This time, it wasn't me who attacked first, but my opponent. His pet abruptly made a dash forwards, pouncing at me, however I sharply moved out of his way with water magic. wouldn't say I was in the best place to fight.
I can't use half of my abilities here, and my maximum power comes from water magic. And I can't use fire or magma because I'm just driving myself into the water.
And I'm not sure I'm going to be able to break through this thing. So what do I do in this situation? The best way would be to get rid of the rider first, and then calm the fish down. Without control, it will act dumber and I can either tackle it or run away.
After making a few jerks, I turn around sharply and rush towards the rider, speeding myself up as much as possible with magic. But the man doesn't even care, looking at it. And I realise in a moment why exactly. There was some sort of water-based barrier where my blow should have landed. I couldn't break through it, nor could I control it.
And that made it difficult to fight under these conditions. However, I have a solution. Although it will be quite difficult to make ranged attacks in such an environment, but I have a way.
I create ice spears that rush into the rider. This makes the water a bit colder, but I've been making the water a bit warmer since the beginning of my swim, so now I'm just heating up the water a bit more.
My spears also smash into the barrier, but judging by the rider's face, which didn't express anything positive, that shield doesn't last long.I launch a few more spears at the rider and see the last of the spears go through the barrier and into the rider's eye. It should get easier now, I'm getting tired of dodging that fish.
After his death, the monster seemed to go into berserk mode, lunging at me with no mercy. and crashing into the walls of the cave. But then, when I had almost forgotten about the fact that there were several fish in here, I got a feeling as if someone would attack me from behind and bite me in half.
I jumped forward and saw the second monster, which I didn't feel at all, closing its mouth in the place where I was a moment ago. That's how Jason's skill of warning of mortal danger works.
Very interesting, though not particularly pleasant. Still, I phantomly felt like I'd been bitten. And that's not very pleasant, to be honest.....
However, the first fish was almost exhausted, because of the fact that it crashed into the walls of the cave, but still tried to get me somehow. The stealthy fish quickly returned to the seaweed, and I could only see its eyes occasionally flickering among the greenery.
In general, something seems to me that it is dangerous to stay here, because the cave is not so strong, and this fish may well collapse it. I'll try to escape, and if the monsters swim after me, it will be possible to deal with them not in such a tight space.
Getting out of the cave wasn't that difficult. The monster was tired and couldn't stop me, and the second monster just didn't want to get out because of the seaweed, so it didn't prevent me from getting out in any way. However, the first monster still chased after me, still furious.
Strange... Maybe after the death of the rider it had some sort of self-destruct programme switched on, where it had to try to kill the enemy at all costs. Quite possibly...
However, when the fish swam out of the cave after me, I felt someone approaching us. Was it the help arriving? Looks like I'll have to kill a few more people.....
But when I saw the new arrival, I realised I didn't need to kill him. And the new arrival is Aquaman, or Arthur Curry, King of Atlantis himself.
- Hit that armour on the right side of his head, that's where the control chip is! - he shouted, and I could hear him perfectly well, though I can't speak freely in the water. Well, Atlanteans have their racial bonuses after all.
Deciding to trust the superhero, I sharply approach the creature and strike it in that part of the armour, just shattering it. It was surprisingly fragile, though that's understandable if it really is a control chip.
After that, the fish calmed down a bit and started looking at Aquaman strangely, and he just stared back at it. Kind of like that one can telepathically communicate with any sea creatures. So now he should be just about negotiating with her.
After a few more seconds, the huge fish swam back into the cave, and Arthur stared at me. I gestured him to swim upstairs, because I couldn't talk here.
He understood me and started to swim up. I accelerated sharply and literally burst out of the water, standing on the water surface. Heh, I wonder if I can be considered Jesus now. Although I'm only standing like this because of my control over the water. What's interesting is that I can control the four elements even without the movements that the original mages required.
- Wow, you're a tough guy, aren't you? - he asked me, holding on to the water.
- Didn't you realise that? - I answered him with a question for a question.
- Of course I did. Okay, I understand you were sent by the government because of recent cases," he began seriously, looking at me.
- Well, since we're having a serious conversation, I suggest we go to my boat and talk there. What do you think? - I asked him.
- It's not a bad idea. And I hope you have some whiskey. - he said, laughing.
- I just brought a bottle with me," I said calmly, not lying. I had actually bought a bottle of whiskey, hoping to meet this man. In the comics, he had a slight addiction to alcohol, and in reality it turned out to be the same.
- Let's swim then," he mumbled, but I was already moving towards the boat. It would be in the same place, and the waves wouldn't carry it away. Still, the Hassans stayed there, and it's in control.....
I soon spotted my vessel on the horizon and quickly made my way to it. Aquaman almost kept up with me. Well, that's in the water, let's see how fast he is on land.
- Come on in, make yourself comfortable," I said as I jumped on the ship. One of the Hassans was a silent shadow behind me. Aquaman gave Hassan a leering glance and just sat down at the table across from me.
Luckily it was a real fishing boat, so it was a nice table, the kind of table where fishermen had had a few drinks.
- I think we can start talking," I said, pouring whiskey into the large iron shot glasses I'd found on the boat.
- I'll introduce myself first. Arthur Curry, King of Atlantis," he said simply, lifting his chin slightly.
- Huh, there you go. Well, Your Majesty, I am Edmont Kent, Major in the United States Army and head of the Argent Squad, a special unit for suppressing supernatural threats," I said, emptying my shot glass in one gulp.
- Now we can get started," he said, drinking his share as well. Apparently he's suggesting I speak first.
- Well. Recently our people have started to disappear at sea, together with their ships. And the latest case was extremely unusual and serious, so I was called here to solve the situation. During the investigation, I realised that a certain Atlantis terrorist organisation was expressing extreme aggression towards us, and was planning to carry out terrorist attacks in major cities. That's if we don't take into account kidnappings, - I told him everything, including the claims, at the same time pouring whiskey into our glasses again.
- So, you are right about the terrorist organisation. It has been committing various terrorist acts for a long time, both in Atlantis itself and in different parts of the land. And it is very difficult for me to stop it, especially because of the passive policy of the past kings, - he paused to drain his glass again, - But I... and the whole Atlantis is striving for it. We throw all our energies into fighting them, and lately we've been more and more effective.
- Hmm, I understand you and your aspirations. But you must understand us as well. Your people are hurting ours, and so we can't just trust you and let it go," I said, looking him in the eye and taking a drink of my whiskey.
- So what do you want to offer me? - He asked, frowning slightly.
- I guess you could call it a small military alliance," I smiled, pouring again, "Me and maybe some members of my squad will come to Atlantis to help you destroy the whole organisation.
- Mmm, I don't know. We're not exactly allies yet, and I don't know what you're up to," he said calmly, calming down a little.
- If you are happy with this option, then after we finish with this organisation, we can consider the options of full cooperation between Atlantis and the USA, and mutually beneficial, - I said, smiling.
- That's more serious... But I need to consult with my aides. We can meet again in a couple of days, - he said, thinking for a while and drinking whiskey again.
- Agreed, then we'll meet in the port of San Francisco, exactly in three days," I drank my portion and poured us again. Then I drank it again.
- Then pour the last of it," he said, but by this time I had already poured it. He grinned and emptied his glass one last time," "See you then, Argent!
- See you later, King! - I said, grinning.
Now I have plans for the near future. I probably won't be able to come to Metropolis again, because it's a long way there and back. Then it will be necessary to take the flat and do the summoning. I've killed a few people, after all. Although... How many summons do I have?
Name: Edmond Kent.
Race: Human
Power Level: 8+
Available summons: 4.
Number of summoned: 10
Number absorbed: 10
Stock Characters: Takanashi Sayumi.
Heh, four more people, with Atlanteans clearly going to be stronger and better than normal humans, especially trained terrorists. And the next summoning promises to be an interesting one...
