Sienna's POV
They froze at the sound of my voice, mid strike. They looked wild with their fangs and claws out.
"I said, stop it!" I repeated in a firm voice.
Darius struggled on the floor, moving slightly and tried to crawl.
They turned to me, at the same time, their hands falling gently to their side. I could see they were still tense.
Kieran's green eyes softer as he saw me and he slowly returned to his human form. Caius did the same, his fangs and claws retreating.
"What were you two going to do? Kill yourselves?" I asked, walking fast down the stairs.
The fresh scratch on kieran's cheeks healed before I reached down and he wiped the blood off his face.
Caius, glowing eyes returned to its usual red eyes and his torn lips healed.
Kieran stepped forward, and I moved back. He stopped, stretching his hands out. "Sienna, come with me."
His voice was calm, pleading and softer than the last time he spoke to me.
"I can't," I answered and caught Caius smiling. I was mad with myself for getting into this mess.
"Why not?" Darius asked, standing up. I hated him more than anyone in the room. He made me sick.
"I owe Caius," I answered, turning my gaze to the vampire lord. "I can't leave until I pay him back."
"Impossible. He's a trickster. What sort of stupid deal did you make with him?!" Darius' voice thundered.
"Speak to her like that again and I'll make sure you don't have a tongue," Caius warned.
"There you have it, Alpha Kieran. She stays with me," Caius said, walking to my side.
"You don't need to owe him Sienna," Kieran said, looking at me. "I'll pay for it."
"No," Darius murmured.
Kieran silenced Darius with his hand, and continued. "What do you want, Caius?" He said coldly. "I won't ask again."
"I already told you. I want her," Caius stated.
"She's a wolf. You're a vampire. We don't flow," Kieran spoke more calmly than I expected.
"We do. We used to," I interrupted. "My mind used to be allies to the vampires. He is kind to me unlike you," I lashed out.
Kieran blinked, and breathed calmly. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been awful to you, but this isn't the way. He never makes a deal without getting something in return."
"And you don't? Who offered me to stay with him as my mate with no way out?" I yelled.
Caius smirked, and placed a hand on my shoulder. "You're a powerful bloodline. Of course, he'll want you to be his Luna."
"Shut up damn mouth, Caius!" Kieran warned.
"Did I lie? You wanted to use her, didn't you?" Caius asked. He was pushing Kieran.
Kieran exhaled softly.. "Yes, I won't deny it. I had thought of using you, Sienna. But, I couldn't."
"I would never force you to do what you don't want to ever again. It was my fault and I'm sorry," he begged.
"Oh, nice. The mighty Kieran begs. Today is my lucky day," Caius mocked.
I felt his sincerity. He didn't flinch and still kept his hands out to me.
"What do you say, Sienna? Will you go with him or stay with me?" Caius asked. "Time's ticking wolf. Make your choice."
I breathed slowly, weighing my options. Kieran had promised not to force me against my will. I couldn't read Caius as he was dubious.
Both men stared at me, waiting for my answer.
"Will you keep to your word?" I asked calmly, taking a step forward.
"I swear it," he said.
Darius scoffed, rolling his eyes and I flashed him my deadliest glare.
"Alpha, don't tell me you trust her? She could be playing us…" he said, but Kieran cut him off.
"That's enough, Darius," Kieran warned. "You will treat her with respect. Is that clear?"
Darius frowned and nodded. "Yes, Alpha."
I moved to Kieran, taking his hand. "Okay."
"I guess Kieran has to pay me then," Caius said, chuckling.
Just then, a loud gong shook the castle walls, and the bell rang loudly.
"What in the world?" Caius murmured and the door opened. A pale vampire came in and he looked disorganized. "My lord, the midnight syndicate request to see you immediately."
"I didn't send an invite. Tell them to leave," Caius ordered.
The messenger swallowed, looking scared. "They came in numbers and refused to leave."
"Oh, great. We're trapped," Darius murmured.
I turned to Caius looking at him suspiciously. He had threatened me some hours earlier with the midnight syndicate. Did he try to sell me to them?
He met my gaze and answered. "It's not hard to guess what you're thinking. I didn't ask for them."
I was about to argue when the loud voices of the werewolves came with the door sliding open.
Their leader appeared, walking forward and raised his hand to quieten the men. He had a scar running down his left cheek and he stopped, just a few feet before us.
"My name is Crant. I come under the Queen's orders. And her orders are simple, hand Sienna to us."
I froze, finding it difficult to breathe. Caius looked pissed, watching them enter his palace uninvited.
"And who gave you the right to enter my domain unannounced?" Caius asked, spitting venom from his mouth.
Grant smiled, then turned his gaze to me. "Apologies, Lord Caius. But we had specific orders and we are to follow them."
Then he looked at Darius. It was quick, but only the type of look you give to someone you know.
He returned his gaze to meet my face and Kieran stepped forward, blocking Crant's eyes on me.
"Alpha Kieran," Crant greeted. "Are you here for her too?"
Kieran wasted no time and said in a threatening voice. "Yes."
"Then, I am sorry. You would have to meet the queen," Crant answered.
"If you want her, then you have to go through me first," Kieran said, and took a step forward.
Crant smirked and replied. "I was hoping you'd say that."
