Chapter 4

I opened my phone to find that Seraphina had sent me a message half an hour ago.

"Come to Century Bridal."

When I arrived, Seraphina looked impatient.

"What took you so long?"

Before I could answer, Liam excitedly grabbed my arm.

"Dashiell, bro! You're finally here. Come help me see if this wedding dress looks good!"

"Seraphina says once she picks out a dress she likes, we'll have the wedding next month..."

The smile on my face stiffened slightly.

I instinctively looked at Seraphina. She was still staring at me with her deep eyes, her expression unreadable.

"Really? Congratulations."

Liam, bubbly and cheerful, quickly chose a custom-made wedding gown. He turned to me playfully.

"Let's go with this one. Dashiell, bro, don't you think Seraphina would look stunning in it?"

I nodded stiffly, "Beautiful."

How could it not be?

I recognized this wedding dress.

It was the one I had spent two whole months designing by hand.

When Seraphina received it, she was thrilled, saying she'd wear it for me at our wedding. However, after the incident, our wedding was called off, and I became a pariah in the Stone family.

This wedding dress, after twists and turns, was to appear at Seraphina's wedding.

While Seraphina was in the fitting room adjusting her wedding dress.

Liam coldly taunted me.

"Dashiell, if it weren't for what happened three months ago, you'd probably be married to Seraphina by now, huh?"

"It's truly ironic. You and Seraphina weren't meant to be, I'm her destined husband. You're the one who got her brother killed. Though she doesn't say it, she hates you to her core."

A hint of venom flashed in his eyes as he approached me threateningly, step by step.

"If you know what's good for you, you'll get away from Seraphina right now."

"Besides, you were her ex-boyfriend. You leaving would be good for all of us."

My palm stung with a prickling pain.

I must have accidentally dug my nails into my flesh.

I heard my own voice softly respond.

"Okay."

The doctor said I have less than a month to live.

It won't be long before I leave you all for good.

"Liam, I wish you both happiness," I said, with all sincerity." What are you two talking about?"

Seraphina's puzzled voice came from outside.

Liam glared at me, then shoved me hard.

After walking out of the fitting room, Seraphina looked me up and down suspiciously.

"Dashiell, I hope you're clear about your current status. The person I'm marrying is Liam."

I nodded, watching her show off this wedding dress to Liam with my own eyes, forcing back my tears.

"I have something to take care of, I'll go take a call first."

I couldn't control myself anymore and ran out, ran to a corner, and could no longer hold back, coughing up a mouthful of blood.

Hearing familiar footsteps behind me, I quickly wiped away the blood from the corner of my mouth.

Seraphina pinned me against the wall with a frenzied look.

"Dashiell, why are you so stubborn!"

"I told you, as long as you apologize to me, I'll allow you to stay by my side..."

Meeting her obsessive gaze, I said, "I'm sorry."

Seraphina looked at me in shock, "What did you say?"
