REALIZATION

CHAPTER 2

"Nothing Dad." She signed. "I just want to know."

Peter looked at her suspiciously for a few seconds before finally speaking.

"Your mom died years ago in a car accident when you were quite little, which made it a miracle you could still recognize her. Although it's all thanks to the few pictures of her that had been put up in your room for years now." They walked down the basement as he spoke. Finally getting to the front of a door, he stopped then proceeded to unlocking it.

"Where is here? I have never been to this part of the house before." Kiara asked on seeing the unfamiliar place.

"Because I never felt the need to bring up the topic since you didn't. In here, you would find all pictures and belongings of your mother right before she passed away." Finally with the last click, the door was opened.

Stepping in, it was all so dusty and filled with cobwebs as if it's been abandoned for years, precisely. Kiara coughed and tried waving off as she walked pass.

"It's a place where her valuable items has been kept so it's why I brought you here." Peter proceeded.

Looking around, Kiara found most of the items there quiet old. Even the pictures she found, its either the ones of her mother from her early youth. Kiara smiled as she saw a picture which involves her mom, Dad and little self. It's so cute. Right at that moment, her eyes caught sight of an old wooden martch box on the other edge of a table.

Peter who was still busy looking at some old pictures didn't acknowledge as Kiara made path way to the box which she strangely found interesting for some reason, as if a force was pulling her closer to it. Slowly, she made her approach taking slow steady steps, her eyes not leaving the box. Just when she was four feet away, the vibration of her phone disrupted. Flashing on the screen was pearl's name.

"I will be right back Dad." She excused herself to go pick up the call, leaving the basement.

****NEXT DAY AT SCHOOL****

Kiara and Pearl were both seated down for lunch as they always do. Just then, Khloe, Sam and Olivia appeared and was seated not quite far from them. They gisted and laughed as they always.

Pearl groaned.

"What's wrong?" Kiara asked as she took a spoon from her portage.

"Couldn't they find another seat, aside from here?"

"Precisely because that's the only space vacant. And you know how much the don't like seating with someone who isn't in their crew." Kiara replied making pearl hissed, annoyed. At the moment, Jace Prescott walked in with two other boys as they made their way to the others and got seated while her eyes on him all the way through.

"Hey, Kiara. You alright?" Pearl asked as her gaze finally drifted.

"You are still on him, aren't you?" Pearl pinned but Kiara ignored not giving a response.

"Listen, you know you don't want to mess with Khloe." Pearl whispered making her sign.

"I know, I know. You don't need to remind me. And perhaps, I am no match to them."

Pearl clicked her lips on hearing her response.

"It really saddens me to hear how low you downgrade yourself." Pearl signed.

***NIGHT FALLS***

Kiara found herself all alone in the dark night of the desert, wondering around with the look of fright.

"Kiara!"

"Kiara!!"

She heard her name been called like that of a whispers.

"Kiara!"

She gasped and turned behind only to see same old martch box form earlier in the basement, except now it was floating in the air while glowing lightly. it was more strange than normal and couldn't help but walk closer. Subconsciously, her feet drew her nearer and closer to the box. Slowly raising up her hand, it was about making contact with it when her eyes jerked open with a gasp.

It was all a dream.

Outside was raining heavily as lightning stroke. Slowly, she got off her bed in attempt to have a glass of water only to find the jug empty. Looking at the wall clock, it was past two already. Her Dad would surely be asleep by now. She signed.

She walked down the stairs, heading to the kitchen she caught sight to the basement again. It felt more stranger as she began to hear slow whispers as if someone or something was calling out to her and it was coming from the direction of the basement. Mastering her courage, she slowly approached just to find the door slightly opened which confused her. Didn't her father told her earlier that he had made sure the basement was locked?

Neitherless, she opened the door and walked in. Ones, her eyes caught sight of the box which she waisted no time in approaching. Slowly, she opened it.

Inside was some pictures of her mother with some other people whom she could barely seem to recognize. Then, another picture of her mom and dad. Last was a baby picture of hers. Looking closely, she saw a necklace which surprisingly seemed to be similar to the one which she was wearing in her baby picture she found in the box. Picking it up, she examined it closely.

'I have never seen this before'

Neither was she wearing it in the other baby or childhood pictures she found of herself.

Although, it looked quite beautiful and she really adored it.

It was a thin line golden necklace which had a sparkling Little red heart shaped diamond that was indeed beautiful. It looked unique and one of a kind. She raised it up in the air, examining it more aqurately. A smile flashed across her face.

'It must had belonged to mum' she guessed and held it tightly. The stroke of lightning made her jerk and ran out with the necklace in her hand.

The next morning. Kiara had already left for school when Peter walked by the basement and found the door unlocked.

"How is this possible. Didn't I made sure to lock the door properly yesterday." He hissed then yet again went to lock the door.

***AT SCHOOL***

"Would you please help hand this over to George? I really need to go to the rest room right now, am pressed." One of Kiara's class mate, Monica, requested as she handed a cup of melted chocolate to her while dancing her lap to subdue her urine from dropping. On seeing how really pressed she was, Kiara nodded with a flash smile.

"Sure."

"Yeah Thanks." The girl immediately hurried off to the rest room.

On turning, Kiara missed her steps and subconsciously spilled the cup of melted chocolate on Khloe who happens to be passing by with her friends at the moment. Her face dropped.

"I-I-I'm so sorry. It was just a mistake. Please forgive me." Kiara instantly formed a word of apology as she didn't know what else to do.

"What the heck!! Have you gone mad?" Khloe yelled furiously as she pushed Kiara.

"Did you really had to ask?" Sam scoffed as she glared at kiara.

"All that people like them do is been considered a mistake. So just slip it away and not to waist your time." Olivia added.

"No. I will make her pay dearly." Khloe grunt. "You will clean the stain off my shirt using yours and then lick my shoe clean with that perfetic tongue of yours." By now everyone had gathered to watch the show and kiara could feel nothing but embarrassment.

"Didn't you here me?" Khloe yelled on seeing her hesitate.

"Am-Am sorry but I can't." Kiara muttered with her eyes facing the ground. Khloe scoffed annoyed. With a burning fury, she spoke.

"How dare you regect my orders. Who the hell do you think you are-"

"Enough!" Jace's voice echoed, dragging everyones attention as he approached. "She already apologized. So what is the force all about?"

"No Jace, you wouldn't understand. This thi-" she paused and took a breathe. "This girl is so clumsy for my liking. And she dared to challenge me-"

"We all saw what happened Khloe. So it would be better you save yourself the stress and go get changed. Afterall, you hate ruining your steez don't you?" Jace raised a brow mockingly, leaving her defenseless.

She humped with a stumped feet and walked away with her crew behind.

By now, kiara was almost in tiers. Her eyes still not dareing to look up. Turning back to her, Before Jace could say a word, she ran off.

AFTER SCHOOL

Kiara and Pearl were walking home together when she suddenly began to feel to observant of her surroundings, something felt strange.

She could only hear closely, the sounds of blowing winds.

Vividly, she looked around feeling unsecure. Something was intended to happen.

She turned behind and saw Jace and his friends walking home, she guessed. Not knowing the urge or force which suddenly pushed her, she ran towards him as quick as her feet could carry. Jumping on him, making them stargered backwards and they both stumbled to the ground just when a huge rock landed almost close to their feet. Everyone present gasped in shock as they watched them both.

Jace was the most surprise of all as he staired at her face.

"Oh my goodness! Kiara are you alright?" Pearl rushed to her in panic as kiara slowly got off him, their eyes still not leaving each other. Chris and Paul who assumed to be Jace's friends, helped him get back on his feet.

"Are you alright?" Kiara asked Jace as he dust off his clothes. His eyes once again went to hers and a smile appeared on his face.

"I am, Thanks to you. You saved my life, Thanks." Jace thanked but she just gave a slight nod and walked away with pearl.

"How did you know that was going to happen." Pearl asked as they had gone far from the boys. Kiara shrubed.

"Just had the feeling."
