The Entrance Exam of Kaelis (15)

After an hour Simon finished his preparation and as he went outside and went to the dining room he saw Selene' brushing Kaelis' hair and she gave him a backpack

"Listen, Kaelis,, after you come home, you'll get a surprise, alright? So be good, and follow Simon."

Said Selene' to Kaelis who nodded and smiled at her happily they saw Simon in his school uniform with his bag and staff

"Is Kaelis ready? And who is going to take us to school?"

Simon asked Selene and she smiled and responded also holding Kaelis' hands

"Yeah, he's ready, his bag should be everything he needs. Also, it's a dimensional pocket product brand, so y'know, it has a lot of what he needs, like his robots and tools, o and I'll be the one who's going to take you and pick you up. "

Simon thought in his head of how expensive that brand is especially that space to fit everything in the cave as he visualized the mountain of money Selene must've spent

"Damn, as in the Dimensional Pocket? Isn't that one of the most expensive brands for a bag? How do you- oh right... Dad's allowance."

As they go out of the mansion, Selene's car is in front of Alistair waiting for them. The car has the symbol of the Velthornes engraved on the side of the door.

The symbol was an eerie eye staring through a tear in space with flames and thorns surrounding the tear.

Suddenly Alistair said something to Simon

"It seems you survived your brothers. I know you have the potential to keep going. You can do it."

Simon smiled at Alistair and nodded before going to the car with Selene and Kaelis, During the 20-minute drive Kaelis got bored and bombarded Simon with endless questions about the surroundings so Simon gave Kaelis his phone to entertain him

After a while they arrive and the students outside are going nuts as a car with the Velthorne symbol arrives and so they start gossiping talking bad about Simon, after some seconds the car door opens with a small child walking out and then Simon, before Kaelis and Simon could get far they were interrupted by Selene getting out of the car shouting at them

"Hey! Simon, Kaelis! I'll pick you up later, and Simon, if anyone tries to hurt Kaelis, pray for them before I find out!"

Students, male or female, were enamored by Selene's beauty. They started gossiping between themselves, and some were even blushing crimson after seeing Selene.

Simon and Kaelis go inside the school and one particular punk approaches Simon who is holding Kaelis' hand the punk asks him a question

"Hey Simon is your sister single y'know we could have some fun she looks like a s-"

Simon was pissed and so he beats the dude up Kaelis heard some of the dude's sentences and so he pulls out a hammer before he could strike the man killing him stops him with flaming chains, Simon warns the dude with a cold and cruel tone hinting at something bad happening if he were to do it again

"Shut the fuck up. Dishonor any of the Velthorne names, and you will part with life."

Of course, because he did that he was sent to the headmaster's office, as both Simon and Kaelis approached the office Theron Blackthorn came out with papers and greeted Simon

"Ah, Simon, nice to see you getting sent to the office, eh? It's probably not your fault anyway good luck"

Before Simon could greet Theron he already left so Simon and Kaelis went into the office, and the Headmaster was waiting, Simon sat down and greeted the Headmaster but he interrupted him

"Good morning Sir Arcanis Vaylor, I know I'm here, but I must say you know the Velthorne clan isn't kind to any who tries to dishonor any members especially if they're well known like my sister Selene, and so I was just teaching him a lesson, you know that it doesn't matter if the person is part of a well off clan right? You know we killed people like that before, right? He called my sister a slut and tried to imply that he'll do something inappropriate with her. And so choose to expel me or give that dude a scolding and detention to save his life."

The headmaster scrambled not expecting Simon who was once shy and timid to have a site like this but he does know that Velthorne has a temper for those who try to dishonor the clan so he apologizes for the actions of that student

"I gravely apologize on his behalf I hope you show him mercy."

Simon sighs and responds

"Fine, I'm going back to class oh but this kid is also a Velthorne he's smart and strong enough to skip a lot of grades to enter high school, it doesn't matter that we're already in the mid-terms just treat him like a transferee his name is Kaelis Velthorne, he's going to take the entrance exam"

The headmaster responds and calls Theron

"Alright, I'll call Theron to escort Kaelis toward the examination grounds"

Simon waved goodbye to Kaelis who waved back and smiled innocently and he spoke to the headmaster

"Y'know I didn't know Simon could be that angry, I almost hit the punk with a huge hammer too"

Before the headmaster could try to reprimand Kaelis he was interrupted by Theron coming into the office

"Why am I being called? Oh, aren't you the kid that was with Simon?"

Kaelis smiles and nods before responding to Theron with a respectful tone

"Yeah I am, oh and you were called to take me to the examination grounds"

Theron looked amused and curious so he led Kaelis to the examination grounds while asking him about his capabilities

"Oh me? I'm a mechanist, so of course I can design different kinds of techs but I specify in one type of tech"

Theron looked even more amused but before he could ask about it they reached the examination grounds and he informed Kaelis about the examination

"So you will have to go through 3 exams, written, practical, and battle, don't worry about the battle it'll be adjusted according to your job, and I'll be the one watching over you in the exams"

Kaelis looked happy and curious while Theron was thinking about the Mechanist job mostly about how that job has been on a steady decline ever since the loss of the God of Machinery

"Yeah, I can do this! Gimme the written test now I'll ace it!"

Theron laughed at his confidence and so he gave it to Kaelis expecting him to fail spectacularly as the subjects were mostly about monster anatomy, mana theorems, history, and gods but in just 10 minutes Kaelis finished the test and mostly got all of them correct except the part about gods

"You're an interesting kid what's your name again?"

Kaelis smiles and responds with a happy tone

"I'm Kaelis Velthorne!'

Theron paused not expecting Kaelis to be part of the Velthornes nonetheless he continued to the practical part for Mechanist and he gave Kaelis a look at another Mechanomica it was also broken but Kaelis was shocked and intrigued seeing another of that kind of robot in this place, suddenly Theron interrupts Kaelis' train of thought

"Now you must be wondering what this is, this is a robot found in the ruins of an old sanctuary worshipping the god of machinery, all you must do is to point out some problems and possible solutions on how to fix them"

Kaelis looked closely seeing some problems I noticed by Theron as all he knew was that the core wasn't activating for some reason, and then Kaelis spoke with a confident tone

"So, seeing closely the core is of course broken to fix that we must replace it or make a new one, 2nd this one seems to be some type of mage its arm looks decayed we must clean and replace the broken parts, 3rd the internal mechanisms are broke most of them are crushed and destroyed"

Theron looked shocked as all the past mechanist students only pointed out the core and nothing else he clapped his hands and looked even more amused and he led Kaelis to the last test the battle test

"Here Kaelis you have to fight some monsters to find your battle capabilities, good luck"

Suddenly Kaelis pulled out the giant hammer looking to be around 50 pounds or so the monsters arrived by the gate in front of Kaelis 5 Miles appeared and Kaelis quickly deduced it must be Iron-mole a robot from another world with a strong outer layer

Suddenly, one mole dug underground and almost got Kaelis' leg, but he kicked and waved his legs around, throwing the monster off-guard. As the mole came out, Kaelis raised his hammer and hit the monster directly in the head, killing it.

The other 4 jumped Kaelis, but he ran away for a bit until they were all separated, and he started fighting the miles one-on-one, each falling like flies because of Kaelis' unexpected strength.
