Chapter 2

I silently averted my gaze.

"Thank you for your concern, Doctor Rockwell."

At the dinner table, Felicity served me food as usual.

"Alec, these are your favorite barbecue ribs. Have some more."

But her other hand remained intertwined with Draven's, her index finger occasionally tickling his palm.

I smiled bitterly and lowered my head, only to see Draven's foot gently brushing against Felicity's leg, slowly moving upward.

Felicity, sitting beside me, let out a muffled sound, as if desperately trying to suppress something.

I pretended not to notice.

"What's wrong, honey? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"

Felicity's gaze was fixed intently on Draven, but her words were in response to me.

"No, I just bit my tongue. It's nothing."

A few minutes later, Felicity stood up.

"I just remembered I have something to take care of. Alec, you and Doctor Rockwell keep eating."

Before I could say anything, Felicity hastily got up and pulled Draven to the couch. Draven wanted to cry out, but stopped when his gaze fell upon me.

The two were lost in a passionate kiss on the couch, Draven's hands wandering over Felicity's body in a frenzy of desire.

I spoke softly.

"Doctor Rockwell, please eat some more."

Draven, who was currently pinning Felicity beneath him, took a moment to catch his breath and gave a slight "Mmm" in response to my words.

From where I sat, I had a clear view of the living room couch, every one of their movements distinctly visible to me.

They were trying hard to keep quiet, and I felt like I was watching a colorful silent film.

I mechanically stuffed the barbecue ribs Felicity had served me into my mouth.

How bitter, wasn't it supposed to be sweet and sour? Why was it so bitter?

The bitterness made my eyes sting with unshed tears.

After quite some time, perhaps realizing that if they continued any further they wouldn't be able to stop, Felicity returned to my side and gave Draven a knowing look.

Draven understood immediately.

"Alec, I don't think there are any new issues with your eyes. I'll be heading out now. Remember to come to the hospital for a follow-up when you have time."

Felicity chimed in at this moment."I awoke to find Doctor Rockwell was going to leave." "It's almost getting dark now. Our community is quite large. Let me accompany Dr Rockwell out."

Their lips were swollen, yet their conversation was so natural, as if what they were saying was true.

I mocked myself in my heart.

How many times has such deception occurred in the past three years?

Felicity walked to the door, opened it, and then closed it.

After making sure I heard the sound of the door closing, Draven suddenly picked Felicity up in his arms and walked into the guest bedroom.

I heard it again.

The strange noises I heard every time she said she was dealing with official business at home, I heard them again.

Felicity, how dare she! How dare she!

I took a deep look at the direction of the guest bedroom, then walked into the master bedroom without looking back.

Such a dirty scene should not soil my newly recovered eyes.

When I woke up the next day, Felicity had already gone out.

As I sat up in bed, Draven walked into my room with practiced ease.

"Alec, you can see now, right?"
