Chapter 5-Carla Aurora

Suddenly, there was a tense silence.

"Oh, is that really you? Are you my father? I'm Carla! Carla Aurora! You married a woman named Orla Aurora while serving in Russ-King to eradicate mutants. Then Mom said you went to war in another country and never came back! Why did you leave us when you could have visited!" the girl shouted, which stunned Blue.

Red looked at her twin brother intently and then approached.

"I know Orla Aurora. But I didn't marry her. Honestly, she came into my dreams today," said Blue, which stunned everyone in the room.

"Tell me what she wants, Blue. She must want the perks of your position," asked General Cosmo, but his words made Red glance at him sharply. "What? All the women who live hard lives out there, take advantage of the luxuries that great men like Blue have!" he replied firmly.

"Blue, you have to make sure," said Red, who chose not to comment on the General's words.

"Where's Orla?" asked Blue, who could imagine that he was squatting in front of the girl, although his figure was not clearly visible due to the visual imagery that was blocked by the ruins of the building.

"That's why I contacted you. I have a special ability, and I've been hiding it because my mother asked me to. Mom and I were separated during the attack on Cryzen City. Mom was captured and taken to Moron city," she replied quickly and sounded panicked.

Blue and Red locked eyes with each other. The general looked at the two twins intently.

"Your skills must have rubbed off on the girl. It's a disaster," he said, looking annoyed. "That's the reason I don't want to get married and have children! Look at what's happening now!" he shouted angrily as he approached the screen that showed a visual of Carla Aurora.

"It's because of your narrow-mindedness that Earth is experiencing a human population crisis," Red muttered, her words overheard by the general. However, Red looked indifferent as she stared intently at the white-haired man.

"What's your special ability?" asked Blue seriously.

"I can camouflage like a chameleon. That's why I managed to survive until now. However, the people who kidnapped Mom have advanced technology that can track my whereabouts. I was hunted because I wanted to be dissected. Morons want this power of mine that I never wanted!" she replied, ending with a cry.

Blue gasped, as did Cosmo, Red, and Beta. Those who knew that Blue had the privilege of being long-lived and the special ability of his blue eyes made Carla's words sound true and not made up. Moreover, Blue did know the figure of Orla Aurora.

"How did you find me?" asked Blue suspiciously.

"I've been looking for you for three months. I got a satellite phone with a code to call the base where you were because there was a man who took pity on me. However, he died trying to help me. You owe the Tosca Embryo your life, Blue," replied the little girl named Carla, who had been able to suppress her tears.

"Tosca Embryo? The embryo that guards the border between the Star Nation and Cryzen? Yes, I heard that he did die in the line of duty, but the cause of death is unknown," Beta informed.

"It's obvious this is a trap. You should understand that, Blue," the general said. Blue looked at Red sharply, and her red-eyed sister shook her head in disagreement. "I know what these eyes mean! It's up to you. But if you die, I refuse to call you a hero for this stupid decision! Besides, I won't let you use all the facilities and weapons in the base to get to that place!" said the general, who then left the control center angrily.

"He won't understand. You'd better ..."

"AAAA!" Carla suddenly shouted, making Red stop her speech.

The eyes of the three adults were immediately drawn to Carla, who was moving quickly away from her location. The phone call was still connected. The little girl's breathing was clearly audible. Blue, who was panicking, tried to save her.

"Carla! Carla! Meet me at Great Mazepita!" exclaimed Blue, who could hear the sound of the little girl's panic and screams as she ran from the thing chasing her.

"Why isn't GIGA catching anything?" asked Beta, confused, as he tried to find the thing chasing Carla.

"Oh, could it be?" asked Red, assuming.

"It must be a camouflage drone from Moron City! They've developed a stealth technology that's used as a spy device and can't be tracked by satellites. However, if Carla can figure out the whereabouts of that thing, that means she does have special abilities like us, Red!" said Blue, which made Red's breath catch. "Carla! Great Mazepita! Meet me there immediately! Carla!" called Blue, who had never felt this kind of panic before.

"I hear you! Great Mazepita! Great Mazepita!" replied Carla, who then disconnected the call.

Instantly, Carla's figure on the GIGA satellite capture screen disappeared. However, shortly after, the drone suspected by Red was caught by the GIGA satellite. Red, Blue, and Beta's eyes widened as they realized that what Carla had said was true. The girl was able to camouflage and hide well.

"I don't know what foul plan the moron leader wants, Blue. However, your enemy is not an ordinary person. I'm with you," said Red, who got a sharp look from Blue in return.

"No," Blue replied firmly, which made Red immediately squint. "You have to stay here. New US needs you. I'll be fine. Don't worry," he added reassuringly, but he made his sister look away.

"I'll watch him from here, Red. Blue is connected to GIGA. The Theresia satellite created by your ancestors is unquestionably sophisticated despite centuries of duty in space," Beta said, which Blue nodded at because it was true.

"We'll stay connected, you know how," Blue said. The red-haired woman finally nodded in agreement.

"One more problem. General Cosmo. You have to get his permission," Red said, making Blue take a deep breath.

The dining hall of the New-US headquarters.

Red accompanied Blue to see General Cosmo, who was enjoying his breakfast in the dining hall with the soldiers. Apparently, word of Blue wanting to leave had spread in the headquarters. It was obvious from the way the soldiers looked at the two siblings when they approached the general.

"General Cosmo. I'm ...."

"Are you deaf? I told you that if you went and died while out there, I'd be reluctant to call you a hero. You died in vain. You gave up your long-awaited leave from work. You said you wanted to live a peaceful life without war duties. Yet, just because of a phone call claiming to be your daughter, and obviously deceiving you, you've become a fool! I'm sick of talking to intelligent people who become fools just because of the weak words of a deceitful little girl!" He replied angrily, making the handles of the forks and knives he was holding bent with a firm grip.

The faces of the people who heard that tensed up instantly; they chose to remain silent. They knew that the supreme leader in that place was furious that his best man had left for a non-official duty.

"Thank you," Blue replied matter-of-factly and stepped away from the dining room. Red let out a long breath. Distressed by the current situation.
