The Land of War and Flames [1] (16)

Simon after going to class discovers that they already left after being informed by the teacher that they had gone to the Sparring class there's a special guest for today, Simon thanks the teacher before running off and going back because he forgot to say something

"Oh, thanks, sir! I'll leave now.... oh right! If there's any way I can get the missing points for today and tomorrow that would be wonderful"

Before the teacher could say anything about the test Simon already left to go to his next class.

Simon walked to his next class with a staff in hand; as he was peacefully walking, someone tapped him on his shoulder, and as he looked behind, he saw Lucia smiling at him.

Simon skilled back at Lucia and greeted her with a warm and caring voice making Lucia's face light up with red and heat up

"Good morning, darling how have you been?"

Lucia snapped back and strumbled on her words trying to act unfazed by Simon's words

"He-hey! Where did that darling come from?! That d-does not suit you at all!"

Lucia hits Simon several times with playful punches but to Simon, it hurts due to the fact Lucia's strength is far above average because of her job as a swordsman.

Simon just sighs and responds to Lucia, making her calm down a bit, but they still pout and sigh like a little kid.

"I don't either I just said it just because, anyway I'm sorry if I caught you off-guard or offended you, let's go to our next class Battle Arts: Blades of Knowledge"

"Hm, it's fine I'm not offended if anything... Never mind forget I said anything! But, like, honestly, the name for that class is horrendous. It makes you wonder who named it..."

Lucia said to Simon; Simon laughed at Lucia's opinion, admitting it was quite funny.

"Well yeah I agree, it sounds really funny if we were characters of a novel, I'd honestly reprimand the author for making a name like that"

Lucia laughs at Simon's rant before asking about Kaelis' whereabouts and asking if he's fine

"By the way, what happened to Kaelis? Where is he? Is he fine?"

Simon thinks and smiles before responding

"Yeah he is he's been energetic since this morning, and he's here right now taking the entrance exam it seems he was way too smart and talented for schools his age"

Lucia smiles at him and makes Simon Crouch at her level by gesturing him to come close to her, then she suddenly pinches Simon's face teasing him

"Like father like son huh? And don't you dare act humble with me I know you could've been a powerful person by now if you had the solution to your disability long ago"

Simon lets it happen anyway and waits for Lucia to stop, after a while Lucia lets go of his face and they reach the class in the middle of an introduction of the special guest interrupting him with the slam of the door and shutting the crowd of students into silence

"I'm Kaelen Ashwryn, and I'm the special guest for today you may know me from different media, so you don't need to use honorifics I'm still the same as you students and we're all similar ages so please drop the honorifics but, please calm down-"

Kaelen looked good, he had crimson-red hair his eyes had a molten amber color, and his skin looked light bronze he was maybe 5'11 and he had a lean athletic build

The teacher sees both of them and shouts at both of them, reprimanding them and then insulting Simon, making Lucia angry.

"What are you two doing being late to class?! Do you know how rude it is to interrupt a guest's introduction?! I don't care that both of you are from really well-known families. You should still know respect, and you, Simon! You already have your problem. You should at least strive to do better! I swear you must be a disappointment to the Velthorne family. You need to do better next time you need to do something and be useful don't be a useful son of a bitch."

Murmurs between students intensify and get louder by the second, little by little giggles and full-on laughter mocking Simon. Suddenly Lucia's voice tears through the voices making Simon shout back to their teacher and insult the students

"SHUT UP! Understandably, you were angry that we were late to class and interrupting someone, but do you need to insult Simon and his mother? Yo-"

Simon had Lucia's shoulder gesturing her to stop and Age couldn't say anything to Simon who just looked quite calm yet something was wrong because of how hard he was holding her shoulder

"Excuse me, but are you sure you can handle the wrath of the Velthorne clan?"

Just by his voice rage and hate were felt by the crowd, the students are silenced and his teacher is taken aback before his teacher could say anything he interrupts the bitch

"Shut the fuck up. Answer me, Can you handle the wrath of the Velthorne clan!"

Simon walks towards his teacher holds his collar and stares deep into his eyes scaring his teacher

"Don't you dare call my mother a bitch. Try it again and you will become just another example of why you shouldn't mess with the Velthorne clan and not a human"

Suddenly Kaelen held Simon's arms and it felt hot like a raging fire suddenly flames envelope Kaelen's hands and it was a golden fire burning Simon yet he was unfazed just staring at Kaelen and ordering him to take his hand off his arm

"Take you damn hand off you shit-head, I don't care if your a damned hotshot and so take that hand off before I help you take it off"

Kaelen was amused and laughed before taking his hand off, Simon also let his teacher go who was on the ground shaking with fear and shock, suddenly Kaelen proposed a deal

"Tell you what, I'll let go of the offense if we have a duel but if you lose say sorry to the class and don't talk with my "fiance" ever again if I lose I'll give you something you want"

Simon still looked pissed and so he responds

"Sure, let's do it here and now. But who's your fiance?"

Kaelen laughed and before he could say anything Lucia shouted angrily and offended

"Shut up! How many times do I need to tell you to stop calling me your fiance and how many times do I need to reject you!"
