Chapter 67

The beast was baffled.

He wanted to pluck those eyes out but the way they would widen and blinked at him had him intriguing. Those red and full lips that were blabbering nonsense for a while now, he wanted to shut them but the noise coming from them was quite soothing to him.

What is this? Why is the strange human not dead? Why is the strange human still here? He needs to kill him. Yes, kill him!

But why does he also want to keep him? It doesn't feel good when the strange human leaves because then he takes a very long time to come back.

The beast was confused again, and that confusion irritated him. Does he want this strange human here or not?

Kill him...

Keep him...

The voices inside his head kept on talking and their noises were slowly killing his head. He felt dizzy, but he didn't show it to his prey who continued talking and making all those strange faces.

He could understand some of the expressions on Lia's face and some he couldn't. Like when the strange human twists his face in irritation or anger because the guards show him the exact reaction.

But he couldn't understand when the strange human parted his lips and showed his teeth. What is it? And why does he do that? And why his eyes match with his expression and shine along it.

The strange human waved a hand before his face startling him. "Or maybe you are deaf and can't hear me."

Alpha's eyes fluttered again in irritation, and he growled because Lia disturbed his discovery of human's weird faces.

The strange human sucked enough air in his mouth to form an 'O' with his cheeks. "Oh, so you can hear me but just chose to ignore me. That's bold of you Mr. Psycho."

Kill him...No! No, killing him. He snarled at the voices.

"Ooooh. So you are talking to yourself now?" The strange human said with an amused look, his eyes getting big and the stupid human showed his teeth again.

"Well, would you tell me your name and why you are imprisoned here? I mean I already know your name but I wanted to hear it from you," Lia asked with a sigh, crossing his arms under his chest, and leaned back on the wall.

It's the third day in a row he has visited Alpha, and it's the third day the beast has not spoken or shown a bit of interest in him or his stupid questions. But at least he listened to Lia without attacking him now. He must have grown some patience with Lia, that's a good start, right?

But Lia was happy anyway. He gets to see Alpha every day and that he's doing fine. He's alive, breathing, his heart is beating, and his blood is pumping in his body. It's enough for Lia now.

However, there's also this fear Lia feels that one day he would come here and wouldn't find him.

Alpha was sitting far away from him. He was in an attacking position like always but he never attacked Lia now. Or that's what Lia was convincing his dumbass because the wounds from this beast on his face tell a different story. He has a lot of cuts on his arms from bites, and bruises on his face, and the most notable was the long vertical cut that was on his neck, especially given to him by his precious beast.

Nonetheless, he admired the beautiful scars just because they were given to him by Alpha. Subconsciously, he lost himself again and just stared at the alluring face with a big warm smile on his face.

The beast noticed him staring, and he snarled at him, but Lia ignored him and continued staring at his lips.

"Why do you have blood on your lips? Did you just finish eating before I came here?"

The only answer he received was a deadly glare. Lia came to know that they only fed him raw meat and that only once in a while.

Lia is now used to his grumpy attitude and cold behaviour towards him, but it doesn't mean it doesn't prick him. He still didn't know why the beast was acting like that, and it was making him frustrated.

He wanted to get close to him but Alpha kept on pushing him away. It was as if the beast was afraid of something.

But that couldn't be true, he was the most dangerous being Lia had ever seen, and nothing could scare him.

Unless...

Lia's eyes widened, and a sudden realization hit him, making his heart race. "Are you...Are you scared of me?"

The beast didn't answer, his head tilted to the side trying to understand him. Lia stared at him for a while, and the longer the beast stared at him the faster his heart beat.

But how is it possible, the guy who is so dangerous and powerful, the most feared, is scared of Lia?

Or maybe he really was scared and the reason he killed all those guards was because he was just protecting himself.

And that's exactly he's doing right now. Protecting himself from Lia, just not attacking Lia like those guards.

Lia couldn't believe it, but it made sense. The way the beast was looking at him like a target, the way he was so ready to attack him, and the way he was always alert. It all makes sense now.

"It's okay if you're scared. I understand," Lia said, crawling forward. Alpha took a step back, his hands clenched into fists."I won't hurt you. You don't have to be scared of me," Lia continued to move closer, and Alpha continued backing away from him.

"Wait," Lia repeated, taking another cautious step forward, the beast still backing away. "I'm not gonna--ugh! What are you doing?!" Lia's words were cut off when Alpha pounced on him, sending them both to the ground.

Alpha's hand wrapped around his neck, his fingers digging into his throat. And by how many times Lia had got his neck choked, it's a miracle he's still alive.

But, it's enough. So what if he likes this man, just how many times would he taste the dirt for him? Using his whole strength, Lia pushed the beast off him, and jumped to his feet. Coughing, he tried to run away from him, but Alpha followed him.

"Stop! I'm not going to hurt you, stop following me!" Lia yelled as he backed away as fast as he could. But Alpha was too strong and too fast for him. He caught up with Lia easily, and grabbed his arm, abruptly pulling him back. Pushing him back on the floor and choking him once again.

Lia pushed him again but Alpha pulled him back on the floor hovering over him and clutching his neck.

"Haha---ok, ok, stop!" The procedure repeated for a while and at some time Lia began to laugh. Fed up with whatever game Alpha wanted to play with him.

The beast was shocked, his brows creasing in disarray. Why is this human making these weird noises again? As if the strange wasn't enough, the human was crazy as well.

Lia couldn't hold it, his shoulders shook as his laughter grew louder, tears welling in his eyes. "Instead of scaring me you are rather cute you know that. Do you want to play with me? If you don't want to tell me your name then, at least tell me how old you are."

Alpha scowled down on him, no traces of amusement in his eyes. But Lia's eyes were shining with playfulness, and a huge smile was plastered on his face. "I'm serious, you have a name, right? Tell me. Because I'm sick and tired of calling you a beast or a psycho. Tell me your name, or I'm going to come up with a random funny name for you."

Alpha tightened his grip and lowered his face, snarling menacingly he didn't shy from punching the fool under him. Since he can't speak, his punch says, "Don't push your luck. You can't ask for much. Be grateful that I haven't killed you yet, you crazy human! Be grateful you are alive. And stop showing me your teeth!"

Lia stared at him for a moment, his smile was gone from his face. He sighed. "I guess you really hate me." Lia raised his hand and reached out to him.

The beast's eyes widened, his body froze in place on top of Lia. The fear that was in his eyes was replaced by darkness, and his body tensed. He growled, his hands shaking. But Lia didn't back down, his hand was still reaching out, the silver-brown eyes watching him closely. Alpha could hear the sound of his own heart pounding against his chest, his breathing getting heavier and faster, and his hands starting to sweat. He was terrified, he didn't want to feel the pain again, but his fear was slowly being replaced by haze.

And then, something soft suddenly touched his cheeks, it was warm, so warm it almost burned.

"Your cheeks are so warm. Is this because you are hot or because you are blushing?" Lia teased in a gentle voice, his thumb slowly rubbing circles on his cheeks. He watched as Alpha's eyes widened, his body frozen as he stared at him. Lia was scared too, he wanted to tell Alpha that he wouldn't harm him like others, that he wanted to protect him and take him out of there to a safe place.

Alpha was silent, but his eyes were fixed on him, his lips were pressed together, and his body shaking slightly. He couldn't move, the soft touch on his cheek was making him feel strange, a feeling he couldn't understand. His body felt hot, his heart beating fast, his breath heavy. The feeling was unfamiliar, but it was pleasant, soothing even. He frowned, unsure of what was happening. He had never experienced anything like a soft touch.

"You are beautiful," Lia's voice was calm, his touch was gentle, and his eyes were lovesick. A blush crept up his neck hearing his own words and that he said it unknowingly aloud, but the effect on the beast was immediate, a deep blush spreading across his face as though he understood it.

Lia laughed, his thumb tracing the beast's cheekbones. "Are you blushing? Do you even understand me? Can you understand what I am saying?" He whispered, loving the way Alpha was letting him touch his face.

But Alpha was frightened, maybe unnerved but he unconsciously pushed his face further into the warm hand. His heart was about to leap out of his mouth, his face was burning hot. He didn't know why, but he was terrified of this emotion.

So he did what his instincts told him, he attacked Lia, but this time, he didn't stop.

"Ow!" Lia yelped in pain, his jaw stung from the rough punch. "What's wrong with you again?!"

But Alpha only punched him again. Lia flinched, pain shooting through his arm. Taking a deep breath, he grabbed Alpha's both arms and pushed him back. The force was too strong, making Alpha fall on his back and Lia landed on top of him this time. Reminding Alpha of his real place.

They were so close, that Lia could feel the warmth coming from the beast's body, his chest rising and falling with every breath. When Alpha tried to put up a fight Lia pressed his full weight down, pinning him in place. Alpha was built majestically but Lia was still bigger than him.

Unable to process the sudden change, Alpha looked at him in shock. Lia grinned down at him seeing his shocked reaction. He pinned Alpha's wrist on the floor, and leaned his forehead against the beast's. He stared back into those angry and confused bloodshot eyes, his breath tingling on Alpha's lips because their faces were just inches away.

Alpha could feel the weight on top of him, the pressure on his wrists, the heat of Lia's body, and his scent invading his nostrils. It made his own face burn up.

"Cut it out! You think I can't hit you back just because you're handsome! Well, I can so don't test me-" Alpha's body went stiff, his mouth dropping open, his eyes wide. Lia stopped talking suddenly and his eyebrows shot up, and he pulled his head back. Did the beast just blush?

Lia grinned, his lips curled upwards, his eyes bright. "Well don't look at me like this. It makes me want to fuck you."

They both just stared at each other intensely. "Hey, are you going to blink or what? Or maybe don't blink, this is better. Keep looking at me," Lia's heart started racing and it made him nervous. "Okay, okay, I guess I'll let go first. Stop looking at me as if you really understand me and thinking about getting fucked by me."

Swallowing his own words, he gets away from Alpha or he doesn't know what he would do.

And so it started. He began to visit Alpha daily, and every time he came he would bore Alpha with his blabbering which made no sense to the beast obviously.

And on his each visit, the scars on Alpha's body worsened.

Lia felt pity but it was different from what others have shown alpha. His pity was genuine. Lia felt bad and didn't understand how they could be so cruel to someone who didn't know anything. He wondered how long they'd been keeping him here.

But it was wrong. They were all wrong, and they should pay for what they were doing to Alpha. Lia decided he had to save him. He wanted to be his saviour and protect him.

But he needs to know who exactly Alpha is.

"Hey, are you going to answer? Who are you?"

No answer.

"Okay, let me guess. Your name is John."

No response.

"Peter."

Nothing.

"So umm..Charlie, Obama? Elsa? Batman? Alex? Santa Claus?"

Nothing.

"Fine, if you're not going to answer, then I'm not going to come and visit you anymore. You won't see me again. I'm just going to leave and forget about you," He let out confidently which was crushed when Alpha showed no reaction.

Lia blushed, feeling embarrassed. "Fine. See, I'm leaving. I'm going. You won't see me anymore."

Alpha was watching him and just sat in a corner. Lia sighed helplessly. "Okay, see you later. Maybe I'll come and see you again. But maybe I won't. You won't see me anymore."

And Lia left the room.

It's been a few days, and Lia hasn't visited Alpha. Which kind of made him restless. He couldn't stop thinking about the strange human. He didn't know why he couldn't stop thinking about him, and it was driving him crazy. Why is it that whenever the strange human wasn't in front of me it made his chest pain and stomach growl? He wanted to see him, always. Here, in front of him.

And then, suddenly, the door creaked open.

"Hey, I'm back. I know you don't want to see my handsome face but–Agh!" As soon as he entered Alpha attacked him and pushed him to the floor and got on top of Lia.

Alpha stared in his eyes intensely pressing Lia down under his weight. Lia was trapped underneath him and shocked as hell. Alpha didn't growl at him like always, but Lia could tell he was pissed.

"W…Wh...y" Lia froze hearing Alpha making a sound for the first time. He was shocked and at the same time mesmerised by the way Alpha's lips were opening and closing.

Lia felt his breath getting hitched, and his heart skipped a beat. His pulse was racing, it was making him nervous. He felt his body getting hot and sweaty, and felt his cheeks getting red. Was he finally gonna hear his voice?

Lia was in love.

He never knew what love was, but now he finally understood. He finally found the person who made him feel these weird feelings.

Lia's eyes wandered to his lips and stared at them. Alpha's lips were so pink and plump, and he wanted to taste them. He closed his eyes and imagined how those lips would taste. He imagined what it would feel like to have those lips against his.

Alpha pushed Lia back and got off of him. He stood up and took a few steps back from him.

Lia was confused as to why he pushed him away again. But he was beyond shock when he saw Alpha's sad eyes looking back at him and not his usually signature dull expression.

"W-Why…?" Alpha breathed out, his voice hoarse because he hadn't spoken in a long time. But his words were sad and heart-wrenching.

Lia frowned, and didn't quit understanding him. Is he asking why I haven't visited him lately?

Lia couldn't bear to watch him so miserable, it pained his heart. He ran to him and hugged him tightly.

"I-I'm sorry. I'll come and see you daily from now on. I promise!"
