Chapter 32: A New Home and a Confession

Gen and Lee walked into another apartment, checking out the space. It was spacious, modern, and had a warm feel to it.

Lee looked around, arms crossed. "This one is nice."

Gen grinned. "See? I told you I have good taste."

Lee rolled her eyes. "You just like the kitchen."

Gen gasped dramatically. "How dare you? I'm here for us, not just for food."

Lee gave her a look. "Right."

Gen laughed and pulled Lee toward the bedroom. "Come, let's check the most important part."

Lee sighed but followed. The bedroom was big, with a large bed and soft lighting.

Gen flopped onto the bed, patting the space next to her. "Feels good."

Lee stood near the door. "I'm not lying down."

Gen smirked. "Scared?"

Lee glared. "No."

Gen sat up, resting her chin on her palm as she looked at Lee. Then, out of nowhere, she said, "I love you."

Lee froze.

For a moment, she didn't say anything. She just stared at Gen like she had lost her mind.

Gen watched her reaction, then chuckled. "You don't have to say anything."

Lee opened her mouth, but no words came out.

Gen tilted her head. "I know what you're thinking."

Lee frowned. "No, you don't."

Gen smirked. "Oh, but I do. You're about to say something to avoid answering, but deep down, you don't mean it."

Lee clenched her jaw. "Stop guessing."

Gen laughed softly. "You know I'm right."

Lee turned away. "Let's just go. We still have more apartments to check."

Gen leaned back on the bed, smiling. "We're taking this one."

Lee sighed. "Fine."

Gen grinned. "See? You listen to me even when you pretend not to."

Lee shook her head, walking out of the room. "Annoying."

Gen followed, still smiling. "And yet, here we are."
