The others looked at Kael with mixed feelings. They didn't know what to feel as they watched him stand up straight.
Kael's combat suit didn't change much. What did change was the add-on. His stylish overcoat had turned into a great white cape with purple runic patterns and lines going from the shoulder to the end.
Kael stood up straight before he looked at his subordinates.
"What're you guys staring at?" Kael asked with a cheeky smile knowing perfectly well what and why they were looking at.
Kael turned in the direction of the town as his cape shifted back into an overcoat. Oris and Dren moved quickly to his side and then he started walking. The two ladies stared at them for a while before rushing to go join them. Vayra chose to be at the far right while Sariah went to the far left.
The captain and a few soldiers were seen at the edge of the town waiting to congratulate their safe return.
"Welcome back Master Kael. I take it the Dune Wyrms of that domain won't be a problem in a long time?" The captain asked.
"They won't be a problem ever again, I killed all of them and eliminated their queen." Kael stated nonchalantly.
The captain's jaw dropped. He was expecting good news but this was even better than what he expected. If what Kael claimed is true which it is, it means in one day, Kael eliminated a problem they'd been having for months.
Quickly regaining his composure, the captain redid some calculations in his head.
"I was not expecting a complete eradication of the entire Domain. I will have to rethink your reward. It might take a while." The captain said as he walked back into the town with everyone.
'This is amazing. If I can convince Master Kael to go on a few more of these expeditions. We'd be able to isolate the Dune Wyrms population down to their last Domain and use those for training new recruits.' The captain thought excitedly.
They reached the town in no time where Kael and his people were swarmed by the members at the Bastion's outer ring. Many people had seen the dazzling display of pure power and instinctively knew that it was Kael that caused it.
The Murion family were treated like celebraties by the members of shrouded hearts which was mainly because they built the faction from the ground up. The people within the shrouded hearts were eternally grateful to the Murions for a variety of reasons.
Kael being a Murion was already enough to put a smile on everyone's faces as they worked overtime tirelessly to satisfy him only for him to go and save the outpost from certain death.
The members were over the moon and offered to do whatever they could to help Kael and his crew which then placed more pressure on the captain to reward him handsomely than he was already going to.
Returning to the vanguard. Kael and his crew discussed a few more actions they were going to take. In the end a to do list was made and at the very top of the list was to get a better ship along with more crew members.
Kael went to his room where he checked out his logs to see if there had been any news from his mother and or sister. Since he only just got here he didn't find it odd that they had gone silent, the search efforts probably required more work than he had anticipated.
He lay down on his bed thinking about a few things. His crew's resources were meant to last them one month, travel time included, which meant if this didn't end quickly and he wasn't given the permission to leave, they would become a much bigger burden onto the outpost than they already were and that was something he was not going to let happen.
As Kael kept thinking over how weird the situation actually was he didn't realize when he fell asleep but he took his thoughts into his dreams.
Captain Vaylan sat in his office pondering on what he should give Master Kael. He was also overjoyed at the fact that they no longer had to worry about the Dune Wyrms.
The captain looked over past reports which highlighted an immense energy problem. The Dune Wyrms Domain had been made at the only land exit and entry of the outpost which meant in order to get to and from potential points of interest, his people had to use their ships.
The energy used by the ships were too much. The energy consumption was higher than expected because the ship's couldn't carry that many resources because that wasn't their main purpose in the first place. They were research and expedition vessels not cargo ships.
Thinking about all the good Kael had done for the outpost in one expedition and about the future prospects of the outpost he decided the rewards Kael would receive. After some time he held a meeting with all the heads of the different departments to discuss many things that would benefit the outpost and it was during this meeting that the captain realized how understaffed they truly were.
In an incredibly unwarranted turn of events they decided to ask for Kael's help with the problem of staffing. It wouldn't be much but it was better than nothing at least. This turn of events naturally lead to the discussion of Kael's rewards which now they couldn't even properly decide on.
The captain made a proposal to which his HODs accepted quickly with surprisingly not that much backlash, some even moved for a vote to add more rewards just so Kael can be more inclined to help them some more.
The whole meeting concluded and the outpost got to work immediately. They didn't know how long this opportunity would last for and they were going to gain every bit of it they could squeeze out.
