C13 Three mean looking girls

On the training ground, students could be seen at every corner engaging in one activity or the other.

Equipment of all sorts could even be seen at different angles of the training ground.

Some students were busy practicing with some sports equipment such as javelin, shot-put, tennis and badminton.

Others played team sports such as volleyball, football, swimming, running, high jump and rugby.

Some students weren't in any of the activities because they were just poor in sports or generally lazy.

You could see them cheering for their friends from the stands or just socializing with each other.

It seemed like everyone was having fun regardless of whether they were engaged in the games or not.

Barbara and Helen had joined their teammates to start their volleyball training. Their teammates were already waiting for them and some even began to question them as they arrived.

One of the teammates asked " Barbara and Helen, where have you been? We've been waiting for you guys for a while now. Seems you are comfortable in the second position just behind your sister and taking a gold medal for the first runner up right? "

As soon as the words left her mouth, Barbara's first reaction was to run up close to her and give her a dirty slap.

But she took deep breaths and calmed herself down.

She forced a smile almost immediately and said " I and Helen were just getting things sorted out and making plans on how to be number one this time, don't worry guys we are going to bring the trophy home "

While Barbara spoke these words, the veins of her forehead were visible but she masked a smile on her face so her teammates couldn't tell if she was angry or not.

They just concluded that it was just her determination to beat her sister.

At the other end of the court, Deborah could be seen practicing with her teammates already. They all loved her and looked up to her as their captain.

She was exceptionally skilled at playing her position while also giving directions on the court. Due to her athletic build-up, she hardly sustained any injury and played the game effortlessly.

Deborah was the backbone and structure of her team and she knew it, they also knew it.

She knew all that had to change if she wanted her department to continue dominating the volleyball games.

Deborah then addressed her teammates as the leader and captain she was

" As you all know, this is my last volleyball game as a student and your captain, we need to make it count and I have decided to appoint a successor. Someone I will train and develop her skillset to be even better than me and lead you guys even after I'm gone "

Her teammates were so happy and each of them wanted to be picked but Deborah could only choose one person.

She continued " I have decided to pick Miranda, I'm sure none of you disagree "

They responded " Not at all Debby "

Deborah replied " She plays the game with a zeal and passion that many only aspire to have and she has shown commitment to the team. She's also good at following instructions on the field and I believe that a good leader must always be a good follower first "

Deborah instructed Miranda to come out and stand beside her and then told everyone

"Guys from today, Miranda is my assistant and second in command. Follow her instructions as you would follow mine and do whatever she asks of you ."

The teammates all agreed and with that, training resumed.

Oscar was also leading in the track event as he was a very fast runner.

He had taken like 6 lapses and was exhausted. So he decided to cool off by sitting at a corner and observing other contestants practice.

Barbara left her teammates in between training sessions to go and have a few words with Deborah.

On getting to the other end of the court, Deborah's teammates began teasing her saying

"Miss Second position arrives again, with all her struggles and effort, her sister will always outshine her"

Deborah caught wind of the comments and said " Enough! Get back to training you silly girls "

They all giggled and left.

Barbara was so furious but she couldn't defend herself because what they said was all true.

She then tried to play it off by saying

"Deborah, how has training been going? I just came over to check in on you seeing that you beat us at our best the last time. Just so you know my team is getting ready to become this year's champion and you can't stop it "

Deborah just smiled back and said " Is that all you came to say? Let the best man win"

Barbara left there more pissed than when came. She just walked back and met up with Helen

She whispered into her ear and Helen made a call

While all this was going on, Oscar was just observing and having fun watching the drama unfold without their notice.

Even when Barbara went back to consult with Helen, Oscar was just laughing, he found the whole thing entertaining.

But as soon as Helen made the call, three mean-looking girls appeared. They didn't look like students of the university but no one could tell.

It was a university, after all, you could look crazy and funny and nobody would care.

Everybody just went about their business which was school-related and very stressful.

Barbara and Helen talked with the three mean-looking girls who were also huge and seemed like they were on steroids.

The only way you could tell they were girls was because of their long hair and small busts on their chest otherwise you would also take them for men.

After they had communicated in whispers, Barbara handed them an envelope.

Your guess is as good as mine as to what was in the envelope.

It was a ward of cash.

After the exchange had taken place, they disappeared like they were never there.
