Escape plan

Another week had passed without too much issue. Vaylan's plan had worked, somewhat. Kael had built up a deep seeded hatred for Vaylan and everyone associated with him which naturally included the 5000 members of the foreign faction but Vaylan had yet to see any real action be taken.

Vaylan walked down the stairs and through a dark corridor as he approached a large metallic room at the end of the corridor. He came with five people from the faction. He opened the door as a reeking stench hit all six of them at once.

"I gotta start bringing a mask to these visits." Vaylan said chuckling to himself.

He walked with the five members to Kael's half of the room. He always hated this part of his day but he had to do it 20 times a day. It had to be him because last time he didn't accompany them, Kael almost caused someone to explode with how much power he flushed into the person's body, so much so that the person is still recovering.

He opened the door as the blood almost escaped the cell only to be held in place by a barrier of his as he led the five inside. He unchained one of Murion's arms and directed them to him.

"You know what to do." He said in a cold, distant voice.

Kael was weak, disheveled and malnourished. He was barely fed, slept only four hours a day and had regular hourly visits for 20 hours a day. Each day he had to grant his power to a hundred people and this routine had been going on for a week.

The only reason he was alive was to keep feeding them more power and there was nothing he could do about it, at least that's what everyone from the faction thought.

Kael had made a plan long after he woke up. He had been left to his thoughts as Vaylan's words lingered in his mind. He looked at each of the 100 sacks as his heart tightened.

It was supposed to be his job to protect them and he failed miserably at it. This broke him to the core because he had approved for his people to work at the tower in the first place. If only he hadn't done so, if only he realized that everything was a trap sooner.

Kael begun the week feeling defeated but after the first day of working for these people, he came to the conclusion that they were not human beings. The way they treated each other was far from good, the only reason they worked together was because of common goals that they couldn't complete on their, this was made clearly evident in their multiple fights in front of Vaylan and Kael more than once.

Then, there was Vaylan himself, someone who was willing to sacrifice his dear sister for money. Slowly he began to dislike them and by the third day, he snapped. He hated these people to the core and had even tried to kill one by overloading her when she tried to get intimate with him.

He hated the very existence of these people. That's when his mind started working automatically. A plan formulated in his mind, a unique plan. He was going to do exactly what the enemies wanted. Keep feeding more people with power, but, he was also going to start collecting what he was owed.

Every night they go to sleep, everytime they take a nap, if they're knocked unconscious, he would gain power, Nullborne Matter.

Something within him took over. Before he even knew he could, he started sensing a faint connection between everyone he had granted power, as the numbers grew higher, the deeper his understanding of his own ability became as he realized he had unlocked a lot of things he couldn't do before.

Like a blockage had been lifted off his powers but he didn't act rash. He stayed down quietly, following every order that was given to him.

Just like that, he had finished his 700th blessing as his arm was locked back in place and he slumped down, closing his eyes.

"Oy, this isn't your time to rest." Vaylan said coldly.

"Open your eyes damnit." Vaylan said annoyed as he slapped Kael across the face.

Suddenly, blood flowed through the open door to the cell, past the open door to the entire room and spilled a little into the corridors.

Captain Vaylan looked at his hand as he felt that something had locked his power. He looked at Kael who's eyes were opened and could see how badly he was holding back as his eyes glowed blue.

Vaylan blinked a few times as he returned back to his senses. Kael was still slumped with his eyes closed. He tested his power only to see that it was never locked away.

The blood had never spilt over, it was all in his head. Vaylan stared at Kael for a while before turning around.

"Let's move." He said to the five as the followed him out.

'I see, he isn't going docile as I thought, he's planning something but his upbringing makes it increasingly hard for him to hold back. If I want to see his plan succeed I shouldn't mess with him for a while.' Vaylan thought to himself as he walked up the stairs with his people.

He walked out of the Titan Spire but before he could make it far, he received a summons to the tactical planning chamber. He quickly turned around and entered the Titan Spire with his next destination being the meeting room on the third floor to discuss how they were going to deal with the encampment.

"I think we need our people at the elite rang as much as possible, we shouldn't just give him time between hours to rest. We should be milking him for everything he has." Was the first thing he heard when he entered the chamber.

After a few hours of discussion, his hours were upped because his power could help greatly in dealing with the shrouded heart members. Those members were nothing like Kael's subordinates, they were seasoned combatants who can do not much but fight.

Vaylan supported the idea on the basis that in improved his torture when in reality, it boosted his power.
