Chapter 1

While vacationing in Yellowstone, Darling and her first love insisted on feeding the hungry wolves.

I simply cautioned, "This behavior might attract more hungry wolves."

They accused me of being "heartless," "unsympathetic," and a "cold-blooded creature."

As a result, a large pack of hungry wolves actually gathered, circling our car and waiting to strike.

Darling's first love was also bitten by a wolf.

To escape the wolf pack, Darling shockingly kicked me out of the car door.

She shouted, "Levi's hurt and needs to get to the hospital! You be the bait to lure away the wolves, I'll come back for you later."

I watched the car drive away and the wolves eyeing me hungrily all around.

My heart instantly turned cold, but Darling forgot that I'm a first-rate Wolf Tamer.

The wolves surrounding me were no match for my skills.

As they lunged at me, I spread one hand wide while the other reached for the hunting knife at my waist.

My gaze was even fiercer than that of the wolves.

The pack was stunned by my demeanor, not daring to make a rash move. I mimicked their howl, my savage glare causing them to retreat one by one.

Having escaped this peril, I was left battered and bruised.

Yet I simply dialed a number: "Stone, come pick me up from the uninhabited zone in Hoh Rainforest."

"Also, tell Mr. Frost I've agreed to take the position here."

Even as a professional wolf trainer, unfamiliar packs still threw me off balance.

Blood flowed freely from wolf bites on my legs and arms.

When my assistant Stone brought me back to the lodge, I was deathly pale, drenched in cold sweat.

There wasn't an inch of me not covered in blood, my horrifying appearance causing a fellow tourist to scream in terror.

Before me, Crysta was anxiously tending to Levi's injured arm.

Noticing my commotion, she looked up, her expression momentarily blank before twisting into disgust.

"What are you cosplaying as now, a demon or the Grim Reaper?"

I staggered forward a few steps, my wounds tearing at my flesh, nearly causing me to collapse from the pain.

"Didn't you say you'd come pick me up?"My voice carried a cold edge, which Crysta noticed, her delicate brows furrowing even more.

"What's with your attitude? Didn't Stone pick you up? Aren't you standing here just fine now? What's the point of obsessing over whether I picked you up or not?"

Suddenly, it felt like a thorn had pierced my heart, gradually sinking deeper into my core.

Even now, Crysta still thought I was faking it.

Stone, standing nearby, couldn't take it anymore and shouted at her.

"Aunt, when I got there, Master was lying in a pool of blood, with a wolf right beside him!"

Crysta frowned, and Levi, who had been silent until now, spoke up.

"Crysta, don't worry about me. Go check on Fintan."

Upon hearing this, Crysta immediately looked at Levi with concern.

"Don't bother with him. He just loves to pretend."

The pain in my body intensified, becoming unbearable, and I coughed up a mouthful of blood.

It even landed on Levi's pristine white shirt.

Crysta froze for a second, then glared at me angrily.

"Fintan, are you sick in the head? Today isn't April Fool's Day, nor is it Halloween! Do you have to make such an embarrassing scene?"

I hunched over, looking at Crysta's enraged expression.

A chill spread through my entire body, leaving me so cold that I hugged myself tightly. It was Crysta who abandoned me. She never came back to pick me up.

If I hadn't been a tame wild horses trainer, I would have died today.

With blood rushing through my body and my vision blurring, I suddenly collapsed to the ground.

Before I fell, Crysta's face seemed very flustered.

She definitely wasn't worried about me, I thought weakly.

But in two weeks, I'll be leaving too.

It doesn't matter if she's worried or not anymore.
