The first sacrifice

In the forest that was vast, beautiful, and mysterious, lived ants as big as rabbits. One of those ants, with green horns, was lying dead in front of a white bird.

The white bird looked at the ant's lifeless corpse with some greed as well as a hint of guilt in it's golden eyes. The bird's golden eyes seemed eager for something or to do something.

After staring at the motionless corpse for a while, Ren shook his head and sighed.

"Now that I have killed it, how should I proceed with the sacrifice? Should I just chant my honorific name or make an altar or some sort?" Ren thought loudly as he remembered snuffing out the ant's life.

After laying a trap, Ren had somehow managed to lure this ant out from its nest. As the ant approached the trap laid by Ren, Ren became more and more anxious.

Thankfully, the trap worked, thanks to the bait Ren had placed. Ren had used an extremely sweet and juicy red fruit as bait to lure and trap the ant.

After the ant fell into the trap, Ren swiftly attacked and killed it.

Back to the present,

After careful consideration, Ren decided to quickly make an altar and sacrifice the corpse.

Since he didn't know how to make a proper altar, all he could do was place some flowers and stones near the ant's corpse.

After that, he drew two distinct symbols; one was of a bird and another was of an infinity symbol symbolizing infinite possibilities.

After finishing the preparation, he faced the makeshift altar and started chanting quietly.

"The God of Miracles

and the one with otherworldly knowledge,

The great Vasudev."

"Please accept my sacrifice and grant me your blessing."

Ren slowly opened his eyes, looking around, waiting for something dramatic to happen, but to his disappointment, nothing happened for a while. Just as Ren was about to try something else, suddenly, a cold wind blew at the altar, and brilliant white light enveloped the corpse of the ant.

Ren watched with his eyes wide open, disbelief and amazement evident in those golden eyes.

Back on earth he couldn't even dream of something like this but here, in this world it was not a dream but reality.

Ren's heart raced wildly as the corpse slowly vanished, replaced by pure energy. That energy felt very pure and …..sacred.

"Sacred energy!" Ren exclaimed, recognizing the energy floating in the air.

The sacred energy remained still for a while, then slowly propelled itself toward Ren. As the energy reached him, Ren felt the sacred energy enveloping and entering his soul.

Ren hurriedly summoned his abilities window to check if the sacrifice really worked or some evil spirit scammed him.

"Abilities Window"

Unique Skill: Fake God

No. of Followers: 1

Sacred Energy: 61

Fake God Name: Vasudev

Honorific Name: The God of Miracles and the One with Otherworldly Knowledge, The Great Vasudev.

"So, it really did work. I received 5 sacred energy by sacrificing that ant," Ren thought, feeling a little happy and proud for having his hard work rewarded.

"I should try sacrificing other things too. Who knows, I might receive some sacred energy from other things too," Ren said thoughtfully.

Listening to his words, the system intervened.

[Sacrifice only works on things that Possess life energy. So, it's no use trying to sacrifice non-living objects. Although it might work on some fruits and plants as well as on artifacts and relics but the amount of sacred energy you receive will be parallel to their value]

Feeling happy after knowing that fruits and plants could also be sacrificed, Ren decided to try and sacrifice some fruits and plants as well, along with those horned ants.

" I can't believe how hard I have to work just to gather some energy"

A month later,

Ren stood in front of a crude altar after just having sacrificed an ant, some plants, as well as some fruits.

"I hope this much will be enough. With this, I have about 700 sacred energy. It is finally time for my first miracle," Ren said with a serious expression on his bird face.

That's right. Ren was saving all the sacred energy he received without using a single bit, all for the sake of performing his first miracle.

He wanted his first miracle to be grand and long lasting so he had no choice to save as much as he could.
