then paused as he saw a chest that was left open.
Johnson became alarmed, his room had been invaded and his diamond ring was missing.
