Kaelen acted hurt at Lucia's words but Simon just watched still pissed at his teacher for daring to mention his mother

"Oh, I'm sorry, darling. Would you ever forgive me?"

Said Kaelen to which Lucia just looked disgusted and scoffed

"Ugh this man is unbearable c'mon Simon let's just leave already"

Simon looked angry as if he needed something to take off his rage suddenly Simon spoke with bloodlust

"Nah, I need to relieve my stress right now I'll try to make it quick"

Lucia sighed and waited for Simon to finish, Suddenly Kaelen took the first move with a flying golden ring of fire almost hitting Simon in the face but he luckily slipped avoiding the hit, Kaelen teased Simon with a mocking tone

"Oooh lucky~ I'll try to do it again now [Solbrand Halo]"

Suddenly, more golden rings of fire light around Kaelen, which he uses by sending it all at once toward Simon.

Simon sensing the danger uses his mana manifesting a small force of gravity throwing the rings' trajectory off avoiding the sure-hut effect on him

"Oh, well that's a pretty interesting affinity that sure reminds me of someone"

Simon fought back with discs of pure mana at Kaelen suddenly Kaelen felt the danger and dodged he asked Simon if the "spell" used by him earlier was just his mana he had heard of this before but he disregarded it because it's so rare for someone to have mana with their magical affinity

"Oi, was that a spell just now?"

Said Kaelen seriously to which Simon just nonchalantly responds

"And what if it isn't?"

Kaelen smiles and responds

"Show me what you can do Simon Velthorne! Show me your potential! [Ashveil Ward]"

Huge walls of golden fire appear in front of Kaelen. Simon thinks it only protects Kealen, so he sends arrow-like projectiles piercing through the walls, almost hitting Kaelen, but he moves to the side.

Suddenly, Kaelen moved the walls forward and towards Simon. Simon was taken aback, but he quickly reacted by running out of the way.

Kaelen followed up with another spell and he chanted giving it more firepower

"Y'know, if you're going to use a spell, chant it; it gives it more power and more effective rather than just saying the name. Here, I'll give an example. Oh Primordial Fire Heed My Requests Summon The Wrath Of A Dragon [Dragon's Breath]"

Suddenly golden flames appeared and moved like a dragon's breath heating the air around it and consuming any enemies foolish enough to be close to it, Simon was alarmed and so he moved further away he threw a ball miniature black hole yet it was nowhere near the power of even the smallest of yet it still consumed the raging and intense fire

Kaelen smiled maniacally and praised Simon for his skill and creativity

"Yes, that's it! Make it better! Make it your very own spell! Goodness, by the minute, you remind me more and more of that woman, that terrifyingly strong woman!"

Simon chants a spell after just recently seeing Kaelen do it

"Spirits Of The Natural Order Grant Me The Permission to Weave Gravity To My Liking [ Singularity Bloom]"

A small space around Kaelen collapses in itself, making a small black hole. Kaelen's spells just get absorbed by the black hole, wasting his mana reserves; Kaelen stopped casting all altogether and stood his ground, waiting for the spell to stop.

After 10 seconds of continuous casting for the spell, Simon stopped and looked burdened and tired due to the power and he couldn't handle it yet so he took heavy breaths suddenly Kaelen used the opportunity to attack Simon with more golden fire rings

Simon nimbly dodged and was still tired but still sent back more magic discs, to which Kaelen responded by casting a spell

"Raging Fire Spirits Manifest And Take The Form Of Noble Arrows Burn And Defeat my Enemies [Fire Arrow Spirits]"

Fire Spirits Manifest and turns into beautifully crafted arrows that are sent flying towards Simon piercing through the air and burning Simon as he is hit by one on the hand. Lucia looked worried and shouted at Simon

"Simon, stop this already!"

Simon just shrugs it off and the fire arrow disappears some moments later

"I'm fine, I can keep going"

Simon used the Aries constellation's power and chanted a fire attribute spell

"Flames Of War Create Chains That Binds Down Even Gods And Consume Fools That Are Touched By Such Rage [Raging Hell Chains]"

The new spell created binds Kaelen's burning scars into his arms, and a sudden burst of flames consumes him, burning him into oblivion.

As the flame dies out Kaelen comes out burned yet still standing and he smiles revealing that he used a thin layer of his own fire not letting it be consumed by Simon's own fire

"Your flames... They're certainly strong they have the spirit and confidence that rivals... No, they're stronger than mine... But they lack determination, resolve, and purpose. Show me your strongest fire spell. Show me your true power."

Simon smiles and chants a spell

"Oh Holy Flames Of Ares Show Your Lamb The Flames That Countless Consumed Wars And Countries For Your Purpose [Holy Flames Of War]"

As Simon was chanting his spell Kaelen chanted another version of Dragon's Breath

"Oh Primordial Fire Heed My Request And Summon The Wrath Of A Dragon And Spiral The Rivaling Flames, Consume and Make It Your Own [Fire Dragon's Spiraling Breath]"

Simon's spell condensed into a fireball. It was so hot it felt like the air around it was burning; the flame itself had the colors of the entire flame spectrum flashing back and forth.

Kaelen's spell was sent at Simon's, and their spells collided. It was the Dragon's Breath, yet it was different. Rather than just going straight, it sacrificed some range for it to spiral, consuming any spells.

After some moments, Simon's spell was devoured by Kaelen's, and Kaelen's spell hit Simon, defeating Simon and knocking him out, yet Simon suddenly levitated with white eyes and a magical aura resembling the cosmos, and in Simon's sight, it was all dark except for a status window.

Kaelen was shocked but in just some moments Simon's sudden power surge stopped and he was knocked out, Kaelen looked amused and he knelled down to Simon's level

"Maybe in just some time, you might surpass me. Let's battle again sometime, oh, and forget our deal, alright?"

Kaelen found a new-found respect for Simon as he tried to get up but was also knocked out, succumbing to his injuries
