Kael woke up later that same day. He felt a little lightheaded but was still excited about going on another mission. His powers weren't at their full potential but the little he had discovered was enough to make him feel invincible.
Nullborne Manifestation is an Axionis category ability which allows the user to generate and manipulate an extra dimensional force known as Nullborne Matter, an intangible yet omnipresent energy that exists between dimensions.
Initially, Kael could only use this force to strengthen people but due to the actions of his mother, actions which some would consider rash and borderline irresponsible, he gained a new use for it.
Kael could fill his cells with Nullborne Matter which would place him in a perpetual state of shifting between dimensions. Being in this state makes him immune to all laws around him which meant he could achieve a lot of crazy stuff such as flight and phasing through objects but each one of these actions require more Nullborne Matter to utilize.
Kael's body acts as a Nullborne collector, passively collecting Nullborne Matter with every natural action such as breathing, sleeping or just any resting action.
Kael was not a strong person naturally which was why his mother after spending six years to hone his power decided to isolate him for two months in order to train him on how to use it properly. During the two months of training, three things were discovered about the Axionis trait.
Firstly, it was inherently a Domain type Axionis trait which meant every single action on his part would affect a large area around him. The reason this wasn't discovered until the last two months was because his mother was always pushing him to do extravagant things to see the limit of his power and now that actual training began, they realized he couldn't help it anyway.
Second his subjects that he blesses with Nullborne Matter aren't just boosted in physical power. After six years of none stop limit breaking and resource investment. His subordinates begun to unlock some of his skills. Once unlocked, everything else was up to them.
Then thirdly, Nullborne Matter, although naturally intangible could be shaped and made tangible by Kael. This may seemed like a needless task at first until Kael's mother started experimenting with it and what they discovered was beyond shocking. Kael could create Nullborne structures, the downside was he needed to pack a lot of Nullborne Matter into a tight space in order to make an actually solid, physical structure. The stronger the structure he wanted, the more focus was required.
Kael had used every single one of these characteristics to his advantage when he decided to clear out the Dune Wyrms Domain outside Duskwatch. He had used the second characteristic to boost the power of his bodyguards while temporarily removing the downsides of their Idiospecs. He quit literally broke their power limits for a certain period of time.
He then used the third characteristic to walk in the air and kill a few tens of Dune Wyrms by swiping his hands around.
Then finally he used the first and third characteristics simultaneously to end everything with a bang. As always, Kael had to style of his people at the end of it all.
Thinking back to everything that happened during the short hunting expedition, Kael smiled lightly as he got up from his bed and walked out of his room. He had not taken that long of a nap.
He walked to the bridge where he saw captain Vaylan's assistant, Renna Althier, speaking to his crew's representative. Kael raised an eyebrow as he walked over to his crew's representative who was smiling nervously with a lot of excitement in his eyes.
"Master Kael, it's nice to see you finally returned from Captain's quarters. Mrs. Althier here has come to inform us of an amazing opportunity for the crew." The representative said. He was truly hoping that Kael would accept this proposal.
"Good day Master Kael, on behalf of the entire council of Duskwatch we would like to temporarily recruit your people into our ranks. They will still belong to you but Duskwatch needs extra manpower for a very important task at hand and your people are the only ones currently available with the unique set of skills required for the task." Renna stated in a monotone voice.
Her personality since Kael saw her not long ago has always been too formal and straightforward. Almost like a robot. Her beautiful black hair which had been tied in a bun behind her head looked to be showcasing her pure face and smooth skin to the entire world.
Kael looked at his representative, then looked at the hopeful faces of his subordinates that were trying their very best to look busy so their eavesdropping wouldn't be obvious and sighed.
"Fine, for as long as this project or task or whatever of yours isn't dangerous to my people, you can have them temporarily." Kael said as he turned in the direction of his room.
"I was also instructed to bring you back to the tower Master Kael." Renna stated
"Yeah whatever, tell them I am resting." Kael said.
"It's about your reward master Kael." Renna stated.
"I'll get it when I come outside." Kael replied
"There might be another urgent mission for you." Renna stated.
Kael stopped in his tracks and turned back around.
"Is it going to be as boring as the last one?" Kael asked.
He had initially been excited about the prospect of hunting again but soon the actual details of the last hunt became clearer in his head and he had decided to just go to sleep.
"Well, we are not that sure exactly because this is going to be a chain mission. Unlike the first one, you will not return after the hunt, you will have to hunt even more." Renna stated.
Kael's interest was piqued but his excitement mild. 'This ought to be good.' He thought as he began waking towards the exit of the ship.
"Fine, let's go to the Titan Spire."
