"Good morning, babe, did you sleep well hope you feel better. With love from Lei Wei. Hearts emoji"
It was a text from him that woke me up the next day. Then I remembered he used to be that sweet before we got married.
The absolute love of my life.
I had allowed Lei to help me to my apartment the day before since I still needed to familiarize myself with everywhere.
My room looked the same as I could remember, the pink cozy room of a 20-year-old who had little or no worries at all.
The vibrant old me, who had finished her education way earlier than other girls of her age. Many of my mates envied me, having gotten a good job immediately after school.
My pink little table by the corner of my room, the one that held my books and laptop, the one Lei's mother had given to her daughter after my marriage to her sin, according to her, it was too childish for a married woman.
The different colorful sticky notes are on the wall.
And yes! I was a nerd....after my marriage, I barely had time for myself to talk more of books. I had gotten home one day after work and saw all my books in flame.
"It is taking too much space," his mother said, looking at me disgustingly, he had stood there, not saying a word and silently backing his mother's actions.
'Well, this new life, I'm determined to make the most of it, enjoy life more, have fun, go on vacations, and live my life to the fullest,' "Because why not??" I said aloud to myself, smiling.
As a young girl, I was able to access a lot of money due to my diligence and hard work,k, but I never really spent it on myself since I was always too busy worrying about helping Lei Wei build his company.
I invested all my money, time, and energy in that bum of a man.
—Well it is time to do better.
I quickly took my bath and started dressing up.
My wardrobe was a mess for someone who earned as much as I did, and this is what I wear just to help one ungrateful son of a bitch build his life.
Investing in our future as he would call it.
Once I receive my next paycheck, I'll make sure to change everything in my wardrobe.
I walked into the office looking bright and happy.
"Oh, thank goodness you are fine; you looked like you were dying yesterday."
The older woman whom I had seen yesterday upon opening my eyes said.
I had taken my time to go through different office magazines and all the informations on my laptop to familiarize myself with the people I'd meet today.
"Thank you so much, Mrs Chen. I was just stressed and I'm sorry for making you worry."
I replied smiling sweetly. I used to be such a happy young girl with little or no worries.
Then I saw him approaching my table...Lei!
'A part of me wanted to scream at him again, but no, I wouldn't just break up with him; I needed to exert revenge for all the pains and sorrows he had caused me. He needed to pay, alongside his mother.
Besides it doesn't look like he's going to let go of me easily.'
"Hi babe, you look okay now, I was so terrified of your behavior yesterday."
He said sweetly as he approached my table.
'How could I not have fallen for him? He sounded so loving and genuine, and if I had not seen the future,e, I wouldn't have thought in my wildest imagination that he would become the monster who maltreated me till death.'
"I'm fine now; I'm sorry I caused you to worry," I said, forcing a smile while every fiber in me reverberated with irritation.
"Oh, and I got you your favorite coffee; I told Meng of their health condition, and she said she would drop by later this morning."
'Zhang Hua Meng!
My best friend or so I thought.
—A friend, what the heck is wrong with me did I really just refer to her as a friend.'
She had the most innocent and loving look ever. I had always thought I was blessed to have her. She stood by me through thick and thin until the day I caught her pants down with Lei.
My best friend was sleeping with my husband while I was in the hospital fighting for my life.
I guess I'm just unlucky to have been surrounded by such callous and pretentious people.
'Now that I think of it, I was a dutiful wife to the core or maybe a stupid and dumb one. I saw my best friend sleeping with my husband on my matrimonial bed, well not like I had enjoyed the bed.
And walked out without a word of confrontation, bet you didn't see that coming.
I didn't confront them; if I did, Lei could have thrown my things out of the house. Besides, she was the only friend he had allowed into our home.
Alas! The only reason he had allowed her was because she was sleeping with him.'
I had to let go without uttering a word unless I was ready to die a lonely death.
Speak of the devil!
"Oh mine Mei, what happened? I was so worried,, and I had to rush down as soon as I got the chance."
"Are you okay?"
"I'm sorry for worrying you. I'm good now." I said smiling gently.
Then I looked at both of them; when exactly did they start sleeping with each other? Had it started yet?
Then I saw it, the silent glance they occasionally gave each other.
How was I so blind to it?
There and then an idea popped into my head.
The best revenge plan!
Since she wanted Lei so badly, why not find a way to make them get married to each other so she could take my fate and the suffering I went through?
