Sun Moju smiled sinisterly as the man charged at him at high speed. However, for Sun Moju, the attack was too slow. With one light movement, he dodged to the side and kicked the man's stomach, sending him flying several meters away.
"Aghh!" the man groaned in pain, while his two companions stared at Sun Moju with angry expressions.
"How dare you touch us?!" one of them shouted and immediately drew his sword.
Sun Moju remained calm. He stared at them with contempt. "Why? Don't you like being bullied? Weren't you the ones who bullied that woman?"
The second man shouted angrily and jumped with his sword, trying to slash Sun Moju. However, with one swift movement, Sun Moju caught his wrist and twisted it backwards. A cracking sound was clearly heard.
"Aaarrgghh!" the man screamed in pain.
Seeing his companions defeated so easily, the last remaining man tried to escape. However, before he could turn around, Sun Moju had already appeared in front of him using teleportation.
"Y-You... who are you?" the man stuttered in fear.
Sun Moju brought his face closer and smiled coldly. "Me? I'm just the lowly man you mentioned earlier."
Without wasting any time, Sun Moju punched him until he fell unconscious. After that, he turned to the woman he had saved.
"Are you okay?" he asked in a calm voice.
The woman, who was previously frightened, now looked at Sun Moju with admiration. "T-Thank you... I don't know how to repay you."
Sun Moju only smiled faintly. "No need to repay. I just don't like seeing the weak being bullied."
However, before he could leave, the woman grabbed the corner of his sleeve. "Wait... what's your name?"
Sun Moju paused for a moment. He couldn't say his real name because it would attract unwanted attention. So, he decided to use a pseudonym.
"Shen Luo," he answered simply.
The woman nodded slowly, apparently remembering the name. "I'm Qin Wei. Thank you again, Shen Luo."
Qin Wei looked at Sun Moju—or Shen Luo, as he introduced himself—with curiosity. After witnessing how easily the man had defeated his bullies, he had a feeling that this man was no ordinary person.
"Shen Luo," Qin Wei called out, trying to confirm his name. "What exactly are you doing here?"
Sun Moju glanced at him briefly before replying in a casual tone, "I'm looking for ingredients to make a Tier 4 Spiritual Pill."
Qin Wei was taken aback. "A Tier 4 Spiritual Pill? That's no ordinary pill! Only high-level alchemists are capable of concocting it."
Sun Moju smiled faintly. "Indeed. That's why I have to look for rare ingredients."
Qin Wei thought for a moment, then said, "I happen to frequent this market. I might be able to help you find the ingredients you need."
Sun Moju looked at him, a little surprised by his offer. "Why do you want to help me?"
Qin Wei smiled faintly. "You saved me from those bastards. At least this is my small way of returning the favor."
Sun Moju shrugged. "Alright, let's start looking."
The two of them walked through the black market filled with merchants and cultivators from all over the place. The scent of rare herbs mixed with the scent of incense, while in the distance the sound of noisy bargaining could be heard.
Qin Wei brought Sun Moju to various shops selling alchemy ingredients. However, the ingredients he was looking for were still nowhere to be found. Some shops only sold low-grade ingredients, while the larger shops charged exorbitant prices.
"We still haven't found them all," Qin Wei said with a slightly disappointed tone after leaving the tenth shop.
Sun Moju remained calm. "It's fine. If it's not here, we'll look elsewhere."
Qin Wei looked at him in surprise. "You're really not in a hurry, are you?"
Sun Moju smiled faintly. "Being in a hurry won't help me. Besides, I'm sure the ingredients I'm looking for are definitely here."
Qin Wei paused for a moment, then smiled. "Alright, I know one last place. Maybe they have something you're looking for."
Sun Moju nodded, then followed Qin Wei into a shop that seemed quieter than the previous ones. However, as soon as they entered, a mysterious aura was immediately felt within.
"Welcome," an old man's voice echoed from within.
Sun Moju and Qin Wei looked at the shopkeeper—an old man with a long beard and sharp eyes.
"It looks like you're looking for something special," he said with a knowing smile.
After searching through several shops, Sun Moju finally managed to get all the ingredients he needed to make a Grade 4 Spiritual Pill. Qin Wei, who was accompanying Sun Moju, looked exhausted, but he still smiled in satisfaction.
"You finally got everything," Qin Wei said with a slightly out of breath.
Sun Moju nodded. "Thank you for accompanying me. By the way, where do you live? I'll take you home."
Hearing that question, Qin Wei's expression turned slightly gloomy. "I don't have a place to live. I live alone and I wander around the shops every day looking for work."
Sun Moju stared at him silently for a few seconds, then in a calm voice, he said, "Then, come live with me in my palace."
Qin Wei was surprised. "What? Palace? Are you a king?"
Sun Moju smiled slightly. "It seems like I have to reveal my true self."
He looked at Qin Wei with a serious gaze. "Actually, my name is not Shen Luo. I am the Demon King, Sun Moju."
Qin Wei took a step back with wide eyes. "Demon King…?"
"Yes," Sun Moju nodded. "But don't worry, I won't hurt you."
However, unbeknownst to them, one of the cultivators inside the shop overheard their conversation. The man's eyes widened in fear before turning into hatred.
"The Demon King has descended to the mortal world?!" the man whispered in a tense voice. He immediately rushed out of the shop and called out to the other cultivators.
A few moments later, hundreds of cultivators had gathered around Sun Moju and Qin Wei. Some of them were sect disciples, while others were demon hunters who had come from various places.
Just as Sun Moju was preparing to carry Qin Wei away, a man's voice echoed through the crowd.
"Don't run, Demon King! Today is the end of your life!"
Sun Moju sighed, then slowly turned his head towards the crowd of cultivators. His golden eyes shone sharply, staring at them with complete calmness.
"It looks like the journey back will be delayed a bit…" he said in a low voice.
Qin Wei gripped Sun Moju's arm anxiously. "What are you going to do?"
Sun Moju grinned. "Of course... I'll teach them a lesson."
Those cultivators immediately charged towards him, wielding their swords and techniques.
Sun Moju just smiled coldly.
"Interesting..."
