C12 Game week

The party ended and the guests left quietly, they all had fun and couldn't stop talking about it.

Deborah was still having a conversation with Adrian and Oscar.

One person felt like a third wheel in the conversation and it wasn't Adrian.

You guessed right, it was Oscar.

After a while, he felt like Deborah didn't have his time and he was trying to force himself into their conversations.

Oscar cleared his throat and spoke

"Hey Deborah I think I should be heading back to campus, it's been an eventful night but we have classes tomorrow "

Deborah responded" You are right Oscar, I think I would also retire early after I have seen the guests but let me walk you out. Thank you for showing up for me "

Oscar felt his heartbeat increase and his face suddenly turned red.

He couldn't help but let out a big wide grin

"It's nothing Deborah, you know I will always be here for you"

Oscar said it out loud to get the attention of Adrian who pretended not to be interested in their conversation.

Adrian thought to himself "That Jerk thinks he's smooth, I will beat him to his game "

Deborah then escorted Oscar out of the mansion

Jandel was trying to engage Barbara in a conversation but she seemed disinterested.

When he noticed he wasn't getting her attention.

He said " Hey Barbara I think it's getting late I have to head back home"

That was when Barbara came back to reality

She was lost in thoughts on how to deal with Deborah

Her hate for her step-sister kept getting deeper

Barbara then turned and spoke to Jandel "I'm sorry that I haven't paid you any attention since I came back from a brief family meeting. I will be better tomorrow, let's exchange contacts then "

Jandel felt satisfied and then promised to reach out to her

After all, Barbara was beautiful but just a little bit less than Deborah.

Ronald Rice the Dean finally had an opportunity to speak to Johnson Green

When they talked, there was mutual respect between them as both of them were elders

They also shared an affection for Deborah and heaped praises on her

All this was happening in her absence

Deborah came back from escorting Oscar and met up with Adrian

"Sorry for taking too long " she apologized to Adrian

"Apology not accepted woman," Adrian said with a smirk

Deborah then responded "What have I done this time Adrian? I don't have time for your games "

Adrian then calmed her down seeing she was becoming tense

"I haven't gotten a feedback from you regarding my invitation to my company's event. Remember that was the price for being rude to your Dean's son "

Deborah clenched her teeth and looked at him with a bit of fury

Adrian loved the fact that he was teasing her endlessly and she was falling for it

Deborah then thought to herself, "Once I honor his invitation, he will be out of my hair"

She then responded "Fine I will be there, send your chauffeur when it's time"

Adrian felt satisfied, but before he could say anything else, Ronald interrupted him saying

"Son I am exhausted, I think it's time we head back home. I have to be up early and get to school "

Adrian nodded in agreement with his father.

Ronald hugged Deborah and said

"I had fun Deborah, see you tomorrow "

Deborah replied " You too sir, safe journey back home"

Adrian then spoke up " No sweet goodbyes for me, I guess"

Deborah just rolled her eyes and said to him " You are not my favorite Dean"

Adrian laughed wholeheartedly and forced a hug on her

Johnson witnessed all that was going on and just smiled

He was about to retire to bed before Deborah walked past him

"I like him already and his Dad is a friend of mine, do you like him too?" Johnson stated

Deborah looked at Johnson with shock and said

"I know what you are thinking Grandpa but it won't happen "

Deborah kissed Johnson and retired to bed

The next day, Deborah and Barbara headed to school together

They both attended the same institution which was the University of Alber.

They were in the same faculty but in different departments.

Deborah was in Biotechnology while Barbara was in microbiology.

They were both very smart but not the classic nerd

They also participated actively in sports and were the stars of their team

Barbara has always seen Deborah as her competition, no matter how hard she tried, Deborah was always above her.

It was the games week.

Students loved a week like this, it was an opportunity to unwind from all the academic activities.

Classes are hardly held during such week as everyone will be preparing for the competition

Every department or team wanted to get at least one medal or trophy.

Deborah was happy, at least she got to represent her department one more time before graduation.

As this was going to be her last game.

She was the star player for the girls' volleyball team and has won countless trophies over the years for her department.

Barbara was also the volleyball star player of her team, she was every bit as athletic as her sister but always finished second.

This time, she wasn't about to play second place to her sister.

Barbara began to scheme on how to win the volleyball game and she wasn't planning to play fair or just.

She thought to herself " Should I just hire some students to break her legs long enough for her not to play? No that's too extreme "

Barbara thought of bribing the officials but she knew that could also backfire

As she was deep in thought, her friend Helen called her name

"Barbara we need to head to the volleyball court, what's going through your mind" she asked

Barbara then indulged her in the plans she had for her sister Deborah.

They both decided to put their heads together and come up with a plan after training.
