Chapter 12: Breaking In – The Titan Industries Heist

The Plan

A holographic blueprint of a Titan Industries data fortress hovered in front of Kai and the team. The corporate stronghold was one of the most secure locations in the megacity, housing classified research, military-grade AI, and experimental cybernetics.

Cipher whistled. "Damn. That's not a building. That's a digital fortress."

Nova crossed his arms. "Breaking in is one thing. Getting out alive is another."

Zero smirked. "That's where I come in."

Kai leaned forward. "We need to get past multiple security checkpoints, biometric scans, and AI-patrolled corridors. Not to mention Titan's elite enforcers."

Cipher chuckled. "Oh yeah, speaking of that… you do know who runs security there, right?"

Kai narrowed his eyes. "Who?"

Cipher grinned. "Your girlfriend."

Nova groaned. "Oh, this is gonna be bad."

Zero raised an eyebrow. "Wait—girlfriend?"

Cipher smirked. "Not yet. But the Titan enforcer assigned to that base? Seraph. The one hunting Kai like he stole her favorite cyberdeck."

Kai sighed. "Of course it's her."

Zero crossed her arms. "Why does every powerful woman in this city want to kill you or kiss you?"

Cipher smirked. "Who says they have to choose?"

Infiltration – Into the Lion's Den

The team moved through the undercity tunnels, emerging near a maintenance shaft that led to Titan's data center. The neon skyline flickered above them as the heavily-armed complex loomed ahead.

Zero tapped her cyberdeck. "Alright, I've disabled security cameras for a ten-minute window. That's your opening."

Kai nodded. "Cipher, Nova, stay on comms. Zero and I will move in first."

Cipher grinned. "Don't get caught. Or do. I wanna see the fireworks."

Zero rolled her eyes. "Let's move."

Security Breach

Inside, the halls were eerily silent. Kai and Zero slipped through shadowed corridors, avoiding patrolling drones. Zero hacked a door panel, bypassing Titan's biometric scanners with a flick of her wrist.

Zero smirked. "Easy."

Kai raised an eyebrow. "You're enjoying this way too much."

Zero grinned. "Oh, absolutely."

They reached the server room, a massive chamber filled with glowing data cores.

Kai cracked his fingers. "Time to work."

He plugged into the system. The moment he did—

ALERT. UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS DETECTED.

Zero's eyes widened. "Wait—this was a trap!"

The doors slammed shut.

A cold, familiar voice echoed over the intercom.

"You just can't stay out of trouble, can you, Kai?"

Zero turned. "Who the hell—"

The doors opened.

Seraph stepped inside.

The Titan enforcer was clad in black armored exosuit plating, her cybernetic eyes glowing a deadly red. Her blade-like gauntlets hummed, charged with energy.

Kai sighed. "Well. This is awkward."

Seraph's gaze locked onto him. "You have ten seconds to explain why I shouldn't break every bone in your body."

Zero smirked. "Oh, I like her."

Kai muttered. "Not helping."

Seraph took a step forward. "Start talking. Now."
