Chapter 36: First Dinner Date at Home

After a long day, Lee returned home, feeling tired but relieved. As she opened the door, she smelled something delicious.

She stepped inside and found Gen in the kitchen, actually keeping it clean this time.

Gen turned and grinned. "Welcome home, wifey."

Lee rolled her eyes. "Don't call me that."

Gen smirked. "Why not? It's true."

Lee ignored her and walked over to see what she was cooking.

On the stove, there was a pot of steaming soup, and the counter had neatly prepared side dishes.

Lee raised an eyebrow. "No disaster this time?"

Gen crossed her arms. "Excuse me, I am a professional chef. That mess this morning was just… excitement."

Lee smirked. "Right."

Gen pouted. "You wound me, babe."

Lee sat at the dining table, which they had finally bought that afternoon. "Hurry up. I'm hungry."

Gen set the food on the table. "Tada! Our first official home-cooked dinner as a married couple."

Lee picked up her chopsticks. "It smells good."

Gen sat across from her, watching as Lee took the first bite.

Lee chewed slowly, then nodded. "It's perfect."

Gen grinned. "Of course it is. I made it with love."

Lee ignored the comment and continued eating.

As they ate, Gen glanced at her. "So, tell me, how was your day?"

Lee shrugged. "Same as always. Went to work, dealt with patients, came home."

Gen rested her chin on her hand. "You're always so serious."

Lee sighed. "And you're always annoying."

Gen smirked. "That's why we balance each other out."

Lee shook her head. "I still don't know why I agreed to this marriage."

Gen grinned. "Because deep down, you can't resist me."

Lee scoffed. "In your dreams."

Gen chuckled. "Every night, babe."

Lee sighed but secretly enjoyed their playful banter.

A Quiet Moment

After dinner, they sat on the couch, watching a drama.

Lee sipped her tea, while Gen stretched beside her, resting her head on the back of the couch.

For a while, they sat in comfortable silence.

Then Gen spoke. "You know… this isn't so bad."

Lee glanced at her. "What isn't?"

Gen gestured around. "Living together. Eating together. Spending time like this."

Lee was quiet for a moment. Then she said, "Yeah… it's not bad."

Gen turned her head, grinning. "See? You're already falling for me."

Lee gave her a blank stare. "Go to sleep, Gen."

Gen laughed. "You didn't deny it."

Lee groaned, covering her face with a pillow.

Gen just smiled, feeling strangely happy.
