Chapter 3: The Hunt Begins

Chapter 3: The Hunt Begins

The morning after Ye Tian's encounter with Su Qingyue, the world seemed to pulse with an unfamiliar energy. Ye Tian stood at the edge of his penthouse, looking out over the sprawling city beneath him. It was strange—everything looked the same, but it was all so different. The streets, the faces, the atmosphere—he now saw them all through the eyes of someone who had transcended his past.

His body hummed with power, the deep currents of immortal energy flowing through him, but his heart was set on one thing: revenge.

Xiang Wei, Su Qingyue's lover and the man who had always ridiculed him, was still alive, still enjoying his privileged life. Ye Tian would make sure that would end soon.

He turned from the window, his gaze hardening as he faced the task ahead. His past self had been weak, gullible. He had tolerated the humiliation, but that man was gone now. This time, Ye Tian would show the world that he was no longer powerless.

His goal wasn't just power—it was to crush every single person who dared to mock him, and it would start with Xiang Wei.

---

Hours later, Ye Tian stood in front of a sleek, modern office building, the headquarters of Xiang Wei's family corporation. He knew where to find his target. In this life, information was readily available. His former self had been a fool for not using the resources at his disposal, but now, with the knowledge of an immortal, everything had changed. Xiang Wei's family had their hands in numerous businesses, from tech to entertainment, and Ye Tian was about to disrupt it all.

Walking past the heavily guarded entrance, Ye Tian could feel the undercurrents of energy in the building. The elite employees, the young masters of powerful families, all basked in their wealth and comfort. To them, Ye Tian was a ghost—a forgotten memory—but soon they would all know the truth.

Ye Tian wasn't here to play games.

As he entered the lobby, a few employees glanced at him, but none gave him more than a passing thought. After all, he was just another face among the crowd. But as he walked deeper into the building, his aura began to seep out, an undeniable pressure that made even the bravest of people falter.

The receptionist, a young woman, looked up from her desk, her eyes widening as she felt the change in the air. "How may I help you?" she asked, voice shaking slightly.

Ye Tian gave a small, calculating smile. "I'm here to see Xiang Wei."

The receptionist's face turned pale. "Xiang Wei? I… I'm sorry, sir, but he's in an important meeting right now. I'm afraid I can't—"

"I'll make sure he knows I'm here," Ye Tian interrupted, his voice calm but carrying the weight of unspoken authority.

---

Up on the top floor, Xiang Wei sat at his desk, dressed in his expensive suit, exuding the confidence of a man who had always been on top. He was going over the latest business reports when his assistant rushed into the room, her face pale with fear.

"Young Master Wei, there's a man downstairs demanding to see you. He says his name is Ye Tian." Her voice trembled, and for a moment, she couldn't meet his eyes.

Xiang Wei paused, his pen hovering over the paper. The name sounded vaguely familiar, but he couldn't place it. It had been years since he'd seen Ye Tian, the weak boy who had once been married to Su Qingyue—someone who didn't even belong in their world.

"Ye Tian?" he scoffed. "What does he want? He was pathetic back then. Just a poor, useless fool. Let him waste his time."

His assistant hesitated but then spoke again. "It's not that simple, Young Master. He… he's different now. The pressure around him—it's... it's overwhelming."

Xiang Wei raised an eyebrow. Different? He stood up slowly, his fingers curling into a fist. "Fine, let him up. I'll deal with him. If he thinks he can just walk in here and threaten me…"

---

A few minutes later, Ye Tian stood before the doors to Xiang Wei's office. His presence was enough to make the entire building feel like it was shaking. The receptionist and security guards had all been rendered speechless by the overwhelming pressure radiating from him, and none dared stop him as he made his way up.

When the elevator doors opened on the top floor, Ye Tian stepped into the lavish office, his expression cold and implacable. The moment Xiang Wei saw him, his confident smirk faltered.

Ye Tian stood there, the very embodiment of power. No longer the weak, useless boy, he was a force that even the great Xiang Wei couldn't ignore.

"Xiang Wei," Ye Tian said, his voice calm but laden with power. "It's been a long time."

Xiang Wei froze, his eyes narrowing in confusion and unease. "Ye Tian... What do you want?"

Ye Tian's lips curled into a smile, though it was far from friendly. "You're still as arrogant as I remember. But don't worry, that arrogance will be your downfall."

Xiang Wei scoffed, trying to maintain his composure, but the sweat on his brow betrayed his growing nervousness. "You think you can just come here and threaten me? I've built an empire! No one—NO ONE—can touch me!"

"Oh, I don't plan to touch you, Xiang Wei," Ye Tian said, his tone icy and filled with a quiet menace. "I plan to destroy everything you've built."

Xiang Wei stood up, trying to gather his courage. "You're nothing! Just a failure who got lucky in his next life! I'll have you thrown out of here—do you think you can scare me? I'm untouchable!"

But Ye Tian's smile only grew colder. "Let's test that, shall we?"

With a single wave of his hand, Ye Tian's immortal energy surged, and the glass windows around the office shattered, sending shards flying. The entire building shook as if a quake had just hit. The walls reverberated with the intensity of Ye Tian's power.

Xiang Wei stumbled back, wide-eyed, his arrogance completely shattered.
