Chapter 42: Arrival 1
Mina and Fiona finally arrived at the venue, the DEx villa is known as one of the most famous if not most famous place where parties are held, from famous people to celebrities they've all graced this place even Fiona's elder sister tiana had celebrated her 18th birthday here aswell. Fiona honestly wondered where did Jian or her friends get the money to rent a place like this, did they book just a particular section that would be cheaper or did they book the whole place because when they walked into the lobby they couldn't find a single person there except the receptionist who was giving them a signature polite smile as they walked towards her. Was her, that guy best friend rich, if he was rich enough she'll have known or was it that chole friend of hers, she hasn't been in the town for a long time so maybe she did miss a few things
"Hello" mina greeted the woman at the desk, offering a smile
"How can I help you" the woman asked as she low-key checked out their fashion
"We're here for the surprise party" mina said pulling out her phone to show her card, fiona did thesame
"One minute please" the woman said as she got up and walked towards the phone, she wasn't doubting the two gorgeous ladies but she had to confirm, the DEx had seen pretty incase things happen in the past about how people try to infiltrate a program
"Names please" she asked
"Mina and Fiona" mina answered when she noticed Fiona was still lost in thought
"Hey" she whispered tapping Fiona on the shoulder, this brought the girl back to earth as she looked at mina confused
"What are you thinking about" mina asked chuckling
"Oh nothing" fiona waved it off, chuckling aswell. The lady who was on the phone finally finished her call and walked towards the girls
"Franklin" she called out to someone soon a boy of maybe 12 or so years walked out from the back
"Yes" he answered
"Take these guests to Section B" she said and the boy nodded before leading the way. Mina thanked her as they walked away, so they didn't rent the whole place if the boy was taking them to section B that meant they rented a certain part. If they had rented the whole place they would have been taken to the 'spartan hall' and gotten a proper escort the spartan hall was where tiana's birthday was held when her parents had booked the whole place. Fiona really liked the DEx villa, the place was really luxurious and beautiful by that time she didn't explore the place because one she was only 14 and she was still dealing with all that happened so she wasn't allowed to just roam on her own like that but today she'll take her time and check out the place if possible. She smiled remembering the birthday party even though she was still not okay back then that was one of her most core memories just watching everyone be happy and excited and watch her sister beat depression at that time while she was slowly letting go of the trauma.
"When did Jian and her friends get rich" mina commented as they walked, jian smirked that was the difference between her and Mina, for Fiona she thinks silently and keeps things to herself well if your the daughter of a very rich and influencial couple you'll have to watch yourself, she had always told Mina in life you can't just be impulsive and that mina was. Mina doesn't think silently, she's very impulsive and just says things then comes to regret it later. What she just said if any of jian or her friends heard it, they'll definitely be offended even if mina doesn't mean it like that
"It's not that expensive" Fiona said and mina nodded, one reason why mina never got and probably wouldn't get Seth is because of her impulsive behavior
"Here" the boy said pointing at the room at the end of the hallway
"Thank you" Fiona nodded and before they would walk away the boy shyly and sheepishly called out to them
"Um i-" he stammered making mina and Fiona halt
"Yes?" Mina asked wondering what the guy was so flustered about
"Your so pretty" he complimented and mina couldn't help blush, that was the first compliment apart from her mother's that she didn't have to share with fiona, she was about to thank the boy when she heard fiona chuckle
"Thank you" the boy bowed with a big smile
"Your so cute" Fiona couldn't help but gush with an enduring smile. The situation reminding her of when she used to follow her mom's friend, she had insisted that the guy would marry her, he was like twice her age
"Bye" the boy said running away with his whole face read.
It took everything in mina not to show her true emotions on her face, infact she only smiled when Fiona turned to her giggling after about what happened, she couldn't believe it. Fiona was always hoarding the light meant for her, it was crazy to her. After that she just walked ahead when they reached the door, they could hear faint music playing from inside so mina knocked and waited when she heard someone yelled they were coming and to both the girls outside and the one that opened the door had the shock of their lives especially Ann and Fiona, for mina she was just surprised
"Ann"
" Fiona" both girls yelled each other's name before just burst out laughing, what were the odds and what was Ann even doing here and for Ann she was thinking the same thing aswell, what was Fiona doing there
"Oh hey mina" Ann greeted after her surprise died down
"Oh hello" mina greeted back the two shared a polite smile before mina walked in, she sighed even her best friend has a best friend. For Ann she dragged fiona and they ran out laughing
"Gurl what are you doing here" Fiona asked
"The guy i told you i liked, it's her best friendi birthday party" Ann explained and it took Fiona's fast brain a while to connect the dots
"Wait a minute" she murmured to herself coming to the realization
"Ethan" she yelled and Ann immediately covered her mouth scared someone would hear her
"Wait, how do you know" she asked
"He's the be best friend of the girl trying to steal Seth" fiona said, she needed to take a seat before she'll fall from the shock so she immediately sat down on the hallway bench and Ann joined in
"Jian" Ann whisper yelled and fiona frantically nodded
"Wait so i was trying to get your crush together with her best friend so i could get seth" Fiona asked and Ann nodded
"Omg, I'm sorry" Fiona said hugging Ann but the girl just laughed and Fiona dropped her acting laughing too, the whole situation was funny to them
"I'll stop okay, you can go get your man" Fiona cheered but Ann didn't have a happy expression on, that was because she didn't think she'll have a chance it Ethan anytime soon, he was still dead hungover on his feeling for jian and if she could help her friend in anyway by getting ethan and jia together so Fiona could get Seth she could that way she'll be making two people happy at least
"Oh no, you go get your seth" Ann said instead and she noticed fiona didn't have a cheerful expression aswell,
"I got rejected not directly but i got the message that he was trying to send" Fiona said Ann turned facing her friend and fiona knew she wanted details she explained everything to her, Ann did know about Fiona's condition but she didn't know the full details and she never pressed on because revisiting a traumatic memory wasn't fun one bit she could relate she ended up explaining the whole situation with ethan aswell and the two ladies couldn't help but sigh
"What a shitty love life we have" Fiona commented and Ann nodded that was indeed true after catching up for a while they walked back into the room
"Girls" Ann called getting the attention if the people in the room who were hovering around mina,
"This is my best friend Fiona" she introduced
"This is ch-" before she could finish her sentence Fiona cut her off
"Oh i know" she said chuckling when she saw the look on Ann's face
"Oh hey girl" chole greeted and the two shared a hug
"This is juliet and Rita" Ann said
"I recognize you" juliet said squirting her eyes as if she would remember better
"On TV" Rita added
"The commercial, the kids fruity" Juliet remembered excited
"Oh that was long ago" Fiona said surprised that they even remember that she did that commercial when she was 6 just before that crazy woman came into her life
"My brother loves it" Juliet said and just like that the girls were best friend and mina's dress that they were gushing over was forgotten and mina took that personal. She excused herself to use the restroom and left, she wasn't going to the restroom though, she was making a call to meet up.
