What went wrong

The whole plan begun to fail the moment he killed the first member of Kael's subordinates.

He was supposed to keep them working until all eleven communication networks were set up. Ten with his members and eleventh with the unknown source that fed him his information.

But he had gotten impatient especially after seeing how good Murion's forces were at doing their job. He was impatient, made a stupid decision and ended up killing someone.

He wasn't even supposed to hold that slave meeting in the first place, everything could have been done in two days at most but he wanted to scare them into working faster.

He killed one of their members which not only alerted Kael to their death but also guaranteed that they would no longer work for him which was the opposite of what he was trying to achieve.

The opposite of how the entire plan was supposed to go in the first place. Then came two decisions he would grow to regret even an entire week later.

He sent his sister outside thinking he was protecting her innocence by keeping her away from death. Despite being a highly skilled and trained assassin, he decided it was better to keep her from death which led to her confrontation with Kael, one that ended with her death rather than her witnessing death.

The second being, he took note of Kael's support prowess. The group of 5000 arrived shortly after, using the communication network on their ship, he reported to the boss who informed him to keep Murion alive.

It was only a few hours after the order was given was he informed of the collapsed building. Upon further investigation, he found the mangled remains of his sister's body. He was consumed with rage but the lives of his and his people were now in the hands of these people, he couldn't disobey their orders.

He decided to break Kael mentally when he awoken as his only forme of revenge for his sister's death. He truly hated himself for sending his sister outside, he lost the only true family he had left.

The situation continued to get worse from there. Feeling incredibly guilty, he decided to inform his people, the shrouded hearts members of his actions which he was expecting to be hated for but something even worse happened.

His people became suicidal as they launched an assault on the outpost to try and rescue Kael, this made him hate Kael and himself even more. Realizing he still had something to lose, he had intervened and managed to prevent any deaths of his people but where that ended him was bad.

His relationship with the 5000 had soured and he had been kicked out of his position as the captain of the outpost as another took his place. His ability was mainly defensive, unless he had a way to restrain 5000 people, he would be overwhelmed quickly. Luckily he still kept his seat as a council member which meant he could take part in the decision making process of the outpost which had expanded rapidly.

All resource gathering missions and operations were put on hold as the group of 1000 shrouded hearts members had set up camp right outside the Ebonridge flats and their plans were unknown to them which meant if they didn't get rid of them, they couldn't proceed.

Vaylan had realized during the events of the past week that the group of 5000 had no intention of keeping his people alive, he knew he had messed up greatly but there was nothing he could do about it without worsening the situation for his people.

He also knew his people wouldn't accept him back with everything he had done, this made him subconsciously start rooting for Kael. Part of the reason he was trying to break him mentally was to insite an intense hatred.

If what he knows about the Murions are correct, their hate stemmed deep and it ran in the bloodline that once a Murion no matter how old hated someone, a demon would awaken.

Something within their DNA. If you managed to make a Murion hate you, you were as good as dead. It was all just an old rumor that every shrouded hearts member took to heart.

Although just a rumor, it was a way of teaching them never to mess with a Murion, but now, Vaylan was trying to exploit this rumor, if true, he could rectifier his mistakes.

Oris and Dren woke up at the same time in the same place. They found themselves in a tent, one that looks like it came from the hasty outposts they had been in. Oris was the first to look around as he spotted Dren by his side, catching each other up on the situation they realized that they had no idea what happened past when they collapsed.

They decided to step out of the tent where they were met with excitement and worry. The whole makeshift camp was overjoyed at their awakening, they needed all the help they can get, and what better help than that of Paragons.

Paragon was a word used to describe the awakened. It's a general term used when you don't know a person's category and power level.

Oris and Dren were quickly directed to the organizers of the campaign, Cairn and Renna. In the entire Duskwatch Bastion, there were only three awakened. Vaylan Duskbane, Cairn voss and Renna Althier.

Vaylan had an Idiospec category ability named Dominion Bulwark which allowed him to create invisible defensive barriers which he could shape as he wished.

Cairn voss had an Idiospec category ability which he stated was too complicated to explain and could only be witnessed called Spectral Overwatch.

And Renna had a support class, Idiospec category ability that she couldn't explain properly no matter how hard she tried. It basically allowed her to know everything happening within a certain area of her choice and setting. It was called Omniscient Veil.

She currently had this Veil covering the entirety of the Ebonridge flats. She knew everything happening within.
