C7 Sneaky

The party didn't start until it was almost dark and the guests arrived one by one.

Elegance and flamboyance were the order of the day as each guest was in a covert competition to outdo each other with their outfit and gifts.

"Wow the mansion looks bigger and better from when we last saw it, I'm sure those online reporters didn't do justice to its magnificence. We should take some nice pictures just in case"

The distinguished guests made these remarks which pleased even the staff and gave them a sense of pride.

Edward was so busy with making sure everything went according to plan as he was a perfectionist.

The Chief Celebrant Johnson just sat back in his room feeling so sad since he couldn't find his diamond ring.

He didn't want to involve the police in the matter as the matter would take another dimension.

If a family member was even seen as a suspect, it would bring shame and disgrace upon him and he didn't want that.

The Media won't hesitate to drag them

" Billionaire Johnson's household is a sham and they can't wait to share his inheritance "

This headline and many more just kept ringing in his head.

He will be damned that some media outlet would drag his family into the mud, that was why he wanted to handle the matter quietly.

With Edward his loyal servant, he was sure that the ring might be found and the culprit punished.

No strange face has arrived in the mansion since he left and the staff haven't left either, because of the celebration.

Even before leaving the gate, a search is carried out, which assured Johnson that the ring is within the mansion.

He just didn't know where.

Johnson's thoughts were disrupted by a ring of his doorbell

RING RING

He then went to know who was at his door and then he saw his granddaughter.

Deborah could tell something was bothering her grandpa.

"What's the matter, grandad? I can sense that you aren't happy and I know it has nothing to do with the celebration ongoing."

Johnson sighed and then narrated to Deborah

"My chest was open when I came to my room and my diamond ring was no longer there, Yes I know what you are thinking, it was stolen "

Deborah was shocked and asked

"But Grandpa you are the only person that has the password to your room lock. So what could have happened?"

Johnson just dropped his face and patted her on the shoulder telling her not to worry that it would soon be resolved.

Deborah then hugged Johnson and helped him put on his tie, and wristwatch and went to continue with her preparations as she wasn't finished.

In Elizabeth's room, Barbara stood at one corner helping her mum adjust her address and then Elizabeth asked her daughter.

"How come you haven't prepared? Are you sure you are a part of this occasion child?" She asked

Barbara replied to her stating "Yes Mum, I just want to help you out with your preparation and then I will get ready as fast as I can "

Elizabeth just rolled her eyes at her and continued preparing.

She then asked Barbara if her step-sister was also prepared and ready for the event.

Barbara then told her "Mum Deborah isn't a little child, she knows what to do and when to do it."

Deborah admired herself and her emerald dress in the mirror.

She had a striking resemblance with her late mother who was also very beautiful.

She inherited her mum's brown eyes and perfect dentition.

A petite waist with a long neck like a model.

She was a bit busty, it was one of her attractive qualities aside from her cute face

And Dazing eyes.

As soon as she stepped out of her room and headed downstairs to extend courtesy to the guests

She was the center of attention as everyone turned in her direction.

Elizabeth also noticed as the attention shifted from her to Deborah.

Elizabeth clenched her teeth and muttered "This brat just came out of nowhere and decided to steal the spotlight, I will show her the stuff I'm made of "

As Deborah was greeting the guests, she saw Oscar who was all smiles.

He looked like a lost puppy and couldn't even look her in the eyes,

All he could say was"Deborah you look pretty" and then he ran off. He was too shy

Deborah was so amused at his gesture but didn't say anything.

" Lovely dress, not looking bad at all" A voice came from behind,

One that she was beginning to get used to and then she turned

It was Adrian and his father the Dean.

She replied with a neutral thank you, not wanting to betray any emotion.

She quickly hugged the Dean and smiled sheepishly

The Dean was also happy to see her and he asked

" Deborah I haven't seen your father since I arrived, I would like to congratulate him personally, where's he ?"

"He's greeting other guests sir but he will be with us shortly " She assured the Dean.

Adrian couldn't take his eyes off her unlike Oscar who wasn't bold about it.

Steady maintaining eye contact while also discussing with his father

Deborah could feel the sexual tensions build up as he stared at her.

She felt like she was about to choke as though everywhere seemed stiff.

Deborah then excused her to greet other guests and run away from the stares of Adrian

And there was Barbara who still hadn't come out of her room.

She had other plans.

She needed her grandpa to trust Deborah less and her plan was assured to do just that.

When she noticed that the grand hall was filled with people and it was all quiet in the passage and hallway.

Barbara then picked up the diamond ring and tiptoed not wanting to get caught in the process.

She started sweating profusely

If any of the staff were to see her, that could spell doom for her.

As soon as she got into Deborah's room,

She put the ring inside her drawer but on second thoughts, she felt the position was too obvious.

Looking around, she saw a portrait of Deborah's mum which had a diamond necklace beside it.

Barbara smiled and took the diamond ring and placed it alongside the necklace.
